Leadership Qualities Of A Leadership
Introduction Nurses work in a variety of settings as informal and formal leaders, and must have the
qualities of a strong leader. There are various styles of leaders and in order to choose and develop an
appropriate style, individuals must identify leadership qualities that they possess and qualities that
must be improved through reflective practice. By completing a baseline assessment of my clinical
leadership skills and creating biweekly journals, I was able to identify a style of leadership that
resonated with me. I implemented strategies to improve my weaknesses and conducted a self–
evaluation at the end of the 8 weeks to see my growth and movement as a transformational leader.
Strengths
According to Kouzes & Posner (2002) five characteristics that followers expect from their leader is
the ability to model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and
encourage the heart (Kouzes & Posner, 2002). After conducting a baseline assessment of clinical
leadership, I identified my strengths and areas for improvement (Appendix A). I scored high in the
category of "inspiring a shared vision," and "encouraging the heart." Inspiring a shared vision
entails that the leader is able to envision and create goals that followers care about and works
towards collectively (Kouzes & Posner, 2002). In their meta–analysis of leadership styles, Eagly,
Johannesen–Schmidt & van Engen (2003) emphasize that transformational leaders must put the goal

Lcse Leadership Qualities
For the entirety of my high school career, I have been a student in the Leadership Center for the
Sciences and Engineering (LCSE) held at Norview High School. Being enrolled in this specialty
program has strengthened and pushed me academically, as a leader, with public speaking, and as a
service worker. Specifically, LCSE has developed my leadership skills and allowed me to become a
more service–oriented leader. In the first year of the program, students take Leadership Foundations
where the basics of leadership and the history of great leaders are taught. Then, in Advanced
Leadership students model leadership skills by hosting holiday gatherings, being counselors for the
LCSE Summer Orientation Camp, and completing 200 volunteering hours.
Moreover, while taking the Leadership Foundations Class, there were many lessons that provided
me with tools to be an efficient leader. However, when my teacher exposed the class to servant
leadership, I immediately took interest in it. At this moment, I finally directed my leadership to
embody the qualities of a servant leader. Some of which include: acting with humility, encouraging
the new generation of young leaders, valuing diverse opinions, and serving others before ... Show

In previous years, the society failed to affect the community in a positive way; however, since I was
shown that the only people who can make a difference are the ones that try, I knew I needed to
promote this within the society. During meetings, I told members that in order to see change within
the community, we have to act. Therefore, our first service was a Christmas food drive. When we
donated the food to the FoodBank of Southeastern Virginia, they informed us that we fed 108
families. With this statistic, members realized that they too can affect the community, therefore,

Leadership Qualities Of An Organization
Leadership Qualities
Often times in an organization, leaders or managers tend to just want to complete an assignment or
task without thinking about the positive or negative side effects that will have an impact on the
product or individuals involved. The assignment may get completed, but not every individual has a
clear understanding of their role. Information is not clearly communicated therefore not allowing
others to provide ideas or feedback to the outcome of the assignment.
The success of an organization is based on its leadership to clearly communicate the visions and
goals. Leadership is influencing others through building relationships that involve trust and
commitment. Effective and inspiring leaders ensure that the visions and ... Show more content on

The work and attitude of an inspiring leader is contagious amongst others and has a great impact on
an organization. Motivated employees will keep productivity at a very high quality because they
have the confidence that their work will produce results. Committed employees enjoy coming to
work each day and a large part of that is because of the leaders inspiration they have for them. These
employees have clear direction and know that the leader will listen to their ideas and take them
seriously.
Inspirational leaders provide their employees with a clear sight of what needs to be accomplished by
engaging in the work and setting the example. They will allow their employees to ask questions and
give feedback to create powerful communication in the organization. These leaders will not just sit
back and tell others what to do, they stay involved and provide greater opportunities for everybody.
Inspirational leaders are committed to an organization by allowing collaboration and innovation that
motivates everybody to deliver the exceptional skills they possess.
Honesty
An honest leader earns credibility. Honesty is a common trait that a leader must possess to become
successful and earn credibility with their constituents. An employee isn't going to follow the
example of a leader they don't feel is honest, they are going to follow a leader that has earned trust
and respect through honesty.

Attila's Leadership Qualities
Abstract
Leadership is often defined as the ability to motivate a group of people to accomplish a task.
Leaders, both good and evil, have been accomplishing this daunting task since the beginning of
time. Which brings us to the question of the relationship between morality and leadership. When
studying great leaders from history it is apparent that many men considered evil are also considered
highly effective leaders. This indicates that the characteristics of an effective leader transcend
morality. Three characteristics that are crucial to effective leadership and can be observed in leaders,
both good and evil, include communication, courage and loyalty.

Attila, regardless of the fact that he is often considered one of the cruelest men to have ever ruled,
was fiercely loyal. Loyalty was considered of utmost importance to the Huns, especially to Attila
who had been betrayed at a young age by Rugila which led to him being imprisoned by the Romans.
Loyalty played an important role in Attila's leadership. His people knew that he was completely
vested in them and his vision for the Huns. It was Attila's loyalty to his people that allowed him to
come to power. Attila utilized emotional appeal to win the loyalty of the chieftains that he visited.
Winning their loyalty made it possible for Attila to gain power.
Attila's loyalty to the Huns was easily understood. He was one of them. He was born a Hun and was
able to trace his lineage back some thirty odd generations. Dan Inouye could not do the same. He
was a Nisei, a second generation Japanese American. Inouye's lineage did not have any bearing on
his loyalty to the United States of America or his devotion to protecting her and her

Army Leadership Qualities
Every Soldier deserves high quality, effective leadership. It is my duty to set this example and
develop my subordinates to do the same. I expect my Soldiers to exceed the standards set before
them through critical thinking and sound discipline. My Soldiers will receive all the resources and
tools to reach maximum potential. My goal is not only to improve the organization and Soldiers but
myself as well. There are several key concepts that I base my leadership on: Character: Never
compromise integrity, morals, or values. It only takes one incident to destroy trust and confidence.
Soldiers and leaders may forgive but they never forget. One's reputation can open or close doors and
is vital to a Soldier's career. Education: Change is constant, not only in the military but in every
facet of life. Continuing education through college courses, online courses, community
organizations, and military schooling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To do this effectively, one must constantly review and enhance performance. Be open to
constructive criticism and give it freely. Seek a mentor and mentor others. Teach and be taught.
Most importantly, take every experience and use it as a learning resource. Adaptation: Every Soldier
and situation is different. An effective leadership style must adapt over time. It must be flexible
enough to increase Soldier strengths and reduce weaknesses without bending standards.
Consistency: Every Soldier deserves respect and candid leadership. Favoritism and ostracism are
damaging to morale and productivity. Clear and concise expectations and standards give Soldiers a
foundation to build on. I truly believe that being a great leader starts with living the Army values

Quality Of Leadership In Nursing
Nurses are official, and sometimes unofficial leaders in the care of a patient. Leadership can not
only be by a formal role or title, but a presence and an empowerment quality that motivates others
around them to strive to succeed. A nurse with the quality of leadership has proven to be extremely
influential in the care of a patient. In the clinical setting, I exhibit leadership by advocating for my
patients, practicing to the best of my ability, utilizing my time and resources, practice adequate
communication skills, and recognizing the hard work of my peers. An example of a time that I
demonstrated leadership was during quarter eleven. I was doing my clinical rotation at Augustana

Qualities of Leadership Essay
The dictionary defines leadership as a critical management skill; it is the ability to motivate a group
of people toward a common goal. These qualities will help you develop your skills as a leader.
Leaders play a very huge role whether the task that they are taking on is big or small. The leaders
face special challenges as they try to communicate and interact with their followers and potential
followers to understand and know what they think and what they do. Leaders should know that
creativity and innovation are the life of their organization. The mission of every leader should be to
search continually for ideas and programs that are better for the organization that they are currently
committed to; which is progress. When you think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Banned from boxing and stripped of his title, Ali stays in the spotlight, speaking against the war. He
always said what he felt. Ali made comments about the war they were said to be" unpatriotic" and if
he did not apologize for making the comments he would not be able to participate in the big
upcoming fight. They had him apologize or that's what they though he was going to do but he did
not apologize so they cancelled the fight. He did not believe in wars so he was not going to support
them. He showed leadership in standing up for what he thought was right. His boldness made him
stand out in the crowd he spoke his mind and did not care what anybody else thought and that made
him a great example to look up to and to follow. On April 28, 1968 the Houston induction ceremony

Leadership Qualities Analysis
Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by all kinds of positive influences. I have grown up in a
firm, Christian household and I have been involved in many different organizations and events that
require good leadership skills. Therefore through my previous experience, I believe that three of the
most important qualities of leadership is communication, creativity, and commitment.
Communication is important when it comes to leadership especially when working with others.
Sometimes I have difficulty asking for help from others when working in a group or being apart of a
club. I tend to believe I can do everything on my own so I rarely ask for help from others. But
recently I have learned that asking for help is important for keeping my sanity and getting the job
done in the best and most efficient way. I become so overwhelmed with everything that I am doing,
and I tend to get very stressed and exhausted. There are times when, I do admit, I should have asked
for help because I had bitten off way too much for me to chew, but I didn't. I thought I can do
everything on my own without the help of anyone else. I didn't communicate with anyone that I was
having trouble and I became so involved with what I was doing to the extent that I had no ... Show

leadership position in various clubs and organizations, I have learned that being created in a time of

Personal Leadership Qualities And Qualities
There are many different theories and approaches developed, that help determine personal
leadership qualities and actions. Each approach holds valuable information in relation to leadership
styles and qualities, yet you must find the approaches that appeal to you when attempting to
determine your own leadership qualities. The skills approach and authentic leadership approach
were the most appealing for me. I choose these two approaches because I believe that it is very
important to be an authentic leader, as well as to have the knowledge to do the job asked of you and
for you to be able to teach your followers. "Leadership is a combination of intrinsic personality
traits, learned leadership skills, and characteristics of the situation" (Cherry, B., & Jacob, S. R.,
2014, p. 287). You never know when you can be viewed as a leader to someone else, regardless of
your position and title. Knowing where you stand in your leadership qualities will help you
throughout your career.
Primary concepts
The skills approach to leadership places importance on the actual capabilities and knowledge of the
leader. Within this approach, it is thought that anyone can be taught the qualities it takes to become a
leader. There are three different types of skill qualities involved within this approach, the technical
skill, human skill, and conceptual skill. The technical skill looks at the ability of a person to actually
do the job. The human skill focuses on the way a person interacts with people.

Leadership Qualities Of A Leader
A Leader A leader is a person who guides a group with through a situation. A leader's actions and
words will determine his or her reputation as a leader. Good leaders possess similar characteristics,
such as strong organizational skill, trustworthy, approachable and a visionary. A good leader has the
ability to use his or her team members' strengths to enhance a group's productivity. Along with being
able to successfully manage groups of people, a good leader must possess the ability to inspire,
encourage, challenge and support the people around them. Under good leadership people will rise to
challenge and surpass expectations. Throughout my 12 years of teaching, I have encountered many
leaders, some great and some with subpar abilities to lead. While I always strive to maintain a
consistently high level of teaching each year, I know my teaching level and skills definitely
increased under great leadership. Skills I obtained while working with great leaders has provided me
with knowledge that I have been able to retain and utilize when relocating from one location of the
country to another. Good Leader During my five years at a small California school district, I had the
privilege to work for an amazing superintendent. The superintendent, Steven Ventura, had all the
traits of a good leader. He was extremely approachable, knowledgeable, visible, organized and a
visionary. While working for Mr. Ventura, I always felt inspired, challenged, encouraged and
supported.

Coxswain Leadership Qualities
"Come on, you can do it! You're not trying hard enough, pull harder!" These are the words of a born
leader, or so I thought.
At age ten, I signed up for my first rowing camp ready to step in a boat and row. Since I am the
youngest in my family, I was always looked down upon as the "baby". I was looking for an
opportunity to be seen as a leader on the team. Given my height deficit, currently standing at a
massive five feet and one inch, my coach decided I fit the criteria to be a coxswain. Finally I would
get the opportunity to be in control. I raced for the first time when I was twelve years old, while
disappointed with my boat's loss, I remember the pride I felt for cheering on my boat and correcting
all the girls' mistakes.
After a couple of seasons elapsed, I became frustrated, I was positive my talent as a coxswain wasn't
being appreciated on the girls' team. I thought my trouble surely had to do with the team and not me

have learned in my life, what it really means to be a leader. He showed me how to sharpen my skills
of accountability, how to learn from my mistakes, and how to gain the trust and respect of others.
Eager to learn how to attain these qualities, I went to the boathouse every day where I endured long

Leadership Qualities Of A Leader
Leading with Purpose
Leadership can be defined as someone who has a positive and influential impact in their society,
country, university or organization. A leader promotes interactions, motivates his/her peers and
maintains a significant level of respect to everyone despite their ethnicity, race or culture. A leader is
inspirational and has the ability to adapt to different environments. A leader is willing to sacrifice
personal time in order to help out with certain tasks throughout the week. Most importantly, a leader
can be anyone, whether it is a big brother or sister, a parent, or even a best friend who exemplifies
great confidence in order to assist and lead others. Everyone is entitled to their own perspective as to
what a leader should be like, but what exactly makes a leader a LEADER? Who is capable of
leading and why is it important? In my paper, I will be discussing 5 leadership qualities that are
essential for a leader to possess, as well as the role of leadership, characteristics that make a
successful leader, examples of leadership, and how diversity plays a significant role in leadership
today.
As the society is becoming more global and diverse, it is imperative to have leaders who are able to
cooperate with individuals who share different interests and come from various cultures. A leader
must be prepared to negotiate with those who value their opinions over his/her own. Leaders are
essential to have because everyone is not capable of making a firm

Nursing Leadership Qualities
Many people in life wish to be a leader – someone who others can follow and who others actually
are willing to follow. Being a true leader, therefore, requires an individual to possess a multitude of
qualities and traits that will make others want to and willing to follow the vision and the goals of the
leader. In professional nursing practice, a leadership role is very much similar to this, as the leader
must be able to rally the support of his or her fellow staff nurses and other health care employees
while also being able to support and advocate for them on their own level and at higher levels of the
organization. This can all seem like a daunting task, but a true nursing leader will take the necessary

For example, some very distinct qualities of a nursing leader include, but are not limited to:
committing to a cause, creating and developing other leaders, focusing on service, promoting
communication, aligning behaviors with goals and values, and recognizing and rewarding success
(Guyton, 2013). While all of these values may also be applied to management personnel, they stand
out as effective nursing leader traits first. A nursing leader must be able to motivate his or her fellow
staff members to want to provide top quality care while also pursuing the goals and the vision of the
unit, and all of the aforementioned qualities are tools in the nurse leader's arsenal to empower and
encourage other nurses to do so. Also, according to Yoder–Wise (2015),

The Leadership Style And Qualities
Strong leadership is vital to the success of any business, institution, school, team, or even church.
Leaders that are considered effective encompass a leadership style and qualities that work to
influence and motivate their followers. Joel Osteen, an evangelical pastor from Houston, Texas is
truly one of the 21st centuries most captivating leaders. So much so, that he as selected by Barbara
Walters as one of her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2016 (ABC News, 2006). His appeal is a
phenomenon that is unmatched by any other current leaders in his profession. Over the past 15 years
he has built a church, where he ministers one of the largest and most diverse congregations in
America (Romano, 2005). Aside from his 45,000 attendees at his weekly services, his sermon is
broadcasted in every television market in the United States and in over 100 other nations around the
world ("About Joel," n.d.). Joel Osteen is a prime example of a compelling leader who practices an
effective leadership style that resonates with people on a personal level.
Leadership Style
Joel Osteen is known as "the smiling preacher," and considers himself to be a happy person who is
meant to motivate people to be the best they can be by focusing on the goodness of God and living

healthcare, finance, political science, psychology, and more. There seems to be a paradigm shift in
leadership theories and qualities that is focusing on the relationship of the leader to his or her
subordinates as well as the population they are serving. Parris and Peachey state "leadership is a
skill used to influence followers in an organization to work enthusiastically towards goals

Leadership Qualities In Macbeth
"No one is born a leader. You may start with a gift for leadership, but you have to work hard to
develop it fully" – Vince Lombardi ("Famous Quotes"). Not everyone will agree on the qualities that
make up a good leader, but most leaders will have common leadership qualities. Shakespeare had
many leadership qualities in his play Macbeth. In order to be a king like Duncan, someone must
have strong leadership skills. In order to have power, a leader must possess qualities of
determination, respect for followers, and confidence.
One quality that every leader should have is determination. Determination is "the firmness of
purpose" ("Determination"). So, if someone is determined, then they are doing something for a
purpose and not just because. Macbeth was determined to become king, he did everything necessary
to get what he wanted. In act 2, scene 2 Macbeth said "The deed is done. Didn't you hear a noise?"
Macbeth was so determined to become king that he drunkened the servants that were standing
outside of King Duncan's room and killed Duncan while he was sleeping. Macbeth and his wife also

conflict, not just between Soldiers, but also civilians. A Soldier not showing up for work could not
be solved the same as a civilian supervisor having an issue with how much time a Soldier was
taking away from the section due to unit tasking or a Soldier having marital problems that starts to
interfere with work. None of these issues could be solved the same way and I had to develop the
mental agility and innovation as part of my leadership philosophy to solve some of these

My Leadership Quality
Leadership is a amazing quality to have and it should be a characteristic of everyone. For me, it
means that you are able to take charge in difficult or stressful situations and make it so everyone that
is there is able to do their job. A time that I had to be a leader was seven months ago when I was
asked to be a assistant instructor at the United States Taekwondo Academy. I had got my first degree
Black Belt about two weeks before and it was time for me to step up and take charge of new
students and help them achieve Black belt and to help them learn what they needed to. Even now, I
am still a assistant instructor and one day I hope to be a full instructor in the next few years. I still
have a lot to learn about taking charge and making sure

Leadership As A Leader And Gaining Leadership Qualities
As a result of living in a society that puts a great deal of importance on becoming a leader and
gaining leadership qualities, work places and organisations have now resulted in investing large
sums in sponsoring employees take part in leadership programs and training courses. The term
leadership is broad and open to interpretation. Peters and Waterman (1982, P. 79) define leadership
as "meticulously shifting the attention of the institutions through the mundane language of
management systems. It is altering agendas so that new agendas get attention. It is being visible
when things go awry and invisible when they are working well. It is building a loyal team that

There are many theories that contribute to the discussion of leadership some of which are: Trait,
Behavioural, Contingency, Relational theory and the Style theory. The contingency theory claims
that there is no set way to lead an organisation. This is due to the fact that both external and internal
factors need to be considered by the leader and need to be handled accordingly. The Relational
theory looks into how relations within an organisation develop leaders and at how leaders are
required to be accustomed to others within the organisation. The Style theory of leadership proposes
that they style of leadership is the key to good leadership. It looks at leaders and their style of
leadership for example Steve Jobs would lead in a very autocratic manner whereas Richard Branson
is seen to be a democratic leader. The managerial grid is also part of the style based theory; it allows
people to embrace a leadership style that is both people friendly and achieve target production.
However this theory has been criticised of being too simplistic as different people would prefer to
be lead in different ways. Having said this there are two main theories that have become the result of
this debate: behavioural and trait. The trait theory believes that people are born with leadership
characteristics such as imagination, determination and enthusiasm. The analysis of mental, physical
and social attributes of leaders resulted in the trait theory being developed. Whereas the behavioural

One of my favorite leaders was a great scientist in his own right. I worked with him at the Naval
Research Laboratory in Orlando, Florida for several years. We were working on sonar transducers. I
was one of his chosen interns with a strong background in mathematics, physics, and chemistry
during that time. He had a great leadership with unbelievable cultural communication salted with
grace, friendship, and loyalty. He communicated thoroughly with me and my teammates. His
communication style spoke life to us increasing our creativity and unlimited opportunities. It was
filled with openness, friendly conversations relaxing the laboratory's atmosphere and sharing ideas
with others. Also, his listening style helped me and other interns to

This stands in contrast with management, which involves keeping the current system operating
through planning, budgeting, organising, staffing, controlling, and problem solving.
According to Griffin (2008) organisations need both management and leadership if they are to be
effective. Leadership is necessary to create change, and management is necessary to achieve orderly
results. Management in conjunction with leadership can produce orderly change, and leadership in
conjunction with management can keep the organisation properly aligned with its environment.
4. Tesco's Leadership Framework
Tesco looks for managers who are positive, confident and genuine, with the capacity to inspire and
encourage their teams. A key part of Tesco's programme for building leaders is encouraging self–
review and reflection. This allows staff to assess their strengths and find ways of demonstrating the
characteristics that are vital to the long–term development of the business. (Business Case Studies
LLP, 2013)
Tesco's leadership framework sets out not just the skills and competencies but also the personal
characteristics and behaviours it expects of its leaders:

Qualities Of Leadership In Beowulf
Leadership is the ability of motivating an assembly of people to act towards a common goal and has
the skill to make others want to follow in their direction (Ward). The epic Beowulf, contains various
scenes of how the protagonist hero, Beowulf, shows great leadership. Beowulf portrays good
leadership by his confidence, his physical strength, and his loyalty, which are important qualities of
the Anglo–Saxon time.
Beowulf's most seen quality in this epic is his confidence. The scene that most directly shows his
confidence is his famous boast. "So, every elder and experienced councilman/ among my people
supported my resolve/ to come here to you, King Hrothgar, / because all knew of my awesome
strength. / They had seen me boltered in the blood of enemies/ when I battled and bound five beasts,
/ raided a troll–nest and in the night–sea/ slaughtered sea–brutes..." (Heaney lines 415–422).
Beowulf's boast is said publically, which shows an inspirational sense of confidence to defeat
Grendel. The boast also demonstrates Beowulf's courage and brave characteristics that makes him
appear very heroic. Furthermore, Beowulf's promise to kill Grendel to the Danes is a confident and
risky thing to do, but Beowulf is able to pull it off. In Forbes article, it states that good leaders need
to "deliver on [their] promises. Which our hero does that very night, killing the beast by ripping him
apart 'The monster's whole/ body was in pain, a tremendous wound/ appeared on his shoulder'"
(Forbes).

Student Leadership Qualities
Provide 3 examples of your leadership qualities and explain. 1. One of my highest leadership
qualities would be Confidence. I am able to tell people who lack confidence that they can be truly
something great one day if they try. As Student Council President I would help teach the school how
confidence can help a school thrive in sports, banquets, parties, and etc. My second leadership
quality would be Caring. I am a very caring person, which connects to the fact that I plan to be a
nurse one day. My Caring aspect would help Student Council grow to see that Fairhill is an amazing
and caring place but that with a strong team we can all help make it even greater. My third
leadership quality is Communication. I am good at speaking to large crowds and communicating
what needs to be done. I am also a good advocate for myself. When, I need help I always
communicate what I am struggling with.
2. Please describe why you would make an Excellent Student Council Officer. I think I have many
qualities that make me stand out from others. I truly think that the Student Council could benefit
from my character and personality. I am willing to do jobs that most people would not want to do. I

A manager, according to the Business Dictionary, is "an individual who is in charge of a certain
group of tasks, or a certain subset of a company." A manager often has a staff of people who report
to him or her. This paper will also refer to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator or, MBTI, a thoughtful
self–report survey with the purpose of indicating different psychological fondness in how people
recognize the world around them and make decisions. All these terms and other general terms will
all be used throughout the paper to explain why it is important for managers to receive leadership
training and step into a leadership role.
It is often that the word "manager" and "leader" are tossed around as if they are the same. Admiral
Grace Murray once said, "You manage things, you lead people." Though managers and leaders may
share similar roles when it comes to business one cannot use the words interchangeably. Leadership
and Management are two individual and corresponding systems of action. The two have their own
function and characteristic activities. A leader provides direction, in which the leader begins the
vision and highlights its importance to everyone throughout the organization. A leader also
progresses the strategies to make accomplishment possible and a leader copes with the change that
the policies have produced, a change that is almost constant in the work environment. Leaders most

Qualities of a Leader

A leader has a clear vision and is able to see where they want to go and are able to communicate it
clearly to their team. Some people say that some leaders are 'naturally born' while others state that
being a leader does not come naturally, but can develop through encouragement from others, being

desperation, fear, worry, or anxiety. All leaders are not created equal. Specific or individual qualities

This is also an essential characteristic to have as a leader. People want and support those who can
keep other people calm in a terrible or hard situation. Without a person that is composed and
collected in a strenuous crisis, it would be impossible to guide the panicked. Not only that, but the
problem could become bigger than it needs to be. One case that led to failure due to a leader not
being able to be assertive was Macbeth in the beginning of Act II. He and Lady Macbeth devised a
devilish plot to kill King Duncan so that Macbeth would become the next successor to rule. After
Macbeth played his role in the scheme, which was to kill the lord and place the daggers on Duncan's
guards so that they would be framed, he forgot to plant the weapons on them. After Lady Macbeth
questions his error, he states, "Listening to their frightened voices, I couldn't reply "Amen" when
they said "God bless us!"" and, "I'll go no more: / I am afraid to think what I have done; / Look on 't
again I dare not." At the time he was stressed and panicked, instead of being calm. In addition, he
tells himself, "Whence is that knocking? / How is't with me when every noise appals me?" Due to
him not being able to control himself, shortly after he was announced the new king people quickly

Qualities Of Leadership In Beowulf
Leadership The characteristics of a true leader are defined when they have to do something that the
normal person or creature would not. Beowulf is a true leader because he proves his greatness,
bravery, and worthiness by defeating numerous monsters to save his people. He shows all three of
these characteristics in the poem. Beowulf's greatness is proved when he defeats Grendel, his mom,
and protects his people from the dragon. No normal creature could accomplish this task but
Beowulf. He shows his bravery by taking a stand against a creature in Grendel, who attacks and
kills everyone, by fighting him with his bare hands. Beowulf's worthiness is proved when he is
deemed the greatest king of all time by his people. Beowulf's greatness is unfathomable throughout
the poem. His defeat of Grendel is his first huge accomplishment. "Our hero kills him that very
night, killing the beast by ripping him apart."(Post) Beowulf kills Grendel with his bare hands,
ripping his arm out and letting Grendel bleed to death. Everything is all well in the village after the
defeat of Grendel, but Beowulf stays up and finds that Grendel's mother seeks revenge for her son's
death. "Grendel's mother, monstrous hell–bride, brooded on her wrongs... sallied forth on a savage
journey, grief racked and ravenous, desperate for revenge."(Post) Grendel's mother is out to get

Leadership Qualities Of A Leader
A leader has a positive and influential impact in their society, country, university or organization. A

What advantage does a leader have when making a quick, thoughtless solution for a temporary
problem, but is incapable of making precise decisions to eliminate future ones? Making careless
decisions is a very unhealthy trait for a leader. It is dangerous and could result in a lot of chaos and
conflict. It is necessary that a leader prevents jeopardizing the future and turn away from making
any decision that will bring about more problems than before. To resolve this issue, each leader
needs a plan or goal and follows through with it. It is understandable that adjustments may need to
be made. Planning ahead increases the likelihood of success (Burr and Leung, 2015). Vision is
looking pass the storm, finding ways to cope with it during the present knowing that the future
brings a brighter outcome. Vision is hope.
The second quality that my leader will have is an open mind. With the growing population and
diversity, all opinions will be highly respected and considered. On page 33 of our Diversity and
Leadership book, it states that the key component of diversity is valuing differences (Chin and
Trimble, 2015). Having opposing viewpoints can cause tension but it also helps leaders to be
culturally competent and sensitive. Therefore, it takes open ears and an open mind to listen and push
for change or a better resolution (Gresch, 2009). Other cultures or races may have unique ideas or

Beowulf was many things, including but not limited to a hero and a leader. Leaders sometimes come

will stand up for the people who are in need and are deserving. There are so many qualities that
heroes and leaders have that Beowulf possesses in the narrative of Beowulf.
The young, strong hero protected a land he had heard about for so many years while he was a boy.

Essential Leadership Qualities
Many people believe that vision is an essential quality in leadership. For example, if you were an
architect leader then you would have to plan out on blueprints what your vision of the building of
how would it look like. As a leader, you have to create a clear vision or the objective of your plan
could be ruined. Vision has various meanings, which all include the definition of a mental image in
their head. Vision is a component for opening a door of success for an organization. Often, the
phrase mission is used to replace vision, but there is a big difference between the two.

While mission describes the organization's purpose of doing it. When focusing on the meaning an
association creates, the mission helps prioritize projects and contributes a structure for decision–

I believe my dad has vision and leadership because he is an architect. When he is doing that he has
to plan out spreadsheets and documents to help him visualize what it's going to look like and how
much it's going to cost. He led the workers that were building the house to make it perfectly because
his vision of how it was going to be was understandable. He visualized what it would look like once
it was built, what he needed, and how much it would cost. He has leadership because he told the
workers to build what his vision of the house and they followed exactly what he said.
To summarize my essay on leadership and vision I think vision is an essential characteristic of
leadership because you need to know how to visualize or plan ahead. Vision can be confused with
mission but, mission means the goal that they need to accomplish and vision means the direction
that the organization is traveling. And that is why I think vision is connected to

Titles do not automatically make you a great leader; I consider myself a great leader because of my
integrity, dependability, and my ability to work hard not because of the titles I have. I have
demonstrated my integrity throughout my life. When my AP Calculus teacher passed back a test, I
noticed that she had not taken off a point on an incorrect answer so I told her about the mistake and
consequently lost one point. I also demonstrated integrity and credibility when I returned a lost
wallet. As a leader, I have demonstrated dependability. I have been a trumpet section leader for the
past two years in the Lincoln High School Marching Band. During marching band camp, I always
carried supplies with me and the other trumpets could always rely on me if they forgot their
sunscreen or valve oil or if they got hurt and needed a band aid. Another way I demonstrated
dependability is by showing up fifteen minutes early to all of the band practices. My exceptional
work ethic and my commitment to success are some other reasons why I consider myself a great
leader. I have demonstrated my work ethic by working over eight hours to make sure my eight–page
lab report is perfect. I have demonstrated my dedication to success by helping other trumpeters in
my section. During marching band camp, I met with any of the trumpeters that did not have their
music memorized an hour before practice or during our lunch break and helped them to memorize
their music. If any of the trumpeters were having trouble with any of the marching, I would stay late
and work one on one with them. I was committed to making our section better and ergo making the
marching band better. I was able to change the trumpet section's reputation from being one of the

The Qualities Of Leadership And Teaching
Extraordinary teachers and leaders are a gift to the schools that they serve. Years of dedication,
passion, and persistence make these individuals. No one is born with the intrinsic ability to be
dynamic. Some people have a predisposition for leadership and teaching, but the very best leaders
and teachers are those who have worked hard and who have learned many lessons on the road to
success. Each of us can make the choice to become great leaders and teachers. We can embrace
research–based strategies and take actions to become not only accomplished but exemplary. I have
been fortunate enough to work in buildings that have had leaders that inspire trust and instill
confidence. Some of the leaders that I have taught under have had very dynamic personalities that
were almost autocratic, but because of their air of authority, people followed them fearlessly. I have
also worked under leaders that were more democratic in nature and that encouraged others to
become leaders and to be invested in the running of the school. In both situations, the schools were
very successful and the student outcomes top–notch. Barnett Berry, founder of the Center for
Teaching Quality, states that many different styles of leadership work, but he found the
administrators that accept teacher leaders and share the task of creating a vibrant and successful
school, leave behind a legacy of success (Berry, youtube video). As new leaders in the school, we

Leadership And Qualities Of A Leader
Follow the Leader How can one be a leader and not have the experience of a leader? Even with
experience, with any title we hold in life, there is some thought our training that got us to that
position. I have even heard some people are "naturally born leaders", they stand out from birth.
These individuals always want to make a difference and their strength is like Goliath. They never
limit their self by accepting defeat against anything. As they consistently turn negative into positive
giving motivation and hope to others around them. In my eyes everyone has a little leader inside
them, it just takes the right position, or the right mentor to bring it out of us. There are different
levels of leadership as well as different styles. In this writing assignment, I will talk about leadership
and qualities a leader should have in order to be an effective one. When it comes to the word leader,
I truly feel that it can be an individual definition. The beginning of the word is "Lead" which we
know means the head of something. Whoever is in the lead is winning and everyone else usually
follows the lead. The leader has a unique vision in mind, there is also something that he or she wants
to accomplish. They know how to take control and the right words to use for the situation for they
have a great purpose. To take people above and beyond and stand firm through any storm. For
instance we have individuals such as Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson who found it in
themselves to lead

Personal Leadership Qualities
Leadership is a characteristic that encompasses numerous qualities that are unique to each
individual. Over the years I have learned what it means to be a leader and to posses these qualities. I
have also learned that each individual has a unique perspective on what it means to be a leader and
this perspective is developed over years of failures and success. One of the most important qualities
a leader must posses is confidence. Confidence is important because a leader must have faith in
every decision that is being made as well as being able to make clear and concise decisions on the
spot. This quality is also a reflection of the individual and it is necessary possess because it also
gives others confidence to follow any actions or decisions needed to accomplish the task at hand. As

Leadership Qualities Of A Leader
Introduction
Leadership, as u can easily know the meaning from the word. It is basically a process where a
person influences others to ensure that they reach their goals, directs the organization towards
success. However, it also depends on how effective the leader is and on the followers' interests. It
can basically be termed as teamwork, where an individual (a leader) influences a group of people to
make sure that they achieve the goal.

I believe by knowing my strengths and weaknesses, it will help me to improve the quality of my

Strengths and Weaknesses
I will identify few of the strengths and weaknesses, which I found out through the research I did
about the ENFJs on the intranet. According to Keirsey & Bates, only 5% population in general has
the ENFJ leadership style. ENFJs may find themselves feeling responsible for the feelings of others
to an extent, which places a burden on the relationship (Keirsey & Bates, 1984).
I found some of the strengths in me, which is common for most of ENFJs. All the personalities are
not same and it may vary person to person though. One of the common strengths I found is I am a
very reliable and tolerant person and yes, this is very true of myself. People I know have trust on my
decision. They found me reliable and they know I am a very tolerant person in any strange
situations. I always listen to them, value their opinions and try to help and see it through. I am
always ready to take a stand and avoid the contradiction. Most ENFJs are like that and they usually
avoid contradictions. ENFJs are selfless and so am I. I didn't realize this quality in me before I did
the assessment of myself. I am concerned more about others' wishes and needs than my own. I

Leadership Qualities Of A Leadership

  • 1. Leadership Qualities Of A Leadership Introduction Nurses work in a variety of settings as informal and formal leaders, and must have the qualities of a strong leader. There are various styles of leaders and in order to choose and develop an appropriate style, individuals must identify leadership qualities that they possess and qualities that must be improved through reflective practice. By completing a baseline assessment of my clinical leadership skills and creating biweekly journals, I was able to identify a style of leadership that resonated with me. I implemented strategies to improve my weaknesses and conducted a self– evaluation at the end of the 8 weeks to see my growth and movement as a transformational leader. Strengths According to Kouzes & Posner (2002) five characteristics that followers expect from their leader is the ability to model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the heart (Kouzes & Posner, 2002). After conducting a baseline assessment of clinical leadership, I identified my strengths and areas for improvement (Appendix A). I scored high in the category of "inspiring a shared vision," and "encouraging the heart." Inspiring a shared vision entails that the leader is able to envision and create goals that followers care about and works towards collectively (Kouzes & Posner, 2002). In their meta–analysis of leadership styles, Eagly, Johannesen–Schmidt & van Engen (2003) emphasize that transformational leaders must put the goal of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Lcse Leadership Qualities For the entirety of my high school career, I have been a student in the Leadership Center for the Sciences and Engineering (LCSE) held at Norview High School. Being enrolled in this specialty program has strengthened and pushed me academically, as a leader, with public speaking, and as a service worker. Specifically, LCSE has developed my leadership skills and allowed me to become a more service–oriented leader. In the first year of the program, students take Leadership Foundations where the basics of leadership and the history of great leaders are taught. Then, in Advanced Leadership students model leadership skills by hosting holiday gatherings, being counselors for the LCSE Summer Orientation Camp, and completing 200 volunteering hours. Moreover, while taking the Leadership Foundations Class, there were many lessons that provided me with tools to be an efficient leader. However, when my teacher exposed the class to servant leadership, I immediately took interest in it. At this moment, I finally directed my leadership to embody the qualities of a servant leader. Some of which include: acting with humility, encouraging the new generation of young leaders, valuing diverse opinions, and serving others before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In previous years, the society failed to affect the community in a positive way; however, since I was shown that the only people who can make a difference are the ones that try, I knew I needed to promote this within the society. During meetings, I told members that in order to see change within the community, we have to act. Therefore, our first service was a Christmas food drive. When we donated the food to the FoodBank of Southeastern Virginia, they informed us that we fed 108 families. With this statistic, members realized that they too can affect the community, therefore, building their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Leadership Qualities Of An Organization Leadership Qualities Often times in an organization, leaders or managers tend to just want to complete an assignment or task without thinking about the positive or negative side effects that will have an impact on the product or individuals involved. The assignment may get completed, but not every individual has a clear understanding of their role. Information is not clearly communicated therefore not allowing others to provide ideas or feedback to the outcome of the assignment. • 4. Attila's Leadership Qualities Abstract Leadership is often defined as the ability to motivate a group of people to accomplish a task. Leaders, both good and evil, have been accomplishing this daunting task since the beginning of time. Which brings us to the question of the relationship between morality and leadership. When studying great leaders from history it is apparent that many men considered evil are also considered highly effective leaders. This indicates that the characteristics of an effective leader transcend morality. Three characteristics that are crucial to effective leadership and can be observed in leaders, both good and evil, include communication, courage and loyalty. Attila, regardless of the fact that he is often considered one of the cruelest men to have ever ruled, was fiercely loyal. Loyalty was considered of utmost importance to the Huns, especially to Attila who had been betrayed at a young age by Rugila which led to him being imprisoned by the Romans. Loyalty played an important role in Attila's leadership. His people knew that he was completely vested in them and his vision for the Huns. It was Attila's loyalty to his people that allowed him to come to power. Attila utilized emotional appeal to win the loyalty of the chieftains that he visited. Winning their loyalty made it possible for Attila to gain power. Attila's loyalty to the Huns was easily understood. He was one of them. He was born a Hun and was able to trace his lineage back some thirty odd generations. Dan Inouye could not do the same. He was a Nisei, a second generation Japanese American. I expect my Soldiers to exceed the standards set before them through critical thinking and sound discipline. My Soldiers will receive all the resources and tools to reach maximum potential. My goal is not only to improve the organization and Soldiers but myself as well. There are several key concepts that I base my leadership on: Character: Never compromise integrity, morals, or values. It only takes one incident to destroy trust and confidence. Soldiers and leaders may forgive but they never forget. One's reputation can open or close doors and is vital to a Soldier's career. Consistency: Every Soldier deserves respect and candid leadership. Favoritism and ostracism are damaging to morale and productivity. Clear and concise expectations and standards give Soldiers a foundation to build on. Leadership can not only be by a formal role or title, but a presence and an empowerment quality that motivates others around them to strive to succeed. A nurse with the quality of leadership has proven to be extremely influential in the care of a patient. In the clinical setting, I exhibit leadership by advocating for my patients, practicing to the best of my ability, utilizing my time and resources, practice adequate communication skills, and recognizing the hard work of my peers. • 9. Leadership Qualities Analysis Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by all kinds of positive influences. I have grown up in a firm, Christian household and I have been involved in many different organizations and events that require good leadership skills. Therefore through my previous experience, I believe that three of the most important qualities of leadership is communication, creativity, and commitment. Communication is important when it comes to leadership especially when working with others. Sometimes I have difficulty asking for help from others when working in a group or being apart of a club. I tend to believe I can do everything on my own so I rarely ask for help from others. But recently I have learned that asking for help is important for keeping my sanity and getting the job done in the best and most efficient way. I become so overwhelmed with everything that I am doing, and I tend to get very stressed and exhausted. There are times when, I do admit, I should have asked for help because I had bitten off way too much for me to chew, but I didn't. I thought I can do everything on my own without the help of anyone else. • 10. Personal Leadership Qualities And Qualities There are many different theories and approaches developed, that help determine personal leadership qualities and actions. Each approach holds valuable information in relation to leadership styles and qualities, yet you must find the approaches that appeal to you when attempting to determine your own leadership qualities. The skills approach and authentic leadership approach were the most appealing for me. I choose these two approaches because I believe that it is very important to be an authentic leader, as well as to have the knowledge to do the job asked of you and for you to be able to teach your followers. "Leadership is a combination of intrinsic personality traits, learned leadership skills, and characteristics of the situation" (Cherry, B., & Jacob, S. R., 2014, p. 287). You never know when you can be viewed as a leader to someone else, regardless of your position and title. Knowing where you stand in your leadership qualities will help you throughout your career. Primary concepts The skills approach to leadership places importance on the actual capabilities and knowledge of the leader. Within this approach, it is thought that anyone can be taught the qualities it takes to become a leader. There are three different types of skill qualities involved within this approach, the technical skill, human skill, and conceptual skill. The technical skill looks at the ability of a person to actually do the job. The human skill focuses on the way a person interacts with people. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Leadership Qualities Of A Leader A Leader A leader is a person who guides a group with through a situation. A leader's actions and words will determine his or her reputation as a leader. Good leaders possess similar characteristics, such as strong organizational skill, trustworthy, approachable and a visionary. A good leader has the ability to use his or her team members' strengths to enhance a group's productivity. Along with being able to successfully manage groups of people, a good leader must possess the ability to inspire, encourage, challenge and support the people around them. Under good leadership people will rise to challenge and surpass expectations. Throughout my 12 years of teaching, I have encountered many leaders, some great and some with subpar abilities to lead. While I always strive to maintain a consistently high level of teaching each year, I know my teaching level and skills definitely increased under great leadership. Skills I obtained while working with great leaders has provided me with knowledge that I have been able to retain and utilize when relocating from one location of the country to another. Good Leader During my five years at a small California school district, I had the privilege to work for an amazing superintendent. • 12. Coxswain Leadership Qualities "Come on, you can do it! You're not trying hard enough, pull harder!" These are the words of a born leader, or so I thought. At age ten, I signed up for my first rowing camp ready to step in a boat and row. Since I am the youngest in my family, I was always looked down upon as the "baby". I was looking for an opportunity to be seen as a leader on the team. When focusing on the meaning an association creates, the mission helps prioritize projects and contributes a structure for decision– making. I believe my dad has vision and leadership because he is an architect. When he is doing that he has to plan out spreadsheets and documents to help him visualize what it's going to look like and how much it's going to cost. He led the workers that were building the house to make it perfectly because his vision of how it was going to be was understandable. He visualized what it would look like once it was built, what he needed, and how much it would cost. He has leadership because he told the workers to build what his vision of the house and they followed exactly what he said. Titles do not automatically make you a great leader; I consider myself a great leader because of my integrity, dependability, and my ability to work hard not because of the titles I have. I have demonstrated my integrity throughout my life. When my AP Calculus teacher passed back a test, I noticed that she had not taken off a point on an incorrect answer so I told her about the mistake and consequently lost one point. I also demonstrated integrity and credibility when I returned a lost wallet. As a leader, I have demonstrated dependability. I have been a trumpet section leader for the past two years in the Lincoln High School Marching Band. During marching band camp, I always carried supplies with me and the other trumpets could always rely on me if they forgot their sunscreen or valve oil or if they got hurt and needed a band aid. Another way I demonstrated dependability is by showing up fifteen minutes early to all of the band practices. My exceptional work ethic and my commitment to success are some other reasons why I consider myself a great leader. I have demonstrated my work ethic by working over eight hours to make sure my eight–page lab report is perfect. I have demonstrated my dedication to success by helping other trumpeters in my section. During marching band camp, I met with any of the trumpeters that did not have their music memorized an hour before practice or during our lunch break and helped them to memorize their music. If any of the trumpeters were having trouble with any of the marching, I would stay late and work one on one with them. I was committed to making our section better and ergo making the marching band better. I was able to change the trumpet section's reputation from being one of the worst at ... • 36. The Qualities Of Leadership And Teaching Extraordinary teachers and leaders are a gift to the schools that they serve. Years of dedication, passion, and persistence make these individuals. No one is born with the intrinsic ability to be dynamic. Some people have a predisposition for leadership and teaching, but the very best leaders and teachers are those who have worked hard and who have learned many lessons on the road to success. Each of us can make the choice to become great leaders and teachers. We can embrace research–based strategies and take actions to become not only accomplished but exemplary. I have been fortunate enough to work in buildings that have had leaders that inspire trust and instill confidence. Some of the leaders that I have taught under have had very dynamic personalities that were almost autocratic, but because of their air of authority, people followed them fearlessly. I have also worked under leaders that were more democratic in nature and that encouraged others to become leaders and to be invested in the running of the school. In both situations, the schools were very successful and the student outcomes top–notch. Barnett Berry, founder of the Center for Teaching Quality, states that many different styles of leadership work, but he found the administrators that accept teacher leaders and share the task of creating a vibrant and successful school, leave behind a legacy of success (Berry, youtube video). As new leaders in the school, we will reach accomplished and exemplary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will try to overcome my weaknesses with the strengths I have. Strengths and Weaknesses I will identify few of the strengths and weaknesses, which I found out through the research I did about the ENFJs on the intranet. According to Keirsey & Bates, only 5% population in general has the ENFJ leadership style. ENFJs may find themselves feeling responsible for the feelings of others to an extent, which places a burden on the relationship (Keirsey & Bates, 1984). I found some of the strengths in me, which is common for most of ENFJs. All the personalities are not same and it may vary person to person though. One of the common strengths I found is I am a very reliable and tolerant person and yes, this is very true of myself. People I know have trust on my decision. They found me reliable and they know I am a very tolerant person in any strange situations. I always listen to them, value their opinions and try to help and see it through. I am always ready to take a stand and avoid the contradiction. Most ENFJs are like that and they usually avoid contradictions. ENFJs are selfless and so am I. I didn't realize this quality in me before I did the assessment of myself. I am concerned more about others' wishes and needs than my own.
