Statistically, the Hispanic/Latino school aged population rated one of the lowest populations to be

The process of the City Council meeting was very interesting and long. There were many things that

Bakersfield. They depend greatly on the community to help sponsor animals. This means that the
community members, depending on the type of animal, will provide a starting kit which include
food, bedding, and a scratching post to the adopters. The animals who were sponsor by the
community are cats that are older or have been at the shelter longer than the rest. This is a form of
trying to save as many animals as possible by defining the animal as a shelter "mascot" (3/28/2017).

In discussions of hometown politics, the most controversial issue has been the intentions of both the

I am currently working as an Associate Planner for the City of Bakersfield's Economic Development
Division located at 1715 Chester Avenue in Bakersfield, Ca. The Economic Development Division

The At The Bakersfield Homeless Center
The overview of the typical activities I participated in at the Bakersfield Homeless Center consisted
of providing 3 nutritional meals a day for the individuals and families at the center. We also created
a variety of lunches for those who were contracted to work outside the center. In addition, I help

As we were all gathered around at my mother's birthday, her sisters brought up the funny memories
that happened along the way traveling to Bakersfield. None of my cousins or I knew the real story or
reason on why we were sitting around waiting for cake in over one hundred degree weather, and we
were all very curious. However even though we did not know the story about their migration or how
it happened, we were all very grateful for the sacrifices and harsh decisions my family must have
made in search for a better life.
My mother grew up in the large and crowded Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. She grew up in a
large two story house with her two younger sisters, Gabriela and Beatriz, along with her mother and
father. Getting home from school was her favorite part as her neighbors would greet her with
homemade doughnuts that could easily be smell from a few blocks down. She described them as
extremely fluffy, warm, powdery, and most importantly delicious. For fun, she would build large
forts with her younger sisters, which her mother definitely did not appreciate, but it was fun while it
lasted. After picking up and unhanging the large sheets from just about everywhere, she would go
outside, and play different sports, and activities with her cousins and neighbors until it was dark and
did so everyday.

The Wool Growers Basque Restaurant is located on the East side of Bakersfield. The location is in a
bad part of town. The outside of the building doesn't look very appealing and the location is
surrounded by old buildings and old neighborhood houses. As I arrived I was surprised to see a full
parking lot.
When I entered the restaurant I encounter a heavy crowd in the bar section. I was shocked to see
only white people from old to middle age. As I was walking down the hall to the dining area, I could
see many pictures of family generations. My classmates were there already, so we sat down and
ordered our meals. The place was packed! It seems like this is a very traditional family restaurant.
All the tables were occupied with grandparents, parents, and children. I could guess, there were
about 150 people, and only Eva, Angie, Mirna, the waiter and I were Mexicans! I'm assuming that
