Coachingor Evaluationfeedbackaboutit.Critique boththe ideabehindthe creationandthe
executionof thatidea. Tryto be aggressive withyourfeedback –you aren’tlookingtobe a
supportive mirror.
B) Whenyoureceive yourpartner’sfeedback,trytotransferthe critique fromyourcreationto
yourself. See if youcanfeel likeyourpartnerhasmade a critique aboutyou. Thismightbe difficult
to do,but don’tget discouraged.

  • 1. Exercise 5 – Identity Triggers Both Partners Goals Experiencinganddefusingidentitytriggers. Building Phase (Time: 10 minutes) Buildsomethingyoupersonallyidentifywith,orthatinsome wayrepresentsyou.Spendsome time playing aroundwithyour creation,andtry to anthropomorphizeitalittle –give itits ownname,itsownpersonality, and itsownbackstory.Be proudof it!You createdsomething! Feedback Phase (Time: 10 minutes) 1) Introduce Your Creation Take a minute todescribe whatyou’ve built toyourpartner.Explainhow youidentifywithit.Letthemdo the same.Thenchoose one of youto offerfeedbackfirst. 2) Exchange Feedback A) Your partner’screationshouldrepresentthemselves.Usingthe suggestionsfromExercise 1,offer Coachingor Evaluationfeedbackaboutit.Critique boththe ideabehindthe creationandthe executionof thatidea. Tryto be aggressive withyourfeedback –you aren’tlookingtobe a supportive mirror. B) Whenyoureceive yourpartner’sfeedback,trytotransferthe critique fromyourcreationto yourself. See if youcanfeel likeyourpartnerhasmade a critique aboutyou. Thismightbe difficult to do,but don’tget discouraged. C) Use the techniqueswe discussedtotryandlook objectivelyatthatfeedback.  What do youfeel?  What’sthe storyyou’re tellingyourself?  What isthe actual feedback?  What are the limitsof thatfeedback?Whatdoesn’titapplyto? 3) Repeat Repeatthe exercise asmanytimesasyouwant,until youfeel comfortablewiththe feelingof the identity triggerand the techniquestodefuseit.
