Social Norms Within Our Society
Social norms are behaviors that are expected within our society. When we see these norms out in public we might not acknowledge them because
we're expected to know how to act in different places or situations. When these norms are violated people may be confused of the situation and can
become confused, annoyed, or mad. Social norms are a part of our everyday lives since before we were born there were norms laid out for us already,
from the way we're supposed to behave, dress, and even talk. Norms have high value in our society "they are the standards by which people define
what is desirable or undesirable, good or bad beautiful or ugly". There're what we expect in our society from our behavior at school, in public, or
school. Each place has a certain norm we as a society should know when and how to follow. As a guest at someone's house, whether it's at a families,
friends, or strangers the norm has always been the same. We have to show respect to the owners and their property, be polite, and show good
manners while there. So for my own personal norm violation I decided to break the guest at someone's house norm. This was taken place at one of
my mother's close friends house who had invited us over for dinner an afternoon, I had been thinking for a while on what norm to break and how.
None of my family knew what I had plan to do that afternoon, so it was going to surprise them also. As a Mexican family my parents raised my
siblings and I to always show respect towards

Mini-Case 1 Essay example
Chapter 4:
Mini Case 1: Smith, Smith, Smith, and Smith is a regional accounting firm that is putting up a new headquarters building. The building will have a
backbone network that connects eight LANs (two on each floor). The company is very concerned with network errors. What advice would you give
regarding the design of the building and network cable planning that would help reduce network errors? I have to make some assumptions regarding
the network design for this new building. Since they are a regional accounting firm, constructing a brand new building, and mainly concerned with
network errors and data reliability, I have to assume that cost is a lower priority. Cost is always a concern, but having accurate information is the...

You can very quickly tell whether you have built a poor connector on either end, or if you do not have a solid connection to the switching hardware
device. On the cost side, I would contend that the support for future growth in bandwidth and error minimization should easily offset the cost difference.
On the distribution layer, I would suggest using V–LAN devices that are interconnected. By using V–LAN devices you can easily provision separate
LANs on each floor while still supporting any network changes in the future. V–LAN devices can provide both switching and routing capabilities
because they act as both layer–2 and layer–3 devices. This is a huge advantage in the fact that you can provision separate subnets for each LAN while
still allowing certain IPs the ability to communicate to either subnet. This is setup in the router side of the V–LAN software. The V–LAN also easily
supports the adding of more user machines (with enough fiber runs established) electronically. Opponents will say that V–LANs required the added
expenses of more knowledge and management than the more standard design of separate physical switches and routers. I agree, but we have to keep in
mind that this is a new construction process. We want to ensure that we have appropriate hardware to support future growth potential whether it is in

Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Communication Through A...
Introduction
On any network, it must be communicate through some form of media. In this world, only human can communicate through sound waves in the air
while computers or other electronic devices that can link to each other need to communicated through cables, radio waves, magnetic waves and light.
(Gupta, 2012) Transmission media allows computer to send and receive messages among each other but only within the same transmission media.
There are consist of two main type of transmission media, they are guided media/bounded transmission media and unguided media/unbounded
transmission media. Guided Media/Bounded Transmission Media

Coaxial cable is easy to install, unlike twisted pair cable and fiber optic cable that need specific tools to install and fiber optic even need professional
to install. This cable is also easy to expand. Lastly, coaxial cable has moderate level of EMI immunity, it won't get much interference like twisted pair
cable do. (network, n.d.)
Disadvantages of Coaxial
Coaxial cable has high attenuation rate over long distance. Besides that coaxial cable is bulky as it made up of several material and thick copper.
(Gupta, 2012)
Application of Coaxial
Coaxial cable is used on cable tv to transmit channel from the satellite and allow us to watch tv channel. Besides that coaxial cable can be used for
telecommunication, it can support up to 10, 800 voice conversation. Lastly, coaxial cable is used on traditional Ethernet Local Area Networks (LAN), it
can support transmission rate up to 10Mbps. (Gupta, 2012) Unguided Media/Unbounded Transmission Media
Unguided media is also called unbounded transmission media, unguided media transmit data in the form of waves, and it do not follow specific like
guided media do. There are three kind of unguided media, they are microwave, satellite and

Privacy Rights : Moral And Legal Foundations
What role, if any, do social norms and/or morals play in shaping privacy rights and/or expectations?
It is understood that there are a number of definitions of privacy. Intellectuals have published works with varying content throughout the years. In 1890,
Warren and Brandeis' article gathered that privacy is the "right to be let alone" (Samuel Warren). Additionally, William Parent suggested that "privacy is
the condition of not having undocumented personal knowledge about one possessed by others" (Moore, Privacy Rights: Moral and Legal
Foundations). On the other hand, Julie Inness illustrated that privacy is "the state of possessing control over a realm of intimate decisions, which
include decisions about intimate access, intimate information and intimate actions" (Moore, Privacy Rights: Moral and Legal Foundations). Although
the definitions vary, the observations and publications regarding privacy indicate that individuals have the right to privacy, along with its protection.
More importantly, how do we decide what these privacy rights entail and what principles should be incorporated under its protection? The
understanding of one's privacy and what should be protected is rooted in a society's moral and social norms. What a culture does out of habit or
custom and what their environment was like at the time, eventually shape how they view privacy as well as the laws they create. First, norms and
habits undergo certain changes through the political, social,

The Humantery And The Characters Of The Flaws Of Humankind
Flaws of Humankind Today, many people are fortunate enough to influence the government, but what if that privilege was revoked? In "The Lottery",
the characters are deprived of the ability to voice their ideas; because of this, the villagers become stuck carrying out an outdated tradition. By looking
at the mindset of the characters in "The Lottery" one can see that change and freedom of speech are not accepted which is significant because Shirley
Jackson alludes to the result of forcing social conformity, which is the inability to correct immoral social norms. Though tradition is known to stay the
same, the natural diversity occurring in civilization makes change inevitable. Despite this observation Jackson portrays how humans tend to stick to
routine. In the town square after Tessie wins the lottery, the narrator comments, "Although the villagers had forgotten the ritual and lost the original
box, they still remembered to use stones" (Jackson 6). Characters refuse to stop a tradition even though it no longer yields significance to them. This
is because some remain set in their own ways and are trained to perceive change with a negative tone even if it is truly for the better. After Mr.
Summers calls his name, Warner says to the crowd gathered in the town square, "Seventy–seventh year I been in the lottery... seventy–seventh time"
(Jackson 4). Through this statement, he implies that society and its habits should not be changed. This man, who ironically has never been the

Analysis Of Alan Turing's Views On Morality
I way society reacted to Alan Turning being gay, made me think about morally. Is there a set morally or does society have a different sense of
morally in different places and time? Does morally change over time or just are idea of morally? But also I think if Alan Turing didn't have such a
passionate relationship with Christopher that to some would not have been morally right would we have crack enigma. There the idea of morally,
what people were supposed to be Alan a heterosexual or Pat who was to intelligent for her society as she said "it was considered a waste of time to
give a girl a good education and if you showed a degree of intellectual ability, people seemed to regard you with a degree of suspicion" (pg. 47–48),

Think of the people that kill and justify it with faith or love. Belief and emotions can change someone ideas of morally and the big question is
where is the line. When do we need to look at a problem like a computer not a person. We sometimes need to turn off are fear and emotion and
decide what is the best way to save the most people. The problem is the train problem, if a train was going down a track and you had to either flip
the switch and kill one man or kill twenty most people would flip the switch. But if you had the same case but instead of flipping the switch you
had to push the man on the tracks most could not do it. This is because we are emotional people, but we do have the practical and analytical
intelligence and can analyze I problem and see the math you lose one or twenty. But maybe it would be I good things to turn off care for a second
and push the man in front of the train because wouldn't can save twenty men. This is why we are not computers, we have morally and emotions that
can we very helpful but sometimes hurtful. The train case one's care and lack of strength lead to twenty deaths instead of one, so the question is can
morally and emotional be a demerit. Would certain times be better if we could think like computers, this an age old question and I believe no but,
maybe the other side has a point, the computer would have saved twenty men and killed

Bias In The Media's Twist Story
Half of the things from modern media that people have heard has probably been twisted in some way. I believe that the media does twist stories, to
make things sound different. There are plenty of examples where the media will make a situation sound different, show bias towards one person, or lie
and gives false facts. The media does this a lot more than often than you think, and it can affect a humongous area.
Surprisingly often, the media will change a story to make someone or something sound worse. For my first example, a newspaper makes Philip's fight
against his suspension sound worse (AVI 127.) The media is making Philip's situation sound like a colossal problem, when it's actually just a minor
thing. The media is making Miss Narwin sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A newspaper company lies about Philip's story, and gives out false facts (AVI 118.) This company is lying, and completely changing the story,
making it more interesting, but also false. The media gives out false facts, and someone uses them in a school board meeting (AVI 125.) This
shows how the media giving out false facts, does end up tricking people who eventually might end up spreading the false facts. News lies about the
location of a kind story (Sigmund Fraud 12.) Here, there is a story that is broadcasted across the entire world but is considered "local. " This is
showing that the media is twisting a story to make it seem like it is something within their community, even if it was across the world. Media lies to
help Stalin hide something dangerous (John Hayward 2–3.) In this example, the media was twisting a story some decades ago, to make a situation
seem like everything was okay. Helping Stalin changed the entire course of history. News outletslie about a young boy named Jimmy (John Hayward
7–9.) In Washington D.C. the news created a fake story about a little boy named Jimmy, who was an 8 year old heroin addict. The media lies, and
creates a fake story about this boy just to have something interesting to offer. Media lies, saying fake news is the reason Hillary lost (Chris Pandolfo
37–38.) The media lies, saying that they believe that Hillary Clinton lost just because of fake news. They are twisting the whole story about Clinton's
campaign, which had a lot of big things about her that were

The Consequences Of Social Norms In The American Society
In a public setting and in society in general, there are certain rules that are followed unconsciously by people. People are unaware most times that
they control and manipulate their behavior to fit into a certain societal setting. While it is perfectly normal to sing along and dance to music in the
privacy of the home, it is frowned upon to do such behavior in public. These rules that people tend to follow unconsciously and consciously are
referred to as social norms. Social norms vary from culture to culture. In some cultures, like Japan, slurping food is a sign of enjoyment and is
welcomed in a public and private setting. However, in America and other societies, slurping food or eating with your mouth open is completely
unacceptable. Norms can be broken down into four categories: folkways, mores, taboos, and laws. The social norm that my partner and I chose to
breach was a folkway norm. Folkway norms are behaviors that society deems as acceptable and unacceptable behavior such as manners and
etiquette. Breaking a folkway brings no serious consequences like breaking a law. In our experiment, we decided to violate dining etiquette. Ashely
and I realized that it is perfectly acceptable to consume food on the ground if it is at a park or the privacy of the home and even when most people
are participating in the same behavior. It is, however, strange and unusual to see people dining as if in a picnic in a public setting where furniture, such
as tables and chairs are offered.

Summary Of ' A Dead Body Seems '
Chapter Twenty–One
The Answer Was Right under Our Noses
The answer came two days later, clearly stamped on Seth's pale face. "Twist found something."
"A dead body perhaps?" After solving the Sade Stone caper, a murder would put the Deadwood Detective Agency's name on everyone's lips.
"I'm not sure," he said.
"Oh."
"He wants us to meet him at Wallington Hall." He scraped back his lawn chair and jogged down the front porch steps. A minute later, he was headed
across the yard on his faded blue bicycle. I caught up with him just outside the gate. We coasted beneath clumsy clouds like white giants with colorless
hearts and a lurid sun that caressed our cheeks.

"I need to measure the ghostnitric energy in the room." Seth pulled a small device about the size of a calculator from his hip pocket and pressed an
oversized black button. The thingamabob made a soft snick sound then flashed green.
"So the green light means that the ghost was a fake?" I guessed.
"No, no." He lifted his eyes from the contraption and gave me a worried look. "It was very real."
"Real?" Twist's eyebrows quivered.
"Come on." I grabbed his wrist and dragged him up the stairs. "You wanted to show us something, remember?"
"Oh, right," he groaned.
We tiptoed down the dark hall and intothe secret room. The casket was gone. Twist pointed to a trap door in the floor that we hadn't seen before.
Seth's eyes got wide. "Where did that come from?"
"It was here the entire time. We just didn't see it before because it was covered with a rug and dust." Twist yanked the cord. Thetrapdoor swung up, and
a wooden ladder clattered into place behind one of the walls. "Come on."
The steps trembled as we climbed down.
Seth reached the bottom and moved his flashlight around, a dim and shaky beam of yellow light against the darkened shaft. The tunnel was filled with
a bunch of creepy junk: a Samurai sword covered in dust, glass jars containing tiny skulls in green goo, rigging pulleys attached to knotted ropes like

Overview: Twisted by Laurie Halse Andersone
Is choosing the wrong path to find the real you a bad thing? In a story generally the
protagonist pulls on different types of archetypes to learn from their mistakes and be different
with those strengths. In the novel, Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson, the protagonist, Tyler
needs to go through phases in order to ultimately achieve the goal of self–identity that not
necessarily he wants but the society accepts. So the journey begins, with Tyler in the front seat,
searching for a person he could be, he uses his friends, friends of friends, his physical
surroundings, to be one person in all of his obstacles.
Tyler establishes in the beginning of the novel, his ordinary world. The first incident that

rules. Miller men toughed it out;...See thats why I was a bad son. Lack of respect" (21,
Anderson). Tyler blames himself in being the bad one, who has made bad decision and this short
of makes him not want to go ahead in the journey to reinvent himself and find who he really is
meant to be but in the novel, it shows maybe he is just scared to be like his father. Everyone says,
like father like son, and that scares Tyler a bit. He sees domestic violence at home. He explains,
"He (Dad) and mom had a screaming match in the kitchen before he left (91, Anderson). He
believes he would be greatly appalled if and when he finds who he is meant to be in life, he will
not be able to be that way because his father will disown him more than he already has. He
claims he has not been a father figure ever and that makes Tyler want to be a man, but how to be
one is his quest.
The Quest. As Pearson, calls it, "it is not a call about becoming bigger or better or more
important than anyone else. We all matter, Every one of us has an essential contribution to make,
and we can do so only by taking the risk of being uniquely our own selves." This quote fits
perfectly in how Tyler implies it in the novel. Tyler is confronted by his bully at a family party.
He ultimately wants to be the physically bigger person and beat up this enemy. Tyler does

Twisted Pair Video Analysis
Video starts by describing the main difference between Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
and Shielded Twisted Pair (STP). First the creators discuss about the Electromagnetic
Interference (EMI) canceling capabilities of UTP and STP. However, the way each one is
designed to cancel the interference is different. EMI can arise from many ways and from a
number of sources, being either man made or natural. Interference is caused by an
electromagnetic disturbance affecting the performance of a device, transmission, or system.
The video further describes what UTP and STP is. UTP is very commoncable used for

Paradise Lost And Antigone Comparison
"To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society." (Roosevelt). Since the beginning of time societies have existed,
thriving among mankind. Societies dictate norms and regulations for the people living within them by establishing a status quo. Since the status quo
exists, a large majority of people alter their actions and words they do and say to fit the societal norm, the status quo in order to seem "normal". As
common as a status quo is to societies, so is the reality of a rebel: someone who goes against the status quo, such as Antigone. Societies also have
people who overly conform, in turn suffering negative consequences, such as Eve. If a comparison of both works (Antigone and Paradise Lost) are
taken, it will remain obvious that Antigone materializes as a stronger, more self–independent character who is against the societal norms, whereas Eve
lacks enough inner strength and willpower to avoid conforming to the origin of the negativity of social norms. In general, society is not an evil
device to have a part in, rather, it is completely normal. If an individual lives in a community, neighborhood, city, town, village, etc., they belong in a
society. Societies provide "chaos management"; they keep people supposedly in line and provide rules. Rules are not wicked, but sometimes certain
rules may go against the morals of a person, making the rules a negative aspect of society. This transforms the relationship of an individual existing in

A DIFFERENT EXAMPLE FOR REFERENCE:
The use of an elevator is a common thing. Most Americans use the elevator without incident, and we all know how to behave in one. For example, it
is a "norm" that when you get into an elevator, if someone is standing in one corner, you go to the other corner. You do NOT stand right next to them
and crowd them when the rest of the elevator is empty. Another norm would be that you face the doors– you do NOT keep your back to the door and
stare at the other people in the elevator. So, think about why these norms are in place and what purpose they serve (some hints would be to think about
personal space, our tolerance for strangers, etc).

Different Types Of Media That Can Be Used For Connect...
What are the different types of media that can be used to connect different computers together into a computer network?
There are four basic types of connection media that are used for connecting separate computers together on the same computer network. Both
categories are copper cabling, fiber optic cabling, wireless signal, and infrared signals. The first two types of connection media on our lives are known
as bounded network media because they both use wire of some sort in order to connect or bound one computer to another on a network. Copper
cables are the most commonly used of the four types of network connection media. Copper cabling sends data in binary format from one computer
system on a network to another through the use of electrical signals. Fiber optic cabling follows copper cabling when it comes to frequency of use.
Fiber optic cable has a completely different configuration for transferring binary data across the network from one computer system to another
computer system. Unlike copper cable fiber optic cable does not use electrical signals when encoding binary data instead it transmits the data as
pulses of light. Fiber optic cables transmit the binary data as light pulses in a similar fashion to the way copper cables use electrical pulses to transmit
binary data. The next two types of connection media are known as unbounded network media due to the fact that they do not use any type of physical
wiring to connect the different computer systems on a

Lady Macbeth Character Analysis
Two scenes later, Shakespeare delves deeper into Lady Macbeth's character which adds another perspective to the predicament Macbeth finds himself
faced with. Lady Macbeth makes apparent, to the audience, regarding her husband, that she has 'fear' concerning 'thy nature', and that Macbeth is 'too
full o' th' milk of human kindness'. This suggests that Lady Macbeth fears that her husband is incapable of producing what she deems necessary for
him to gain the kingship. He possesses the desire, but the ruthlessness required in order to secure kingship and usurp the throne, is something that
Lady Macbeth opts to take upon herself after minimal deliberation, which reveals much about her and her husband, in terms of Lady Macbeth's
dominance that would shock a contemporary audience. The word 'milk' is perhaps alluding to her belief that Macbeth doesn't possess the strength of
character that at the time was seemingly synonymous with masculinity. The audience may well feel as though Lady Macbeth believes that Macbeth
yearns for the kingship, yet he will not be proactive in going about obtaining it by illegitimate means as she labels him as too kind to take a leading
role in an approach of that ilk. Shakespeare arguably here raises a wider debate by using the play as a mouthpiece to voice his concerns regarding the
twisted society of the time in that kindness could be seen as something that would be detrimental to an individual. Shakespeare also perhaps intends to
voice concerns over

unwritten rules that regulate and govern people's behaviors and are created by society or a population. Examples within the United States would
include: Not screaming profanities while in a quiet public setting or belching while at a nice dinner. Social norms can shift or change drastically from

smoking caused numerous diseases, it became less socially acceptable over time. In contrast to social norms, laws are written rules, created by the

Transmission Media Glossary
Thinnet Cable (10Base2):
Thinnet coaxial cable is connected using special connectors and requires to be terminated at each end using a 50ohm resistor. 10Base2 stands for:
пЃ¶Data transmission rate of 10Mbps, example: 10
пЃ¶Uses baseband transmission, example: Base
пЃ¶Used in Ethernet networks it has a maximum cable length of 185 metres, example: the 2 for approximately 200 metres
Thinnet cables use a connector known as a BNC connector to make the connections between the computers and the cables.
Thicknet Cable (10Base5):
Thicknet is very similar to thinnet, except for the additional layer of aluminium insulation and copper braid. This makes the cable more reliable and
rigid and means it is easier to be used for longer runs. The bigger the copper core the, the further the distance the cable can carry signals. Thicknet can
be used sometimes as a backbone to connect several smaller thinnet based networks. 10Base5 stands for:
пЃ¶Uses baseband transmitting, example: Base
пЃ¶Data transmission rate of 10Mbps, example: 10
пЃ¶Used in Ethernet networks, it has a maximum cable length of 500 metres, example: the 5 is for 500 metres

Mulan And The Hayes Code
Humberto Gonzalez Professor Gittings Wheeler ARH2740 – 884671 Mulan and the Hayes Code In 1998, Disney produced a groundbreaking movie
that promoted girls to be themselves and be who they are. The message this movie conveys is to always be yourself no matter what the social
norm promotes you to be. Despite this being a very heartwarming movie with a positive message, back in the 1930 's it would have been considered
heresy. The Hayes Code was enacted during this time and enforced general rules onto films in order for them to stay morally acceptable for the
public. This Disney film breaks a few of those rules, most notably the first and third general principles, which involve causing the audience to gain
sympathy toward the side of the crime/wrongdoing, causing the law to be ridiculed and indecent exposure during a bathing scene; which as a
result caused me to not agree with the "Reasons Supporting the Preamble of the Code" section of the Hayes Code. The first two offenses this film
involves swaying the audience 's opinion in favor of Mulan, who has to put up with demeaning actions toward her and ultimately breaks the law. In
the beginning of the film, she is getting prepared to attend a ceremony that will determine if she is an appropriate bride for marriage, and also to
determine if she will bring honor to her family. During this scene, a "lucky" cricket throws a wrench into the whole ceremony and ruins her chances of
becoming a worthy bride, and she is told she

Oroonoko Analysis
Aphra Behn's Oroonoko is arguably one of the most tragic novels in British Literature. The love story of two enslaved Surinam nobilities, who both
meet their atrocious end, depicts shameful european history in regards of slavery. The words painted white men as vile creatures who were known to
be dishonest and ruthless. Though one may say Behn's work brought light to a subject so taboo, others argue that the novel plays into a racial narrative
that minorities have struggled for centuries to break free from. While Behn's explicit use of language expressed her disapproval of colonists, I believe
her work embodied the notion of whitewashing the text gain approval of a particular group. Considering the fact, that Behn was the first women to
live by her pen, and broke cultural norms, it is unclear if her intention was enclosing a shock factor, or exercising her ability to challenge societal
norms for the greater good. Oroonoko describes how individuals are unable to be free people who grow intellectually and ethically, instead slavery
holds these prisoners captive leaving them a shell of a person. Living in a european world where ignorance is used a bondage to restraint individuals
from comprehending the severity of slavery, and the impact these texts have made has shaped ideological forces that shouldn't be disregarded. When
deconstructing the text, I believe Alpha Behn's story of Oroonoko falls under racisms constrained view and exhibits an unschooled thought in

Understanding The Physical And Mental Language
This observation report shows the study of the reaction of people interacting with each other, understanding the physical and mental language that each
individual possesses. The observation was conducted at the Fort Campbell, Kentucky Commissary, using Sociology to point out the positive and
negative norms. Identify every aspect of the norm that associates within each person finding the reaction which many either do or do not expect.
Chambliss stated that, norms are accepted social behaviors and beliefs, or the common rules of a culture that governs the behavior of people belonging
to that culture (2015). Norms that are utilized daily are; mores and laws norm are used in daily life within today's population including myself. Mores

Self Reflection
Being placed in a judgmental society such as the one we have today has diminished the self–confidence we as individuals have begun to shape for
ourselves. "...our preferences for particular body types are not biologically ingrained but... shaped by the cultural norms of beauty communicated
through magazine ads, commercials, and movies" (EOS pg. 50). As weak individuals living in a controlling society we tend to examine our own
personal qualities and the depiction that others have for us, and morph ourselves into beings crave social acceptance, even if we lose sight of our
own identities . The question I ponder is how can individuals truly see and value their selves in a society full of judgement? There comes a point in
our lives where we truly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Outer presences tend to deviate a person from the one they truly are on the inside. That is one concept our society has developed, an evaluation of an
individual that influences a judgmental state of mind.
Lastly to fulfill the completeness of my avatar was a selected wardrobe that embodied my style. The wardrobe I selected was a simple blue jean
jacket with a pair of ripped blue jeans accompanied by white gym shoes. My style of accouterment represents my style as fashionable and poised.
When selecting apparel, we have a variety of different choices. Other's might define themselves as edgy while others might choose a completely
opposite style more refined and conservative. To think more in depth, our society has divided our collection of attire also based on gender, "Styles
of dress...normally help signify differences between the sexes" (EOS pg. 56). Before starting the process of developing our avatars we are asked a
simple question of what gender we define as. Our society has placed this norm as identifying ourselves as either female or male. What if our avatars
wanted to identify themselves as something other than those two selections such as being transgender for example, those select individuals would still
be stuck to choose between those two characteristics because that is what our society has deemed as normal and morally right. Furthermore, the

Analysis Of Don Juan
According to study.com instructor Ellie Green originally Lord Byron began writing Don Juan at in the fall of 1818, at age 30 when he lived in
Venice. Lord Byron's story Don Juan has actually been a retelling of his life living in exile as a result of scandalous affairs with women and men.
He spent the majority of life on writing Don Juan up until his death, leaving the story unfinished (Green). Nonetheless The story Don Juan written
in the 1600's by Moliere remains a comical controversial drama typical of Moliere's plays. The author of Don Juan is as interesting as the story
itself. Although Don Juan lived criticized for "free thought and atheism . . . And an unbeliever overturning the foundation of religion" the play has
performed for over 200 years now recognized as one of Moliere's masterpieces. (91 Moliere). Don Juan's is a historical womanizer who rebels against
God and morality. So, it appears a womanizer exists every generation. Ordinarily, the character Don Juan mocks relationships also the sanctity of
marriage. Additionally, Don Juan enjoys breaking up relationships for conquest and sport. Thus, Don Juan remains unconcerned his valet Sganarelle
served him as a silent accomplice against his will. However, Sganarelle does express Don Juan's behavior with Gusman squire to Elvira. Furthermore,

detailed specifications for this cable.
In my opinion Cat 6 cable should be used instead the Category 5 CM–rated UTP cable as the horizontal cables that are connected to the patch panel

This layer is also called the Workgroup layer.
6. Does this network need a core layer? What devices would operate at the core layer?
The core layer is considered the backbone of the network and includes the high–end switches and high–speed cables such as fiber cables. This layer of
the network does not route traffic at the LAN. In addition, no packet manipulation is done by devices in this layer. Rather, this layer is concerned with
speed and ensures reliable delivery of packets.
7. Is redundancy required at any layer of this network? If it is, where and how would this redundancy be added to the network? What device or devices
would be used to make this network redundant?
A goal of redundant topologies is to eliminate network down time caused by a single point of failure. All networks need redundancy for enhanced
reliability. Network reliability is achieved through reliable equipment and network designs that are tolerant to failures and faults. Networks should be
designed to reconverge rapidly so that the fault is bypassed.
In a redundant mesh topology network devices are connected with many redundant interconnections between network nodes. In a true mesh topology
every node has a connection to every other node in the network. A mesh network with redundant connections is an example of a redundant topology.
The level of redundancy can be measured by network connectivity.

Norm Violations Paper
As we know, norms are social expectations that guide our behavior. In this paper, I will discuss norm violations that I've observed, and my own
personal norm violation that I committed. I will describe what happened, what was done, and the reactions of the people around when these norms

There were two norms in which I observed. The first violation I spotted was a bit... out of the ordinary. One day, I decided to take a trip to the

Norms Are The Expectations, Or Rules Of Behavior
Norms are the expectations, or rules of behavior that develop to reflect and enforce values. A norm violation is when a person goes against a
certain way that culture and society expects one to act. When going against the norm it means that you are doing something that is not acceptable to
one's society or their culture. Normative behavior is expected to be in every culture. For example, in our society men and women have the freedom
to wear whatever they please, we are allowed to show our legs, arms, feet etc. because its an expression of who we are and what we like. In the
Muslim culture when a women reaches puberty no part of her body should remain uncovered except the face and the hand up to the wrist joint. If the
Muslim woman wore shorts and a t–shirt it would be considered a violation of a norm. But because this violation differs from our American Society it
wouldn't be considered weird or strange to wear shorts and a tee.
The norm violation i preformed was the invasion of privacy. People are used to being in a bubble, having a couple feet of space among themselves
and strangers. So what i did was go to my local Target and basically creep four people out. I started off by walking up to these people individually.

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Imitation Game ' By Alan Turing
What is socially appropriate? How or more so who decides what is appropriate? These questions have been asked, debated, and fought over since the
dawn of civilization. The rhetor of the movie The Imitation Game integrates these questions into the true story of Alan Turing and the people around
him. The rhetor allows these questions of appropriateness to be narrowed down to two very influential people in history to give these large,
foundational questions a more personal touch, and for the audience to see the very personal consequence of society's decision. Throughout the film the
question of the appropriateness of differing sexual orientations, gender roles, and social norms are questioned by allowing the audience to see how
these aspects have been judged in the past and the consequences of society's decisions on a personal level. The first societal decision the rhetor
questions is that of the appropriateness of gender roles. The main female character named Joan Clarke is the focus of the question of standard gender
roles. In the film, Alan Turing fires two people he deemed useless, which caused vacancies with in the unit. To fulfill these open spots, he places a
crossword puzzle in the newspaper. For those who solve it within ten minutes could report to the local government office. Upon arriving at the office,
Joan Clarke is immediately questioned why she is there. The guard at the door insists she is in the wrong spot and needs to go upstairs to register to be a

Personal Statement : Hsun Tzu
HsГњn Tzu's essay explains to readers that "learning is fundamentally moral because it trains us to know the truth and to restrict the kind of behavior
that is typical of ignorant people" (552). Tzu believes to be properly educated an individual must devote they're life to proper learning. The type of
learning Tzu valued in today's terms, would be those who are college educated. Tzu believed for an individual to be moral, they must be properly
educated, but this is not true. Morals are not born in classrooms, morals are learned from all around us, starting at a young age. Most morals people
learn such as right and wrong come from their parents and those around us when we are young. The moral development of a person, comes from the
world around them. Culture, family, and other role models make up the majority of a person's moral compass. With education playing a small rule in
building someone's moral code.
Starting at a young age we begin to learn and form our own morals, by observing others around us. For most people, we begin learning our morals
and beliefs from our parents. Most children begin forming their moral beliefs, when they observe and see the actions their parents display during
specific situations. They, by observing, create their own moral beliefs based on their observations. Not every moral choice a parent shows will be
taught to the child. The child may see their parent's moral choice to abuse alcohol, and create a negative view of it because of their

My Mistress Eyes By Blazon Sonnet
During Shakespeare's time, the societal norms that cultivated women were very precise. Women were held to high standards to look certain and act in
a specific way, but did society ever take it too far? Many poets during Shakespeare's time wrote blazon sonnets, ones that compared women to the most
wondrous things life has to offer; gems, jewels, plants, and stars. Such beautiful comparisons, but so unrealistic and degrading. Women had become a
collection of objects rather than human, but Shakespeare shed some light on the matter at hand and presented a new way of thinking. In Shakespeare's
My Mistress' Eyes, he purposefully contradicts the typical blazon tradition, uses enjambment, and uses rhyme schemes to create a sonnet which serves
as a statement that disowns the societal views on women.
The sonnet itself sounds like an argument more than anything. If you pay attention to the tone of the poem, it appears as though Shakespeare is tearing
this woman apart in the cruelest ways. He appears to not find her beautiful, and he cannot seem to understand what is beautiful about her, but he knows

The poem can be considered a blazon traditional sonnet although it presents the tradition in an unconventional way. The typical way a blazon sonnet
presents itself is through the broken–down description of a woman's qualities. Women are usually highly praised and they are made to appear so out of
reach; they become unobtainable even by the poet themselves. Women are portrayed as a collection of objects rather than human which accentuates the
idea that they are so unattainable because no woman like them actually exist. The idea that beauty is what defines, and what controls a man's love for a
woman, is not depicted in Shakespeare's sonnet, My Mistress' Eyes. In fact, Shakespeare takes a completely new twist on the tradition, one that many
individuals find insulting, while the rest find

Notes On Communications And Networking
Department of Computer Science
Assignment 2
CS 2204: COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKING
1.What is crosstalk? How is it minimized in case to twisted pair of wire?
Crosstalk can be defined as the interference to a signal path from other localized signal paths. When several lines are close together, the current
passing along one line may cause current to flow in one or more adjacent lines. This may be the result of capacitance between the two lines or the
effect of inductance. This effect is known as crosstalk, and often occurs in multi–cored cables and in the ribbon cables used for connecting computers to
peripherals.
The term crosstalk is often limited in its use to circuits/conductors in close proximity, where the coupling path may be characterized by the mutual
capacitance and mutual inductance of the circuits. It may be eliminated in multi–cored cables by having each of the cores enclosed in a separate
earthed shield, though this makes the cable considerably more expensive.
Twisted–pair cable consists of one or more pair of twisted wire and comes in two forms: STP (shielded twisted pair) or UTP (unshielded twisted pair).
STP consists of several pairs of twisted wires that are surrounded by a foil shielding and an outer jacket or sheath. When a signal travels down the
wire it produces a magnetic field and can produce unwanted interference with other pairs of wire within the same cable (cross talk). The twist in each
pair of wire helps to reduce crosstalk and

Conducting A Norm Experiment
In today's society, norms are expected by everyone. According to the book Essentials of Sociology a Down– To– Earth Approach, Hansen states that
norms are expectations of "right" behavior (Hansen, 2014). There are also two forms of norms that may be strictly enforced or not. There is folkways
and mores. Folkways are norms that aren't strictly enforced while mores are strictly enforced for essential thought to care values or the well–being of a
group (Hansen, 2014). Along with a norm and the two types, there may also be reactions to it. These reactions may be positive or negative and termed
as sanctions. Sanctions are either expressions of an approval given to people for upholding norms or expression of disapproval for violating them
(Hansen, 2014). In conducting a norm experiment, the terms were put to a test. The experiment consisted of an observed norm violation and an
individual norm violation. The experiments resulted in what I had hypothesized. My hypothesis consisted of sanctions of the norms that were conducted.
In the observe norm violation experiment, it was concluded to result in negative sanction. The experiment consisted of a friend of mine and I ordering
our lunch at In n Out. It was my friend, Denise's turn to order her meal. Denise ordered a double– double with no cheese, no thousand island spread, a
single patty and only onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. The employee looked at her in a dumbfound manner and confirmed her ordered as a hamburger.

Chillingworth: A Hidden Monstrosity Summoned by Hate
A dark figure of a man watches from the background as a serene Puritan village cast their eyes upon the adulterer and her child being publicly
punished. His dark, cold and divisive eyes flicker to the adulterer, the woman whom he calls his wife and devices an utter plan of cold, ghastly revenge
with the motive of pure destruction. Chillingworth; a character devised from the intelligent mind of Nathaniel Hawthorne is a symbol of the evolution
of one whose mind is obsessed with the revenge of others. In the Scarlet Letter, Chillingworth is quite the odd one. Escaping from an Indian village
where he was once held captive, Chillingworth returns to the village, only to be greeted by the sight of his wife being publicly shamed for the sin of
adultery. Chillingworth, gravely distorted by the news, seeks revenge against his wife and her secret lover. As shown in Chillingworth, the contrived
desire for revenge against others reveals a hidden monstrosity. Chillingworth's bitterness, jealousy and guiltiness eventually become a contrived desire
for revenge. In particular, his bitterness against his unfaithful wife, his jealousy of her love for someone else and the guiltiness of not being a proficient
husband leads to the demise of his character. The revulsion stored deep in the corridors of his heart twist and maul his character that he goes from being

Social Norms Within Our Society

  • 1. Social Norms Within Our Society Social norms are behaviors that are expected within our society. When we see these norms out in public we might not acknowledge them because we're expected to know how to act in different places or situations. When these norms are violated people may be confused of the situation and can become confused, annoyed, or mad. Social norms are a part of our everyday lives since before we were born there were norms laid out for us already, from the way we're supposed to behave, dress, and even talk. Norms have high value in our society "they are the standards by which people define what is desirable or undesirable, good or bad beautiful or ugly". There're what we expect in our society from our behavior at school, in public, or school. Each place has a certain norm we as a society should know when and how to follow. As a guest at someone's house, whether it's at a families, friends, or strangers the norm has always been the same. We have to show respect to the owners and their property, be polite, and show good manners while there. So for my own personal norm violation I decided to break the guest at someone's house norm. This was taken place at one of my mother's close friends house who had invited us over for dinner an afternoon, I had been thinking for a while on what norm to break and how. None of my family knew what I had plan to do that afternoon, so it was going to surprise them also. As a Mexican family my parents raised my siblings and I to always show respect towards ... • 2. Mini-Case 1 Essay example Chapter 4: Mini Case 1: Smith, Smith, Smith, and Smith is a regional accounting firm that is putting up a new headquarters building. The building will have a backbone network that connects eight LANs (two on each floor). The company is very concerned with network errors. What advice would you give regarding the design of the building and network cable planning that would help reduce network errors? I have to make some assumptions regarding the network design for this new building. Since they are a regional accounting firm, constructing a brand new building, and mainly concerned with network errors and data reliability, I have to assume that cost is a lower priority. Cost is always a concern, but having accurate information is the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You can very quickly tell whether you have built a poor connector on either end, or if you do not have a solid connection to the switching hardware device. On the cost side, I would contend that the support for future growth in bandwidth and error minimization should easily offset the cost difference. On the distribution layer, I would suggest using V–LAN devices that are interconnected. By using V–LAN devices you can easily provision separate LANs on each floor while still supporting any network changes in the future. V–LAN devices can provide both switching and routing capabilities because they act as both layer–2 and layer–3 devices. This is a huge advantage in the fact that you can provision separate subnets for each LAN while still allowing certain IPs the ability to communicate to either subnet. This is setup in the router side of the V–LAN software. The V–LAN also easily supports the adding of more user machines (with enough fiber runs established) electronically. Opponents will say that V–LANs required the added expenses of more knowledge and management than the more standard design of separate physical switches and routers. I agree, but we have to keep in mind that this is a new construction process. We want to ensure that we have appropriate hardware to support future growth potential whether it is in ... In this world, only human can communicate through sound waves in the air while computers or other electronic devices that can link to each other need to communicated through cables, radio waves, magnetic waves and light. (Gupta, 2012) Transmission media allows computer to send and receive messages among each other but only within the same transmission media. There are consist of two main type of transmission media, they are guided media/bounded transmission media and unguided media/unbounded transmission media. Coaxial cable is easy to install, unlike twisted pair cable and fiber optic cable that need specific tools to install and fiber optic even need professional to install. This cable is also easy to expand. Lastly, coaxial cable has moderate level of EMI immunity, it won't get much interference like twisted pair cable do. (network, n.d.) Disadvantages of Coaxial Coaxial cable has high attenuation rate over long distance. Besides that coaxial cable is bulky as it made up of several material and thick copper. (Gupta, 2012) Application of Coaxial Coaxial cable is used on cable tv to transmit channel from the satellite and allow us to watch tv channel. Besides that coaxial cable can be used for telecommunication, it can support up to 10, 800 voice conversation. Lastly, coaxial cable is used on traditional Ethernet Local Area Networks (LAN), it can support transmission rate up to 10Mbps. (Gupta, 2012) Unguided Media/Unbounded Transmission Media Unguided media is also called unbounded transmission media, unguided media transmit data in the form of waves, and it do not follow specific like guided media do. • 5. Privacy Rights : Moral And Legal Foundations What role, if any, do social norms and/or morals play in shaping privacy rights and/or expectations? It is understood that there are a number of definitions of privacy. Intellectuals have published works with varying content throughout the years. In 1890, Warren and Brandeis' article gathered that privacy is the "right to be let alone" (Samuel Warren). Additionally, William Parent suggested that "privacy is the condition of not having undocumented personal knowledge about one possessed by others" (Moore, Privacy Rights: Moral and Legal Foundations). On the other hand, Julie Inness illustrated that privacy is "the state of possessing control over a realm of intimate decisions, which include decisions about intimate access, intimate information and intimate actions" (Moore, Privacy Rights: Moral and Legal Foundations). Although the definitions vary, the observations and publications regarding privacy indicate that individuals have the right to privacy, along with its protection. More importantly, how do we decide what these privacy rights entail and what principles should be incorporated under its protection? The understanding of one's privacy and what should be protected is rooted in a society's moral and social norms. What a culture does out of habit or custom and what their environment was like at the time, eventually shape how they view privacy as well as the laws they create. First, norms and habits undergo certain changes through the political, social, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Humantery And The Characters Of The Flaws Of Humankind Flaws of Humankind Today, many people are fortunate enough to influence the government, but what if that privilege was revoked? In "The Lottery", the characters are deprived of the ability to voice their ideas; because of this, the villagers become stuck carrying out an outdated tradition. By looking at the mindset of the characters in "The Lottery" one can see that change and freedom of speech are not accepted which is significant because Shirley Jackson alludes to the result of forcing social conformity, which is the inability to correct immoral social norms. Though tradition is known to stay the same, the natural diversity occurring in civilization makes change inevitable. Despite this observation Jackson portrays how humans tend to stick to routine. In the town square after Tessie wins the lottery, the narrator comments, "Although the villagers had forgotten the ritual and lost the original box, they still remembered to use stones" (Jackson 6). Characters refuse to stop a tradition even though it no longer yields significance to them. This is because some remain set in their own ways and are trained to perceive change with a negative tone even if it is truly for the better. After Mr. Summers calls his name, Warner says to the crowd gathered in the town square, "Seventy–seventh year I been in the lottery... seventy–seventh time" (Jackson 4). Through this statement, he implies that society and its habits should not be changed. This man, who ironically has never been the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Analysis Of Alan Turing's Views On Morality I way society reacted to Alan Turning being gay, made me think about morally. Is there a set morally or does society have a different sense of morally in different places and time? Does morally change over time or just are idea of morally? But also I think if Alan Turing didn't have such a passionate relationship with Christopher that to some would not have been morally right would we have crack enigma. There the idea of morally, what people were supposed to be Alan a heterosexual or Pat who was to intelligent for her society as she said "it was considered a waste of time to give a girl a good education and if you showed a degree of intellectual ability, people seemed to regard you with a degree of suspicion" (pg. 47–48), Patricia is going... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Think of the people that kill and justify it with faith or love. Belief and emotions can change someone ideas of morally and the big question is where is the line. When do we need to look at a problem like a computer not a person. We sometimes need to turn off are fear and emotion and decide what is the best way to save the most people. The problem is the train problem, if a train was going down a track and you had to either flip the switch and kill one man or kill twenty most people would flip the switch. But if you had the same case but instead of flipping the switch you had to push the man on the tracks most could not do it. This is because we are emotional people, but we do have the practical and analytical intelligence and can analyze I problem and see the math you lose one or twenty. But maybe it would be I good things to turn off care for a second and push the man in front of the train because wouldn't can save twenty men. This is why we are not computers, we have morally and emotions that can we very helpful but sometimes hurtful. The train case one's care and lack of strength lead to twenty deaths instead of one, so the question is can morally and emotional be a demerit. Would certain times be better if we could think like computers, this an age old question and I believe no but, maybe the other side has a point, the computer would have saved twenty men and killed ... • 8. Bias In The Media's Twist Story Half of the things from modern media that people have heard has probably been twisted in some way. I believe that the media does twist stories, to make things sound different. There are plenty of examples where the media will make a situation sound different, show bias towards one person, or lie and gives false facts. The media does this a lot more than often than you think, and it can affect a humongous area. Surprisingly often, the media will change a story to make someone or something sound worse. For my first example, a newspaper makes Philip's fight against his suspension sound worse (AVI 127.) The media is making Philip's situation sound like a colossal problem, when it's actually just a minor thing. The media is making Miss Narwin sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A newspaper company lies about Philip's story, and gives out false facts (AVI 118.) This company is lying, and completely changing the story, making it more interesting, but also false. The media gives out false facts, and someone uses them in a school board meeting (AVI 125.) This shows how the media giving out false facts, does end up tricking people who eventually might end up spreading the false facts. News lies about the location of a kind story (Sigmund Fraud 12.) Here, there is a story that is broadcasted across the entire world but is considered "local. " This is showing that the media is twisting a story to make it seem like it is something within their community, even if it was across the world. Media lies to help Stalin hide something dangerous (John Hayward 2–3.) In this example, the media was twisting a story some decades ago, to make a situation seem like everything was okay. Helping Stalin changed the entire course of history. News outletslie about a young boy named Jimmy (John Hayward 7–9.) In Washington D.C. the news created a fake story about a little boy named Jimmy, who was an 8 year old heroin addict. The media lies, and creates a fake story about this boy just to have something interesting to offer. Media lies, saying fake news is the reason Hillary lost (Chris Pandolfo 37–38.) • 9. The Consequences Of Social Norms In The American Society In a public setting and in society in general, there are certain rules that are followed unconsciously by people. People are unaware most times that they control and manipulate their behavior to fit into a certain societal setting. While it is perfectly normal to sing along and dance to music in the privacy of the home, it is frowned upon to do such behavior in public. These rules that people tend to follow unconsciously and consciously are referred to as social norms. Social norms vary from culture to culture. In some cultures, like Japan, slurping food is a sign of enjoyment and is welcomed in a public and private setting. However, in America and other societies, slurping food or eating with your mouth open is completely unacceptable. Norms can be broken down into four categories: folkways, mores, taboos, and laws. The social norm that my partner and I chose to breach was a folkway norm. Folkway norms are behaviors that society deems as acceptable and unacceptable behavior such as manners and etiquette. Breaking a folkway brings no serious consequences like breaking a law. In our experiment, we decided to violate dining etiquette. Ashely and I realized that it is perfectly acceptable to consume food on the ground if it is at a park or the privacy of the home and even when most people are participating in the same behavior. It is, however, strange and unusual to see people dining as if in a picnic in a public setting where furniture, such as tables and chairs are offered. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"He wants us to meet him at Wallington Hall." He scraped back his lawn chair and jogged down the front porch steps. A minute later, he was headed across the yard on his faded blue bicycle. "So the green light means that the ghost was a fake?" I guessed. "No, no." He lifted his eyes from the contraption and gave me a worried look. "It was very real." "Real?" Twist's eyebrows quivered. "Come on." I grabbed his wrist and dragged him up the stairs. "You wanted to show us something, remember?" "Oh, right," he groaned. We tiptoed down the dark hall and intothe secret room. The casket was gone. Twist pointed to a trap door in the floor that we hadn't seen before. Seth's eyes got wide. "Where did that come from?" "It was here the entire time. We just didn't see it before because it was covered with a rug and dust." Twist yanked the cord. Thetrapdoor swung up, and a wooden ladder clattered into place behind one of the walls. "Come on." The steps trembled as we climbed down. Seth reached the bottom and moved his flashlight around, a dim and shaky beam of yellow light against the darkened shaft. In a story generally the protagonist pulls on different types of archetypes to learn from their mistakes and be different with those strengths. In the novel, Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson, the protagonist, Tyler needs to go through phases in order to ultimately achieve the goal of self–identity that not necessarily he wants but the society accepts. So the journey begins, with Tyler in the front seat, searching for a person he could be, he uses his friends, friends of friends, his physical surroundings, to be one person in all of his obstacles. First the creators discuss about the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) canceling capabilities of UTP and STP. However, the way each one is designed to cancel the interference is different. EMI can arise from many ways and from a number of sources, being either man made or natural. Interference is caused by an electromagnetic disturbance affecting the performance of a device, transmission, or system. The video further describes what UTP and STP is. • 17. Paradise Lost And Antigone Comparison "To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society." (Roosevelt). Since the beginning of time societies have existed, thriving among mankind. Societies dictate norms and regulations for the people living within them by establishing a status quo. Since the status quo exists, a large majority of people alter their actions and words they do and say to fit the societal norm, the status quo in order to seem "normal". As common as a status quo is to societies, so is the reality of a rebel: someone who goes against the status quo, such as Antigone. Societies also have people who overly conform, in turn suffering negative consequences, such as Eve. If a comparison of both works (Antigone and Paradise Lost) are taken, it will remain obvious that Antigone materializes as a stronger, more self–independent character who is against the societal norms, whereas Eve lacks enough inner strength and willpower to avoid conforming to the origin of the negativity of social norms. In general, society is not an evil device to have a part in, rather, it is completely normal. If an individual lives in a community, neighborhood, city, town, village, etc., they belong in a society. Societies provide "chaos management"; they keep people supposedly in line and provide rules. Rules are not wicked, but sometimes certain rules may go against the morals of a person, making the rules a negative aspect of society. This transforms the relationship of an individual existing in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most Americans use the elevator without incident, and we all know how to behave in one. For example, it is a "norm" that when you get into an elevator, if someone is standing in one corner, you go to the other corner. You do NOT stand right next to them and crowd them when the rest of the elevator is empty. Another norm would be that you face the doors– you do NOT keep your back to the door and stare at the other people in the elevator. So, think about why these norms are in place and what purpose they serve (some hints would be to think about personal space, our tolerance for strangers, etc). There are four basic types of connection media that are used for connecting separate computers together on the same computer network. Both categories are copper cabling, fiber optic cabling, wireless signal, and infrared signals. The first two types of connection media on our lives are known as bounded network media because they both use wire of some sort in order to connect or bound one computer to another on a network. Copper cables are the most commonly used of the four types of network connection media. Copper cabling sends data in binary format from one computer system on a network to another through the use of electrical signals. Fiber optic cabling follows copper cabling when it comes to frequency of use. Fiber optic cable has a completely different configuration for transferring binary data across the network from one computer system to another computer system. Unlike copper cable fiber optic cable does not use electrical signals when encoding binary data instead it transmits the data as pulses of light. Fiber optic cables transmit the binary data as light pulses in a similar fashion to the way copper cables use electrical pulses to transmit binary data. The next two types of connection media are known as unbounded network media due to the fact that they do not use any type of physical wiring to connect the different computer systems on a ... • 21. Lady Macbeth Character Analysis Two scenes later, Shakespeare delves deeper into Lady Macbeth's character which adds another perspective to the predicament Macbeth finds himself faced with. Lady Macbeth makes apparent, to the audience, regarding her husband, that she has 'fear' concerning 'thy nature', and that Macbeth is 'too full o' th' milk of human kindness'. This suggests that Lady Macbeth fears that her husband is incapable of producing what she deems necessary for him to gain the kingship. He possesses the desire, but the ruthlessness required in order to secure kingship and usurp the throne, is something that Lady Macbeth opts to take upon herself after minimal deliberation, which reveals much about her and her husband, in terms of Lady Macbeth's dominance that would shock a contemporary audience. The word 'milk' is perhaps alluding to her belief that Macbeth doesn't possess the strength of character that at the time was seemingly synonymous with masculinity. The audience may well feel as though Lady Macbeth believes that Macbeth yearns for the kingship, yet he will not be proactive in going about obtaining it by illegitimate means as she labels him as too kind to take a leading role in an approach of that ilk. Shakespeare arguably here raises a wider debate by using the play as a mouthpiece to voice his concerns regarding the twisted society of the time in that kindness could be seen as something that would be detrimental to an individual. Shakespeare also perhaps intends to voice concerns over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mulan And The Hayes Code Humberto Gonzalez Professor Gittings Wheeler ARH2740 – 884671 Mulan and the Hayes Code In 1998, Disney produced a groundbreaking movie that promoted girls to be themselves and be who they are. The message this movie conveys is to always be yourself no matter what the social norm promotes you to be. Despite this being a very heartwarming movie with a positive message, back in the 1930 's it would have been considered heresy. The Hayes Code was enacted during this time and enforced general rules onto films in order for them to stay morally acceptable for the public. This Disney film breaks a few of those rules, most notably the first and third general principles, which involve causing the audience to gain sympathy toward the side of the crime/wrongdoing, causing the law to be ridiculed and indecent exposure during a bathing scene; which as a result caused me to not agree with the "Reasons Supporting the Preamble of the Code" section of the Hayes Code. The first two offenses this film involves swaying the audience 's opinion in favor of Mulan, who has to put up with demeaning actions toward her and ultimately breaks the law. In the beginning of the film, she is getting prepared to attend a ceremony that will determine if she is an appropriate bride for marriage, and also to determine if she will bring honor to her family. A norm violation is when a person goes against a certain way that culture and society expects one to act. When going against the norm it means that you are doing something that is not acceptable to one's society or their culture. Normative behavior is expected to be in every culture. For example, in our society men and women have the freedom to wear whatever they please, we are allowed to show our legs, arms, feet etc. because its an expression of who we are and what we like. Tzu believes to be properly educated an individual must devote they're life to proper learning. The type of learning Tzu valued in today's terms, would be those who are college educated. Tzu believed for an individual to be moral, they must be properly educated, but this is not true. Morals are not born in classrooms, morals are learned from all around us, starting at a young age. Most morals people learn such as right and wrong come from their parents and those around us when we are young. The moral development of a person, comes from the world around them. Culture, family, and other role models make up the majority of a person's moral compass. With education playing a small rule in building someone's moral code. Starting at a young age we begin to learn and form our own morals, by observing others around us. For most people, we begin learning our morals and beliefs from our parents. Most children begin forming their moral beliefs, when they observe and see the actions their parents display during specific situations. They, by observing, create their own moral beliefs based on their observations. Not every moral choice a parent shows will be taught to the child. The child may see their parent's moral choice to abuse alcohol, and create a negative view of it because of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. My Mistress Eyes By Blazon Sonnet During Shakespeare's time, the societal norms that cultivated women were very precise. Women were held to high standards to look certain and act in a specific way, but did society ever take it too far? Many poets during Shakespeare's time wrote blazon sonnets, ones that compared women to the most wondrous things life has to offer; gems, jewels, plants, and stars. Such beautiful comparisons, but so unrealistic and degrading. Women had become a collection of objects rather than human, but Shakespeare shed some light on the matter at hand and presented a new way of thinking. In Shakespeare's My Mistress' Eyes, he purposefully contradicts the typical blazon tradition, uses enjambment, and uses rhyme schemes to create a sonnet which serves as a statement that disowns the societal views on women. The sonnet itself sounds like an argument more than anything. If you pay attention to the tone of the poem, it appears as though Shakespeare is tearing this woman apart in the cruelest ways. He appears to not find her beautiful, and he cannot seem to understand what is beautiful about her, but he knows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poem can be considered a blazon traditional sonnet although it presents the tradition in an unconventional way. The typical way a blazon sonnet presents itself is through the broken–down description of a woman's qualities. Women are usually highly praised and they are made to appear so out of reach; they become unobtainable even by the poet themselves. Women are portrayed as a collection of objects rather than human which accentuates the idea that they are so unattainable because no woman like them actually exist. The idea that beauty is what defines, and what controls a man's love for a woman, is not depicted in Shakespeare's sonnet, My Mistress' Eyes. In fact, Shakespeare takes a completely new twist on the tradition, one that many individuals find insulting, while the rest find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Standards are put in place to make everything work together error free. Because Stability, Consistency, Minimization of packet errors. 4.1.2 The voltage for registering a bit of 1 on Ethernet can be as low as 2.5 volts or even 1 volt. Why is this so low when the capacity for transmitting electricity on the copper wire is so high? Use your textbook and Internet research to support your answer. Because the voltage used to transmit data needs only be high enough for the receiver to detect it. Making the voltage higher would make the receiver electronics more difficult. 4.1.3 ... Use your textbook and Internet research to compose your answer. Hint: The crossover cable is more complex than simply reversing the entire set of wires. You are wiring the input pins to the output pins and vice versa. 4.1.6 Briefly describe the layered construction of a coaxial cable from the inner core to the outer insulation. Use your textbook and Internet research to compose your answer. Coaxial cable consists of a core of copper wire surrounded by insulation, a braided metal shielding, and an outer cover. 4.1.7 Based solely on the distance limitation of UTP cable, what should you guarantee about any network you plan for UTP cable? • 42. Notes On Communications And Networking Department of Computer Science Assignment 2 CS 2204: COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKING 1.What is crosstalk? How is it minimized in case to twisted pair of wire? Crosstalk can be defined as the interference to a signal path from other localized signal paths. When several lines are close together, the current passing along one line may cause current to flow in one or more adjacent lines. This may be the result of capacitance between the two lines or the effect of inductance. This effect is known as crosstalk, and often occurs in multi–cored cables and in the ribbon cables used for connecting computers to peripherals. The term crosstalk is often limited in its use to circuits/conductors in close proximity, where the coupling path may be characterized by the mutual capacitance and mutual inductance of the circuits. It may be eliminated in multi–cored cables by having each of the cores enclosed in a separate earthed shield, though this makes the cable considerably more expensive. Twisted–pair cable consists of one or more pair of twisted wire and comes in two forms: STP (shielded twisted pair) or UTP (unshielded twisted pair). STP consists of several pairs of twisted wires that are surrounded by a foil shielding and an outer jacket or sheath. When a signal travels down the wire it produces a magnetic field and can produce unwanted interference with other pairs of wire within the same cable (cross talk). The twist in each pair of wire helps to reduce crosstalk and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Norms Are Social Expectations That Guide Our Behavior As we know, norms are social expectations that guide our behavior. In this paper, I will discuss norm violations that I've observed, and my own personal norm violation that I committed. I will describe what happened, what was done, and the reactions of the people around when these norms begat. I will also discuss the significance of folkways, mores, values, and sanctions to my observations. There were two norms in which I observed. The first violation I spotted was a bit... out of the ordinary. One day, I decided to take a trip to the Marketplace on Ming with one of my buddies. All was seemingly normal until we stumbled upon a sight that shocked both of us. It was around 7:30 p.m. when we walked upon a pack of humans standing in a circle with their dogs. They were located where the suit stores and black tables are. As we first walked up, there seemed to be only a few dogs and a few humans. As we drew nearer, though, we found that there were at least 30 humans and 30 dogs. That was unbelievable. As we got within sight of the subjects, they all turned and looked at us at the same exact time. Both the human faction and the dogs simultaneously turned to us. My friend and I could not, at the time, decipher which party was in control, the humans or the dogs? My friend and I decided that this sight was... too much... so we decided to slowly walk away in a backward manner. Having prior knowledge of my sociology norm paper assignment, my friend thought it would be a good idea to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Conducting A Norm Experiment In today's society, norms are expected by everyone. According to the book Essentials of Sociology a Down– To– Earth Approach, Hansen states that norms are expectations of "right" behavior (Hansen, 2014). There are also two forms of norms that may be strictly enforced or not. There is folkways and mores. Folkways are norms that aren't strictly enforced while mores are strictly enforced for essential thought to care values or the well–being of a group (Hansen, 2014). Along with a norm and the two types, there may also be reactions to it. These reactions may be positive or negative and termed as sanctions. Sanctions are either expressions of an approval given to people for upholding norms or expression of disapproval for violating them (Hansen, 2014). In conducting a norm experiment, the terms were put to a test. The experiment consisted of an observed norm violation and an individual norm violation. The experiments resulted in what I had hypothesized. My hypothesis consisted of sanctions of the norms that were conducted. In the observe norm violation experiment, it was concluded to result in negative sanction. The experiment consisted of a friend of mine and I ordering our lunch at In n Out. It was my friend, Denise's turn to order her meal. Denise ordered a double– double with no cheese, no thousand island spread, a single patty and only onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. The employee looked at her in a dumbfound manner and confirmed her ordered as a hamburger. Denise was not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Chillingworth: A Hidden Monstrosity Summoned by Hate A dark figure of a man watches from the background as a serene Puritan village cast their eyes upon the adulterer and her child being publicly punished. His dark, cold and divisive eyes flicker to the adulterer, the woman whom he calls his wife and devices an utter plan of cold, ghastly revenge with the motive of pure destruction. Chillingworth; a character devised from the intelligent mind of Nathaniel Hawthorne is a symbol of the evolution of one whose mind is obsessed with the revenge of others. In the Scarlet Letter, Chillingworth is quite the odd one. Escaping from an Indian village where he was once held captive, Chillingworth returns to the village, only to be greeted by the sight of his wife being publicly shamed for the sin of adultery. Chillingworth, gravely distorted by the news, seeks revenge against his wife and her secret lover. As shown in Chillingworth, the contrived desire for revenge against others reveals a hidden monstrosity. Chillingworth's bitterness, jealousy and guiltiness eventually become a contrived desire for revenge. In particular, his bitterness against his unfaithful wife, his jealousy of her love for someone else and the guiltiness of not being a proficient husband leads to the demise of his character. The revulsion stored deep in the corridors of his heart twist and maul his character that he goes from being an intelligent individual to a grand manipulator.
