Financial executive Art Samberg has dedicated more than 40 years to the industry. Having held positions, among other places, with Kidder Peabody and Pequot Capital Management, Inc., Art J. Samberg currently owns Hawkes Financial, LLC, his family office. Arthur Samberg received his MBA from Columbia Business School. A member of the school’s Board of Overseers, he became the founding sponsor of its Arthur J. Samberg Institute for Teaching Excellence.

The Arthur J. Samberg Institute for Teaching
Excellence at Columbia Business School
provides faculty members with programs to
enhance their education and capabilities. It
was established in 2002, during Samberg's
tenure with Pequot Capital Management, with
the goal of improving teacher qualifications
throughout the university. Among its
programs are new faculty orientation and
teaching workshops.

Another endeavor of the Arthur J. Samberg
Institute for Teaching Excellence is its
mentorship program. Junior faculty members
partner with senior professors to receive
guidance on classroom leadership, teaching
techniques, and how to become the next
generation of valued academics. Its round
table sessions also allow professors and
consultants to share ideas on making the
educational experience better for students.
