Questionnaire
The easiest way for us to get our servey out quick enough to
the right people was from using surveymonkey, it meant were
were able to be specific with who we wanted to do our
questionnaire.
We were to make sure that we used a people that we knew
were different ages and that they had different tastes in music
so we were able to get the fairest results that we could get.
The main idea was to see what people really liked within music
videos and so we knew what we could include within our own.
Out of the 20 people we chose 20% of these were male and
the other 80% were female, we did it like this as we knew that
our main audience was in fact female so we needed more
opinions from them rather than males.
Even though most of the female teenagers that answered out
questionnaire liked R&B it also showed that those 20+ also
quite enjoyed it this meant that it showed the R&B as a whole
is a very popular genre through all ages.
To get an indication of how our chosen people felt about R&B
music we asked them to rate it out of 5 stars, this meant we
were to get a sense of if we had chosen the right genre to do
and if it would be liked by all. From the results of our
questionnaire it showed that over half of the people that
answered it rated R&B either 4 or 5 stars making it the most
popular one on our questionnaire
We then asked who was their favourite R&B artist, 8 of the
people that answered our questionnaire said Rihanna which
meant that she was the favourite one out every artist on
there, the next favourite was then Beyoncé the Whitney
Houston. We also asked people to rate pop and rock out of 5
stars, people mainly rated pop music at 4 which was good but
still not as a good as R&B the most popular artist out of these
was Justin Bieber, so even comparing the two it was clear
that we definitely wanted to use a female lead within our
video. Our results for rock music were more as it showed us
that 30% of people had rated it at 1 which meant they
thought it was rubbish many people said that they didn’t
have a favourite artist for rock and the most votes we had
were for fall out boy but this is a bit difficult to talk about as
they also are a pop rock band. So to conclude we knew for
definite that we had chosen the right genre to do.

We wanted to know how often people watched music videos
so we asked them how many hours a week they thought they
watched music videos for, this question was important to us as
we wanted to make sure that the people that were asked
would be interested in our own music video.
We already knew that less people watch music videos now a
days purely because of the fact they are able to download a
song and listen to it whether they go.
The results showed us that 20% of people didn’t actually watch
music videos and 45% of people also had music videos on in
the back which isn’t technically watching them. 25% of people
said they watch music videos 1-3 hours a week which is
nothing when you compare it to how many hours in a week
there are, and lastly only 5% of people said they watched
music videos 7+ hours a week this meant that we were able to
tell that watching music videos for songs was is definitely not
as important as the actual music is.
