2. INTRODUCTION
This study is all about the impact of work immersion to the
career path of the grade 12 students. The study aim to
determined the advantages of having a work immersion, Work
Immersion can be seen as giving the students a way to improve
themselves by experiencing real work simulation. Work
immersion is a key feature in the Senior High School curriculum
and refers to the part of that consists of 80 hours of hands-on
experience or work simulation which Grade 12 students will
undergo to expose them to the actual work setting and to
enrich the competencies provided by the school.

3. BACKGROUND OF THE
STUDY
Work immersion programs offer hands-on training and
simulations for Senior High School students, enhancing their
career choices and employment prospects. These programs equip
students with industry-based competencies, fostering teamwork,
communication, productivity, and professionalism. The
Department of Education has released a guideline for conducting
work immersion activities, ensuring a smooth transition from
school to work.

5. OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
Work immersion will help develop among the learners life and
career skills, and will prepare them to make decisions on
postsecondary education or employment. Through partnership
building, DepEd hopes that the Partner Institutions will provide
learners with work immersion opportunities, workplace or
hands-on experience, and additional learning resources.

Through work immersion, students can build a strong foundation for their future careers. They
can learn how to interact with professionals in a professional setting. They will also gain an
understanding of the industry, which can help them make informed decisions when applying
for jobs.

Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to and become familiar with work-related
environment related to their field of specialization to enhance their competence.

8. SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
A group of grade 12 students in Sta ana National High School, Sta ana
Tagoloan Misamis Oriental were the subject of this investigation for the
planned survey. We choose 60 participants and we also created a
questionnaire with just questions on difficulties that students had with
their own professional development. Exhausted and short on time in their
line of employment. Overall it was determined from the findings of the
students that the pupils had grown through work immersion, acquired
new abilities and were being prepared for the near future. The said school
is chosen mostly due to its proximity to the researchers.

their competencies and acquired knowledge relevant to their track. Through work immersion,
the students are exposed to and become familiarized with work environment related to their
field of specialization.

10. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Work immersion in senior high schools offers students 80 hours of
hands-on experience, enriching their competencies. The study found that
students perceive Work Immersion as meaningful, challenging, and
practical. However, the 2018 Program report suggests variations in
workplace effectiveness, particularly in relationships between supervisors
and learners. Work Immersion aims to improve students' skills and
training in various work areas, focusing on Accountancy, Business, and
Management. The program requires more years and adjustments to
ensure its effectiveness. DepEd seeks collaboration with companies to
provide immersion opportunities and linkages with industry partners.
The Program aims to reduce youth unemployment by increasing skilled
candidates and boosting economic development. Senior high school
students must complete Work Immersion, an 80-hour work shift in a
company, prior to diploma completion.

11. Research design
The research design used in this study is descriptive
quantitative method of research and used survey
method through the use of questionnaire to collect the
descriptive data, specifically survey method of research
was utilized where self-made questionnaire will be used
as a tool for gathering the data to know the Impact of
work immersion on career path of Grade 12 students in
Sta.Ana National High school, Sta.Ana. Tagoloan Misamis
Oriental.
