 The recipient of a doctor of education in
educational leadership and policy studies
from Hofstra University, Amy Kenton
currently works as chief executive officer of
Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence
Charter School in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Responsible for overseeing its entire
operations, Amy Kenton also employs the
Charlotte Danielson Framework toward
education.
 A former economist, Charlotte Danielson
has become an internationally renowned
teaching effectiveness expert. Aware of the
cognitive challenges faced by many
teachers, she created a teacher evaluation
methodology that bolsters the quality of the
educators and inspires continued
education. Her Framework for Teaching
follows Interstate Teacher Assessment and
Support Consortium standards and applies
a constructivist philosophy toward teaching
responsibility.
 Divided into four domains, the Framework
consists of 22 elements that comprise 76
components. The first domain, Planning and
Preparation, features topics such as
“Demonstrating Knowledge of Pedagogy” and
“Setting Instructional Outcome.” Domain 2
focuses on the Classroom Environment and
making it more conducive to learning.
Instruction, or Domain 3, looks at how teachers
interact with students and the importance of
flexibility in responding to their wants and
needs. Finally, educators must consider
Professional Responsibilities, including improved
communication with colleagues, in Domain 4.

Amy Kenton - The Charlotte Danielson Framework

  • 2.  The recipient of a doctor of education in educational leadership and policy studies from Hofstra University, Amy Kenton currently works as chief executive officer of Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence Charter School in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Responsible for overseeing its entire operations, Amy Kenton also employs the Charlotte Danielson Framework toward education.
  • 3.  A former economist, Charlotte Danielson has become an internationally renowned teaching effectiveness expert. Aware of the cognitive challenges faced by many teachers, she created a teacher evaluation methodology that bolsters the quality of the educators and inspires continued education. Her Framework for Teaching follows Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium standards and applies a constructivist philosophy toward teaching responsibility.
  • 4.  Divided into four domains, the Framework consists of 22 elements that comprise 76 components. The first domain, Planning and Preparation, features topics such as “Demonstrating Knowledge of Pedagogy” and “Setting Instructional Outcome.” Domain 2 focuses on the Classroom Environment and making it more conducive to learning. Instruction, or Domain 3, looks at how teachers interact with students and the importance of flexibility in responding to their wants and needs. Finally, educators must consider Professional Responsibilities, including improved communication with colleagues, in Domain 4.
