influence and guide others
towards a common goal or
vision. A great leader is
someone who inspires and
motivates their team,
communicates effectively, and
is accountable for their
actions.

Integrity: Integrity is
described as honesty and
truthfulness or accuracy of
one’s action
Vision/Strategy: The vision is
a goal. Strategy is an action
plan to achieve the vision.
Communication: Leaders need to learn
to be proficient in both the
communications that informs and seeks
out information(Give them a voice) and
the communication that connects
interpersonally with others.
Relationship: A leader who likes dealing
with people issues, who can initiate and
deepen relationships with others, has a
great leadership advantage. This is a
leader who can build the team and
achieve impressive results.
Teamwork: Nobody can do it all. That’s
why a team, comprised of different skill
sets is essentials. A leader must know
how to build and nurture such a team. A
good leader knows when to be a leader
and when follower. The best leaders are
good followers also.
Adaptability: Adaptability is a soft skill
that means you easily adjust to changing
circumstances. An adaptable leader in
the workplace can keep up with moving
priorities, projects, clients, and
technology. They're skilled at dealing with
changes at work and plan to achieve the
goal.
Coaching or Development: Developing
others is an important role of a leader.
Encouraging others to expand their
capabilities and take on additional
assignments is part of the leader’s
responsibility. Leaders who feel
threatened by the capabilities of others
are challenged in this area.
Decision Making: Decision making
is the process of making choices by
identifying a decision, gathering
information, and assessing
alternative resolutions.
Planning: Planning involves making certain
assumptions about the future and taking
actions in the present to positively influence the
future. To plan means to focus more
strategically. Plans are important for guidance
and focus, but plans can be seldom be cast in
stone. Planning is an excellent and necessary
leadership skill.
Leadership Styles
Leadership style is the pattern which a leader
adopts. There are 3 styles:
 Autocratic Leadership: Autocratic leadership is a
management style wherein one person controls all
the decisions and takes very little inputs from
other group members. Autocratic leaders make
choices or decisions based on their own beliefs
and do not involve others for their suggestion or
advice.
 Democratic Leadership: A democratic leader is
someone who asked for input and considers
feedback from their team before making a
decision. This leadership style is often credited
with fostering higher levels of employee
engagement and workplace satisfaction.
 Free Rein Leadership: Type of leadership style in
which leaders are hands-off and allow group
members to make the decisions. Managers set
objectives, and employees are free to do whatever
is appropriate to accomplish those objectives.
Ways to develop leadership qualities
 Learn to think more critically.
 Do more to motivate your team.
 Make your goals SMART.
 Communicate clearly.
 Improve speaking skill.
 Organize and allocate workflow.
 Ensure work is done correctly and on time.
 Find better ways to do things.
 Encourage progress and recognise efforts.
 Build team spirit.
 Encourage people to work cooperatively.
 Recognize success and learn from failure.
 Trust your subordinates.
