2. CARTOON
Cartoon, this is a
mouse however in a
carton format it will
look exaggerated and
in real life a mouse
wont look like this, it
definitely wont smile
and stand on two feet.
Cartoon also uses a different
variety of bright colours to
make the characters in the
cartoon stand out, a rat
would be grey or white but
this one is brown with
massive pink ears.
In this image no text has
been used, so the main
focus for us is to look at
how the cartoon is
presenting the character
This is photo is of a character called
Jerry, Jerry is a mouse from a well
known TV show (Tom & Jerry). In this TV
show we can witness the two character
fighting and arguing, this show is in the
genre cartoon as we can see. Cartoon
shows originated back in the late 1970s
due to computer programmes needed
to make this possible
3. FUTURISTIC
Futuristic involves
ultra modern things
that could be added
into our life's in the
future such as massive
spaceship shown on
the poster
It also involves robots,
robots are predicted
to be part of our life's
soon or later so this
would mean this
poster is futuristic.
Text is in the bottom corner
however it doesn’t really
impact the poster, the
typography used wouldn’t
really attract our eyes to it,
plus we are more drawn onto
the futuristic objects in the
image E.g. Robots and
spaceships
The colours don’t
really stand out as it’s
a dark image itself,
it’s a gloomy picture
and barely explains
much
Futuristic movies and videos have been around for almost a hundred years,
however every time a new one is out it seems to be more futuristic than the
old one. This poster here is of a film which brought in 198.5 million USD,
Total Recall was one of the best futuristic films in 2012, arguably the
directors of many futuristic films claim this movie to be more futuristic
than most out there.
4. PHOTOREALISM
Photorealism in this
image is hard to spot as
the images are similar.
Both of the pictures look
real however the right
one is drawn by an artist
this is why its called
photorealism.
This image does not contain
text as we spot photorealism
without a title or a text
explaining what it is.
Both of the colours on these
images look identical and
has not been modified,
however we can tell the
difference if we pay extra
attention to the images
clearly.
These images are analysed
so it can be duplicated by
an artist, there is no
composition in the image
and our main point of
focus is the slight
difference in each picture.
It also does not include
text so they would be no
typography included
Photorealism barely consists of highly powerful computers, but instead is consists of
highly talented artist who have abilities to reproduce an exact copy of a original piece
whether it’s any type of photo. This picture here is the same however it has the slight
differences if not payed attention clearly identifying these will be hard, definitely get
mistaken over which one is the original. Photorealism have been about for a very long
time, since art was invented however computer photorealism have been about since the
software's/programmes were available.
5. COMPARISON
Cartoons are produced to entertain really young audience however it is also
enjoyable for young adults as it was part of their childhood. When growing
up you find more genres more entertaining. Futuristic movies have identical
features to cartoons, one massive feature they both have is to exaggerate
the content. Exaggerating the content would be done in their own way, in
futuristic the content is exaggerated to an extent where everything in the
moving image product is futuristic E.G. flying cars, roads in the sky, robots
and many other features. In cartoons we have a well known cartoon called
Tom & Jerry which is extremely exaggerated in a way to make the audience
believe that fighting (brutally) is normal and everything will be fine. Also the
most common activities in cartoon that prove the exaggeration is extreme is
when the animals start speaking, a great example would be Madagascar
which is about animals and somehow these animals have the ability to
speak. On the other hand we have the futuristic genre that contains
exaggerated futuristic content. However photorealism is a whole different
level, this can bring a dead person back to life. In movies (Fast and furious 7)
photorealism was used to bring back the dead actor Paul Walker, it was used
alongside CGI this is another form of photorealism. This is mostly used in
