The document summarizes the learner's activities for the day. They read a book and listened to an audio CD about mining. They learned about the pros and cons of mining, such as how it provides jobs but can also endanger wildlife. They had difficulty remembering new vocabulary but tried using context clues. Going forward, they want to practice listening skills through movies and find new books to read to improve comprehension.

3. Today I learned:
(Specify content and language knowledge, your ideas about these things that you have learned
and/or how to make use of them.)
From my reading, I can summarize the pros and cons. Mining Pros,Many people depend on mining
to support their families. Many countries depend on income from mining. Minerals are used to make
things around us like kitchen utensils, coins and even talcum powder. Mined resources such as coal,
oil, natural gas and uranium are used to create energy.
Mining Cons, The Earth’s landscape is destroyed by the mining process. Animal and plant species’
habitats can be lost, and species can become extinct. Mining can cause important natural resources
to be used up. Mining can ruin land that has religious, spiritual or cultural value to indigenous
people. Mining can be very dangerous for the those that work in the industry and the public.
When I finished the activity. I satisfied with my learning because I'm try the best to understand the
meaning of a words in this story and reading a sentence. I think I get listening and reading skills. I
have learned many new vocabulary words, such as illuminates, eyesore, natural resources, minerals,
For example The streets were illuminated with strings of colouredlights., They think the new library
building is an eyesore

4. What I found difficult was:
(Explain how you tried to solve any learning problems, or state why the tasks were easy for you.)
I have problem about vocabulary because I can't remember many vocabulary for long time . I
Attempt to find the meaning of new vocabulary. with other word In the sentence. My Learning
problem that i have is listening because some word sounds are not clear so i have to listen to them
again but if i listen to them again and also don't know the word I will look at the context and read
the story so i will know the story and can tell what it is about.

5. Next time I will:
(State the names of the lesson/activity/topic and the material you will do and the skills you will
learn/practice. Give reasons for your choices.)
I cannot listen speech every word. But I improved by listening for the subject and the verb first, and
then listening for the other parts of a sentence will help me understand the sentence better.
I think I have to practice listening more in English such as watching the movie with English
soundtrack. I will try to find a new book to read and understand. And I will do the lessons in the
program because these topics. It is to be understood.
