However, these are different in following ways: 1. Rocks are classified by geological processes whereas minerals are classified by chemical processes. 2. Rocks do not play any role in biological processes whereas minerals play definitive role. 3. Sometivmes, fosil remains are found embeded inside rocks while minerals don\'t have fossils.
