Organizational Overview
British American Tobacco (BAT) started their journey as Imperial
Tobacco 103 years ago. The first factory in Bangladesh was set
up in 1949 at Fauzdarhut, in Chittagong. Before it was Pakistan
Tobacco Company but after 1972 it became Bangladesh
Tobacco Company Ltd. In 1998, the company changed its name
and identity to British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BAT
Bangladesh). It is a part of British American Tobacco plc, one of
the world’s most international businesses. It is a market leader
in more than 50 countries selling over 300 brands in some 180
markets worldwide with the strength of almost 90000
employees. Besides they hold 72.91% of their shares.

 Regular feedback mechanisms for assessing views on reward;

Recommendation
 Efficiently distribute the number of employee in required position.
 Reduce the extra workload of the employee.
 They should increase the manpower of HRD especially in recruitment wing. .
 Arrange proper training for the employee.
 After training, it is very much important to take evaluation about training program. They should
evaluate the trainees properly.
 Better MIS support is needed for smoother operation.

Conclusion
British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh intends to set standards
as the market leader in Bangladesh. It demonstrates that an
institution can provide efficient, friendly and modern service on a
profitable basis. Human Resource Department is the most
confidential department for any organization as well as Human
Resources Division in BAT Bangladesh. The British American Tobacco
(BAT) Bangladesh is an organization that confirms the best service to
the customers as well as to the employees by Human Resource
Division. By knowing about the HR Division, the knowledge learnt
would be helpful enough to sustain with the real organizational
environment. The BAT Bangladesh also believes that the contribution
of the employees is the key to achieve the organization goals.

Before it was Pakistan Tobacco Company but after 1972 it became Bangladesh Tobacco Company Ltd. In 1998, the company changed its name and identity to British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BAT Bangladesh). It is a part of British American Tobacco plc, one of the world’s most international businesses. It is a market leader in more than 50 countries selling over 300 brands in some 180 markets worldwide with the strength of almost 90000 employees. Besides they hold 72.91% of their shares. 4
