Palanan Essay
Palanan is a barangay located in Makati City. What makes this area interesting is that it is situated
between places of interest like Manila and Pasay City. And because of its location, it grants travelers
an easy access to and from numerous cities.
At a Glance
Palanan is one of the 7 barangays that composes Makati's Westside cluster. Because of Palanan's
barangay status, its surroundings is a mixture of residential and commercial properties. Apart from
the houses that are built right next to each other, there are dozens of basketball courts and day care
centers scattered around the area. Additionally, schools (both public and private) can also be seen
along the roads. The biggest landmark in Palanan, however, would be the Cash & Carry Mall at
Filmore st.
How to Go
Byland transportation
Since the city of Makati has neither a port nor airline, getting to Palanan by land is the only option
you have. The quickest way to get to Palanan from Manila is to take a taxi, Grab, or Uber. You can

Makati and Manila are nearby, and there is no doubt that these cities are riddled with malls and other
shops. Each type of mall caters to a specific consumer, so the prices of their items and the variations
of their stalls differ. If you are looking for consumer–friendly prices, go to malls like SM City
Manila, SM Makati, or The Landmark. For high–end items, visit malls such as Century City Malls,
Greenbelt, or SM Mall of Asia. If you want to stay within Palanan's boundary there is the Cash &
Carry along Filmore st. if you wish to get groceries nearby. There is also the Legazpi Sunday Market
at Herrera st. cor Legazpi and Salcedo V.A Rufino. Open every Sunday, this market offers visitors an
international atmosphere within a small parking lot. You can eat dishes coming from Indonesia,
France, Germany, and the Philippines, as well as shop for items and trinkets to bring

Advertising and Promotion Essay 2
Advertising is producing information for promoting the sale of products or services while promotion
is an advancement of a product or a point of view through publicity or advertising whereas trend is
defined as a general direction in which something is developing or changing according to time line.
There are differences between advertising and promotion despite the fact that both of these
marketing tools use many of the same techniques and apply it for the very similar ends. Primary
objective of advertising is to create an enduring brand image while for promotion; it is to get sales
quickly or to induce trial. Also, advertising is used to increase sales in a long term and it is vice
versa for promotion. Advertising is not personal but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

elements of Zara's capabilities that build value in the company.
The success path – Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning * Positioned as a fast fashion brand
globally, Zara, targets the mid–market. * Zara 's core TG in the country consists of people familiar
with the brand much before it entered the country. They are well travelled and aware about global
fashion trends * High import duties ensure that the pricing of Zara remains premium * Does not
invest in advertising, and largely relies on PR * It has clearly chosen the locations – high–end malls

Zara 's Strategy for Growth and Positioning
Zara believes in Zero advertising. It would rather spend on store expansion than to advertise.

dominant position in China's online consumer–to–consumer (C2C) market. Ma and his company
had come a long way since May 2003, when they first launched the Taobao website. Back then,
eBay China dominated the fledgling market, holding over 70 percent share. It had entered China
with its acquisition of the start–up EachNet, and was actively building upon ... Show more content

Debit cards were common in China, with about 300 million cards issued by mid–2001. However,
each city had a separate payment gateway to process these cards, so a card from one city often could
not be used at the issuing bank's system in another city. 4 This lack of integration made it very
difficult for auction sites to handle debit card payments online. The credit card option was even
worse. Because China's credit system was not developed, Chinese banks were cautious about issuing
cards and the application process was complicated. By 2001, there were only about 25 million credit
cards issued in China, accounting for less than 1 percent of consumer spending (compared to about
25 percent in the U.S.), and credit cards were accepted at only about 3 percent of China's shops. As
the need for better credit card services intensified in the early 2000s, various institutions responded.
In 2001, Bank of China and China Construction Bank started accepting credit card applications
online. At the same time, a large number of credit verification companies emerged to help banks
work around the lack of a personal credit scoring system in China. These companies checked the
backgrounds of applicants through various channels, including meeting the applicants in person. In
February 2002, the People's Bank of China, China's central bank, announced a project to enable the
four largest banks to process cards across cities and banks. In the wake of these changes, China's

Retail segment of banking has brought products and services closer to customers at school
campuses, hospitals, shopping malls, and petrol stations. Service payment of utilities, payment of
mobile phone unit transfers, payment of insurance fees and money transfers have characterised retail
service delivery in the industry. Other electronic transactions such as e–cards, e–statements, credit
cards, debit cards and visa cards have been widely introduced into commercial banking service
delivery.
Competition is forcing the banks to dialogue and consider sharing service delivery platforms as a
way of reducing cost and delivering more value to customers. EZI Cash is a common automated
teller machine (ATM) platform shared by Ecobank, SCBGL and SG–SSB. The EZI Cash can be
found at Shell filling stations and Nandos Food Courts. Some banks have also developed off site
ATMs that can be found at petrol filling stations, hospitals, stadia and some market centers. This
collaboration has moved some of these banks to higher level of total networking and service
delivery irrespective of where the customer banks. Increased competition and customer
sophistication has also forced banks to pay attention to client needs through improved customer
service and the introduction of products that meet the needs of customers. As such, banks are
tailoring products to better suit the needs of retail and corporate clients. Some of the new products
include mortgage

Henry Sy
Our company, SM, as many of you may already know, came from the hard work of my dad, Henry
Sy, Sr. It is a rags to riches story that even myself did not realize until I went to trace his roots in
China.
His journey from the thatched hut I saw there to the shopping centers he has today is something that
amazes even myself.
His determination, his discipline and his thriftiness have produced an astute and street smart
businessman who has influenced a lot of people. Including us, his children.
My father's perseverance during the different crises our country has gone through has made our
active business pursuits possible for a half century. True, he was disappointed with the economy

We opened our first department store in 1972, two months after Martial Law was declared. The
business had a slow start, but progressed steadily. During the Martial Law years, he continued to
open more department stores, reaching a point wherein he could not get space he needed in the
existing shopping centers during that time. He then decided think long term, and invest in properties
for malls, which were patterned after suburban shopping centers, which he had been studying for
some time.
When we started the construction of our first mall in 1983, the Philippines was in the midst of a debt
moratorium and experienced hyper inflation. The economy decline was further aggravated by the
assassination of Ninoy Aquino. Many bankers predicted our demise because my dad came from
nowhere – he may had a few department stores and shoe stores at that time, but he was not one of
the financial heavy–weights at that time.
Unaffected by criticism, and armed with sheer determination and optimism, he persisted and opened
in 1985 with our department store and supermarket and a few tenants. Many potential lessees were
saying no to lease offers.
At about the same time, given the social unrest of the times, our own Shoemart Makati was faced
with ugly strikes. He almost gave up, but through the encouragement of his employees and
customers, he continued. At that time, he decided emotionally draining disturbances should not

Narrative Vacation
Over the summer, my family and I travelled to Manila, the capital of the Philippines for three days.
It was already 90 degrees and dreadfully humid once we arrived. My body started to sweat
profusely, making me drink a gallon of water in less than a minute. Not only that, traffic was
horrendous. Traffic lights were nonexistent, vendors were knocking on the windows trying to sell
newspapers, and people in their jeepney were screaming, "Go! Go! Go!" All of this was not new to
us, however. We lived here for two years, then moved to America when I was seven years old. Many
view "vacation" as a time for relaxation and living the lavish life, but for me it was a realization of
how I should be grateful for my life. Hours before the flight, I felt ecstatic. I was ready to spend my
hard earned paychecks on new clothing and shoes. We arrived at five in the morning the following
day and it took almost an hour to arrive at my relative's house. My sister and I were surprised by the
housing conditions. It reminded me of favelas in Brazil. Houses were cramped, the power kept on
turning off and on, trash was everywhere, and roofs were leaking. We were terrified, wondering if
this place was safe, but my parents did not care. They were too busy laughing and telling stories
with one another. Early afternoon, I was excited to take a nap on a Tempur Pedic quality bed, but it
was not what I expected. It felt as if I was sleeping on cardboard while sandpaper is rubbing Libed 2

Businesses are facing increasing difficulty to recruit both skilled as well as unskilled workers
Evaluation of Market Potential Thailand is facing an increase competition in labour–intensive
industries because of growing population at faster pace in neighbouring. To have competitive
advantage, Thailand must improve its quality of education and also develop the necessary skills to
improve the value–added chain. The growth of real GDP is expected to range from 4.0% to 5.0% in
medium term. The government is also trying to tackle the increasing differences in the income
distribution to ease the political tensions. Government's increased spending on flood–prevention
programme and development of basic infrastructure should drive the economy, at least by the year
2013. Constructions Sectors, building material manufacturers and the banks are likely to benefit
from the government spending plans. It is expected that potential output can rise from 3.5% in 2011
to 5% in the medium term only if infrastructure is improved and if development potential in the
lagging areas is tapped. Thailand is already experiencing a shift in retail buying habits in urban
areas. Buddhist temples and mosques serves as centre of community life in rural Thai areas, but
large cities like Bangkok have experienced a retail "revolution" which has witness large department
malls – and also more recently hypermarkets – which now emerges as primary focus for social as
well as community life. The

The Body Shop
Introduction There is success in body care. Behold the Body Shop, one of the famous international
cosmetics brand. It is not just one's ordinary shop for body or hair care. It is extraordinary just as its
pioneer. The entrepreneur assessed in this paper is in no way or another connected to me. Personal
Profile
The name behind the Body Shop, a famous cosmetic line for decades now, is Anita Roddick. On
October 23, 1942 in Littlehampton, Sussex, England marks her birth to an immigrant Italian family.
After completing her degree at the Newton Park College of education, she worked as a part–time
teacher and for the United Nations in Geneva. She traveled to different places like Tahiti, New
Hebrides, New Caledonia, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She risked selling alternative body care products. Nevertheless, she dealt with it with optimism. In
order to face success, it is of crucial importance to think of the ways by which the business model
will thrive in the marketplace. Another is to assess the strengths and opportunities of the business.
Lastly, it is always important to innovate, as this has always described entrepreneurs (Baghai, Coley,
and White, 2000). Innovations are proven to increase the business' performance. During Christmas
last year, upon launching a new product, i.e. a strong Christmas gift range, and improving customer
services, operating profits from the division boosted to 17% to ₤11.7 million (Geary, 2005). This is a
recent event in the innovation strategies of Body Shop. Schumpeter (1939), as cited in Mintrom,
Schneider and Teske (1995), asserts that an entrepreneur functions to innovate, which means
devising new production function out of the existing factors of production. In simpler terms, an
entrepreneur is one who introduces a new product or a product that deviates from the ordinary. Such
is the basic idea or definition of an entrepreneur from which its modern definitions have developed.
Apart from the above, there is something about the packaging of the Body Shop products. Roddick
started with small bottles since that was what she was complaining on. According to Kassaye and

Shopping Mall Research Paper

Shopping mall
A shopping mall, shopping centre, shopping arcade, shopping precinct or simply mall is one or more
buildings forming a complex of shops representing merchandisers, with interconnecting walkways
enabling visitors to easily walk from unit to unit, along with a parking area – a modern, indoor
version of the traditional marketplace.
Modern "car–friendly" strip malls developed from the 1920s, and shopping malls corresponded with
the rise of suburban living in many parts of the Western World, especially the United States,
afterWorld War II. From early on, the design tended to be inward–facing, with malls following

History
Numerous covered shopping arcades, such as the 19th–century Al–Hamidiyah Souq in
Damascus,Syria, can be considered precursors to the present–day shopping mall.[4] Isfahan's Grand
Bazaar, which is largely covered, dates from the 10th century. The 10 kilometer long covered
Tehran's Grand Bazaar also has a long history. The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul was built in the 15th
century and is still one of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 58 streets and
4,000 shops.
Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg, which opened in 1785, may be regarded as one of the first
purposely–built mall–type shopping complexes, as it consisted of more than 100 shops covering an
area of over 53,000 m2 (570,000 sq ft).
The Oxford Covered Market in Oxford, England opened in 1774 and still runs today.
The Burlington Arcade in London was opened in 1819. The Arcade in Providence, Rhode Island
introduced the retail arcade concept to the United States in 1828. This was a forerunner of today's
shopping mall [5] The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy followed in the 1870s and is
closer to large modern malls in spaciousness. Other

Due Diligencer is posing here a few queries that only Henares and her chosen expert, and hopefully
honest, tax examiners could properly explain. She need not worry about the repercussion of any
explanation she could provide Due Diligencer. She is assured that the queries revolve around the use
of percentages in GDI's 2007–2007 financial reports. Did Due Diligencer pick GDI in random for
this piece? To tell Henares the truth, it did not. Having been told that GDI has been making over a
billion pesos a year in selling Dunkin' Donuts, it got curious how on earth a company could make
billions selling donuts despite the competition posed to it by Mister Donut and the few "small
others" such as Country Style, a Canadian brand which Due Diligencer first tasted while vacationing
in Canada in 2001. But before the story behind the percentages GDI used in computing franchise
fees and royalties, Due Diligencer would try to analyze the company's 2007 financial filing that
shows its revenues climbed 12.92 percent to P1.17 billion from P1.04 billion in 2006. Of said
revenues, sale of goods–meaning Dunkin Donuts–topped P1 billion at P1.03 billion, up 13.17
percent from P911.49 million. The other contributors to GDI's revenues in 2007 and 2006 were
royalties, P133.19 million, up 18.4 percent from P112.492 million; and franchise income, which
dropped 39.30 percent from P16.22 million. In 2007, GDI reported tax expense which increased
11.6 percent to P31.987 million from P28.66

A Five Year Marketing Plan For Tulip Clothing
1. Executive Summary
This five–year marketing plan for Tulip Clothing has been created to secure additional funding for
growth and to inform employees of the company's current status and direction. Although Tulip was
launched in the UAE only three years ago, the firm has experienced greater–than–anticipated
demand for its products, and research has shown that the target market of sport–minded consumers
and sports retailers would like to buy more casual clothing than Tulip currently offers. In addition,
Tulip plans to explore opportunities for online sales. The marketing environment has been very
receptive to the firm's high–quality goods – casual clothing in trendy colours with logos and slogans
that reflect the interests of outdoor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By forming strong relationships with consumers, retailers, and suppliers of fabric and other goods
and services, Tulip believes it can create a sustainable competitive advantage over its rivals. No
other clothing company can say to its customers with as much conviction "Let's Rock!".
5. Situation Analysis
The marketing environment for Tulip represents overwhelming opportunities. It also contains some
challenges that the firm believes it can meet successfully. A SWOT analysis of the company
highlights Tulip's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Drawing the right conclusions
from a SWOT analysis is the most important purpose of performing the analysis (Kotler 2009).
Strengths:
Tulip's dedicated founders understand the target market and product.
Tulip has achieved distribution in several markets with quick acceptance.
Tulip has very little debts with great potential for growth.
Tulip works with a single manufacturer, allowing high quality control levels.
Weaknesses:
Tulip's founders may lose sight of the potential scope of the business.
A limited number of consumers around UAE are aware of the Tulip brand.
The firm has limited cash flow.
Tulip relies on a single manufacturer which limits the production capacity if the firm wants to
expand.
Opportunities:
Tulip's loyal customers are likely to buy more products.
Gaps exist in the UAE market that can be filled with new products such as customized clothing
items and luggage.

Thus, the use and importance of mobile advertising is likely to grow in the future.
It is unlikely that mobile technology will be rich enough to support the amount of content or the
quality of visual we associate with print or electronic media advertising.
More likely, it will take the form of short text messages intended to inform, remind, or notify
consumers. Thus, it can best be used to support relationships with existing customers rather than to
be used to attempt to acquire new consumers (Perlado & Barwise, in press). For example, mobile
advertising may help to remind consumers to make a purchase or to provide information for
immediate consumer decisions.
Perhaps the major advantage of mobile advertising is that it is able to reach people at exactly the
moment they are making purchase decisions. For example, it can be used to provide information
about sales promotions at the time of purchase to help sway consumer choices for parity products.
Short Messaging Advertising
In the United States, there is not yet sufficient text messaging ads or text messaging to cause service
disruptions. Only recently have the major wireless carriers agreed to let their customers send text
messages to one another (Shachtman, 2002).
Competing standards (global system for mobile communications versus code division multiple
access), fragmented systems, and lack of variety in calling plans are all cited as reasons for the

Harvard Business School 9–796–077 Rev. February 25, 1999 Toys "R" Us Japan I do not believe the
Japanese have chosen freely to have these limitations. All we would have to do is open a large retail
store where prices were 40% less and choices were very broad. If the Japanese consumer didn 't like

Marketing Strategy of Samsung Mobile
Objective
To study the marketing strategy and gain an insight on Samsung Mobile India
Samsung Group
The Samsung Group is South Korea's largest company or chaebol and the world's second largest
conglomerate by revenue, leading several industries in the world. It is composed of numerous
international businesses, all united under the Samsung brand, including Samsung Electronics, the
world's largest electronics company, Samsung Heavy Industries, one of the world's largest
shipbuilders and Samsung Engineering & Construction, a major global construction company. These
three multinationals form the core of Samsung Group and reflect its name – the meaning of the
Korean word Samsung is "tristar" or "three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lee Byung–Chul founded Samsung in 1938. It started as a small trading company with forty
employees, located in Seoul. The company did fairly well until the Communist invasion in 1950
which caused great damage to his inventories. He was forced to leave and start over in Suwon in
1951. In just a year, the company's assets had grown twentyfold. In 1953, Lee created a sugar
refinery–the South Korea's first manufacturing facility after the Korean War. "The company

H & M 's Target Market Range Age Group Essay
Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) is one of the largest clothing retailers worldwide. Their target market
range age group is about 0–40 years old, but is most popular for those 15–30 years old. The brand
reputation has achieved the assumption that their goal is to offer fashionable clothing at a reasonable
price. Their clothing is always on trend, and sold at an affordable price from about $0.80 to $450.
H&M buys stock in large columns to keep prices affordable for their average consumer. They
partake in many collaborations with designers and celebrities, such as, David Beckham, Alexander
Wang, and the most recent, Kenzo, as well as many more. They have worked to achieve a quick and
well established system with stores all around the world, and a large consumer variety. H&M is
regularly featured in respectable fashion magazines, such as Vogue and Elle. The following shows
all of the countries a customer is able to shop from on the online website.
With H&M's many strengths come many weaknesses. Although buying in large amounts keeps
prices affordable, it can also lead to overstocking, and later the lowering of an already affordable
price, as well as a lack of control over product production. Uncontrollably, their target customer
base is highly affected by the changing macro economic conditions. They are new to the United
States online store compared to their competitors (Gap, Zara, Forever 21). Their clothing is usually
not original due to how they follow the trends of luxury brands on

Sanitary Napkins Situational Analysis
SITUATION ANALYSIS Introduction Over the years, women have used different forms of
feminine protection during their menstrual period such as menstrual aprons, knitted pads, and even
rags. In the Philipppines, women used a cotton cloth called the pasadora. Eventually, the disposable
pad was born, the first ones appearing to have been first commercially available from around 1895
through Curads and Hartmann's. Disposable pads started with nurses using their wood pulp
bandages to catch their menstrual flow, creating a pad that was made from easily obtainable
materials and inexpensive enough to throw away after use. Kimberly–Clark's Kotex appears to be
the first of the early disposable pads to take off in the market. Several of the first ... Show more

This pulled down volume growth to an extent while resulting in faster value movement. A portion of
Filipinas of menstrual age have growing appreciation for these products, since they offer a certain
value–added appeal, luring some consumers despite its higher price.  However, the demand for
these innovative products continues to be challenged by the majority of the Philippine population
being increasingly budget conscious going into 2005. As such, the rising popularity of simpler yet
cheaper brands stole away from these more expensive brands, boosting volume growth up on the
whole, resulting in an overall stronger volume and value growth for sanitary protection in 2005. 
Standard towels with wings is tied with ultra–thin towels with wings in terms of posting best volume
growth of all sanitary protection in 2005 thanks to wings' perceived versatility efficacy on the
whole. More Filipinas are switching from non–wing to wing towels, and there are also a portion of
new consumers going straight for the wing variants from the get go. An overflow of successful
awareness campaigns on the usage of wings even before the review period is to thank for Filipinas'
increasingly positive perception on wings.  On the whole, ultra–thin towels also fared better than
its standard counterparts in both

Proscenium and Concert
Title: Planning a concert particularly its facilities
Thesis statement: A concert would not be possible without considering the importance of an
organized and well–equipped facility.
Successful concerts are what performers and organizer and audiences all hope for. This not only
means the thoughtful programming of quality music, but also a smoothly run performance and
production. Therefore, a lot of planning and making sure that everything is in order is the key to a
successful all–out concert (Hudson, 2012). According to Vertudez, one of our interviewees,
"Planning ahead of time [is the most important thing in organizing an event]. There could be some
difficulties in setting up the facilities if you would not plan ahead ... Show more content on

Currently, the Philippines has only two main concert venues that can occupy 10, 000 people–
specifically, the Smart Araneta Coliseum and the SM Mall of Asia Arena. In 2014, the Philippine
Arena is expected to be opened in Bulacan. Even if it is being built by a religious congregation, the
said venue can still be available for other big events for it has 50, 000 sitting capacity. These venues
have comfortable seats and strict policies which make them best concert venues in the city. They
have more available facilities than open concert grounds because of sufficient air–conditioning
systems and well–maintained toilets. All of these are considered to put up concert facilities
(Concepcion, 2011).
In order for a concert to be possible, it is necessary to need a committee. It is an important factor to
consider having to appoint a management team to ensure that the facilities in the concert are in good
condition. Furthermore, the team responsible in organizing the facilities should also be divided into
specific sections. For instance in the checking of acoustics, taking care of the number of seats as
well as the arrangement of it, decorating the whole venue and also the people who will be
responsible for cleaning the venue after the event. To greatly ensure and to be able to control the
whole production, setting up meetings regularly would absolutely help. Weeks or even months
before the actual event, everything should all be planned and set–upped. Considering

Debit cards were common in China, with about 300 million cards issued by mid–2001. However, each city had a separate payment gateway to process these cards, so a card from one city often could not be used at the issuing bank's system in another city. 4 This lack of integration made it very difficult for auction sites to handle debit card payments online. The credit card option was even worse. Because China's credit system was not developed, Chinese banks were cautious about issuing cards and the application process was complicated. By 2001, there were only about 25 million credit cards issued in China, accounting for less than 1 percent of consumer spending (compared to about 25 percent in the U.S.), and credit cards were accepted at only about 3 percent of China's shops. As the need for better credit card services intensified in the early 2000s, various institutions responded. In 2001, Bank of China and China Construction Bank started accepting credit card applications online. At the same time, a large number of credit verification companies emerged to help banks work around the lack of a personal credit scoring system in China. These companies checked the backgrounds of applicants through various channels, including meeting the applicants in person. In February 2002, the People's Bank of China, China's central bank, announced a project to enable the four largest banks to process cards across cities and banks. My body started to sweat profusely, making me drink a gallon of water in less than a minute. Not only that, traffic was horrendous. Traffic lights were nonexistent, vendors were knocking on the windows trying to sell newspapers, and people in their jeepney were screaming, "Go! Go! Go!" All of this was not new to us, however. We lived here for two years, then moved to America when I was seven years old. Many view "vacation" as a time for relaxation and living the lavish life, but for me it was a realization of how I should be grateful for my life. Hours before the flight, I felt ecstatic. I was ready to spend my hard earned paychecks on new clothing and shoes. We arrived at five in the morning the following day and it took almost an hour to arrive at my relative's house. My sister and I were surprised by the housing conditions. It reminded me of favelas in Brazil. Houses were cramped, the power kept on turning off and on, trash was everywhere, and roofs were leaking. We were terrified, wondering if this place was safe, but my parents did not care. They were too busy laughing and telling stories with one another. The growth of real GDP is expected to range from 4.0% to 5.0% in medium term. The government is also trying to tackle the increasing differences in the income distribution to ease the political tensions. Government's increased spending on flood–prevention programme and development of basic infrastructure should drive the economy, at least by the year 2013. It is extraordinary just as its pioneer. The entrepreneur assessed in this paper is in no way or another connected to me. Personal Profile The name behind the Body Shop, a famous cosmetic line for decades now, is Anita Roddick. On October 23, 1942 in Littlehampton, Sussex, England marks her birth to an immigrant Italian family. Nevertheless, she dealt with it with optimism. In order to face success, it is of crucial importance to think of the ways by which the business model will thrive in the marketplace. Another is to assess the strengths and opportunities of the business. Lastly, it is always important to innovate, as this has always described entrepreneurs (Baghai, Coley, and White, 2000). Innovations are proven to increase the business' performance. During Christmas last year, upon launching a new product, i.e. a strong Christmas gift range, and improving customer services, operating profits from the division boosted to 17% to ₤11.7 million (Geary, 2005). This is a recent event in the innovation strategies of Body Shop. Schumpeter (1939), as cited in Mintrom, Schneider and Teske (1995), asserts that an entrepreneur functions to innovate, which means devising new production function out of the existing factors of production. In simpler terms, an entrepreneur is one who introduces a new product or a product that deviates from the ordinary. Such is the basic idea or definition of an entrepreneur from which its modern definitions have developed. Apart from the above, there is something about the packaging of the Body Shop products. Shopping Mall Research Paper ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Shopping mall A shopping mall, shopping centre, shopping arcade, shopping precinct or simply mall is one or more buildings forming a complex of shops representing merchandisers, with interconnecting walkways enabling visitors to easily walk from unit to unit, along with a parking area – a modern, indoor version of the traditional marketplace. Modern "car–friendly" strip malls developed from the 1920s, and shopping malls corresponded with the rise of suburban living in many parts of the Western World, especially the United States, afterWorld War II. The same is true forPortuguese–speaking Brazil, though with American spelling "shopping center". ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– History Numerous covered shopping arcades, such as the 19th–century Al–Hamidiyah Souq in Damascus,Syria, can be considered precursors to the present–day shopping mall.[4] Isfahan's Grand Bazaar, which is largely covered, dates from the 10th century. The 10 kilometer long covered Tehran's Grand Bazaar also has a long history. The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul was built in the 15th century and is still one of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 58 streets and 4,000 shops. Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg, which opened in 1785, may be regarded as one of the first purposely–built mall–type shopping complexes, as it consisted of more than 100 shops covering an area of over 53,000 m2 (570,000 sq ft). The Oxford Covered Market in Oxford, England opened in 1774 and still runs today. The Burlington Arcade in London was opened in 1819. The Arcade in Providence, Rhode Island introduced the retail arcade concept to the United States in 1828. This was a forerunner of today's shopping mall [5] The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy followed in the 1870s and is closer to large modern malls in spaciousness. Other ... To tell Henares the truth, it did not. Having been told that GDI has been making over a billion pesos a year in selling Dunkin' Donuts, it got curious how on earth a company could make billions selling donuts despite the competition posed to it by Mister Donut and the few "small others" such as Country Style, a Canadian brand which Due Diligencer first tasted while vacationing in Canada in 2001. But before the story behind the percentages GDI used in computing franchise fees and royalties, Due Diligencer would try to analyze the company's 2007 financial filing that shows its revenues climbed 12.92 percent to P1.17 billion from P1.04 billion in 2006. Their target market range age group is about 0–40 years old, but is most popular for those 15–30 years old. The brand reputation has achieved the assumption that their goal is to offer fashionable clothing at a reasonable price. Their clothing is always on trend, and sold at an affordable price from about $0.80 to $450. H&M buys stock in large columns to keep prices affordable for their average consumer. They partake in many collaborations with designers and celebrities, such as, David Beckham, Alexander Wang, and the most recent, Kenzo, as well as many more. They have worked to achieve a quick and well established system with stores all around the world, and a large consumer variety. H&M is regularly featured in respectable fashion magazines, such as Vogue and Elle. The following shows all of the countries a customer is able to shop from on the online website. Eventually, the disposable pad was born, the first ones appearing to have been first commercially available from around 1895 through Curads and Hartmann's. Disposable pads started with nurses using their wood pulp bandages to catch their menstrual flow, creating a pad that was made from easily obtainable materials and inexpensive enough to throw away after use. Kimberly–Clark's Kotex appears to be the first of the early disposable pads to take off in the market. Several of the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Currently, the Philippines has only two main concert venues that can occupy 10, 000 people– specifically, the Smart Araneta Coliseum and the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
