6. LEADERSHIP Styles
There are many ways to lead and every
leader has his or her own style.
Some of the more common styles include
autocratic, bureaucratic, democratic, and
laissez-faire.
8. Autocratic leadership Style
This leader is given the power to make decisions alone,
having total authority. This leadership style includes close
supervision when people perform certain tasks.
Limitations:
High Stress and more dependence on leaders to make all
decisions time of crisis high turnover and absenteeism.
9. Democratic Leadership Style
This style involves the leader including one or more
people in the decision making process
(determining what to do and how to do it).
However, the leader maintains the final decision making
authority.
In an autocratic leadership, the leader might say, ‘I want
both of you to work on X
project’, but, in a democratic leadership, the same leader
would say, ‘Let’s work on the X project together’.
10. Democratic Leadership Style
Limitations:
Slower decision making
Communication gap is In case of uneducated/ unskilled
worker, it reduced. is not very effective.
More individual responsibility high sense of personal
growth and job satisfaction.
11. Laissez-Faire Leadership Style
In this style, the leader allows the people to make
their own decisions.
However, the leader is still responsible for the
decisions that are made.
This style allows greater freedom and responsibility
You need competent people around you.
12. Laissez-Faire Leadership Style
Limitations:
Less group productivity.
This leadership style poorer quality of work.
Works only when the employees are skilled
Less personal growth.
Loyal, experienced and Who takes credit or blame.
13. Bureaucratic Leadership Style
Bureaucratic leadership is where the manager
manages "by the book¨ .
Everything must be done according to procedure
or policy. This manager is really more of a police
officer than a leader. He or she enforces the rules
