What Are The Similarities Between Kanye West And Hype...
Kanye West and Hype Williams have been accused by the film director Gaspar Noé for ripping off
his fantasy movie 'Enter the Void' for the 'All of the Lights' music video. The similarities between
the two videos were criticized by fans and critics in 2011, but Noé remained silent about it until
now. In an interview, the film director finally addressed the controversy and has spoken about it. He
revealed he was never consulted by the rapper during the making of the music video. Instead he was
surprised when he saw Kanye's video and couldn't help but notice the similarities of it. He said he
was totally in shock after he noticed William's name was added to the content, using his typography.
"The director (Hype Williams) was someone else who

Dylan And Mos Def's Music Analysis
While Bob Dylan and Mos Def's music often differs greatly, Dylan's "Hurricane" and Mos Def's
"Mathematics," as shown at the end of this paper, have at least as much in common as not. Both
artists continue to have impressive careers despite differing backgrounds. Mos Def was born in
Brooklyn in 1973 and has had successful careers in both acting and music (Frick). His awards
include Black Reel Award for best actor in The Woodsman, Golden Globe and Emmy nominations
for his role in Something the Lord Made, his album The New Danger landed on the Billboard album
chart at number five, and one single from the album, "Sex, Love & Money," earned him a Grammy
nomination for best alternative/urban performance (Frick). Dylan was born in Duluth Minnesota ...

Mos Def introduces himself in "Ha hah You know the deal It's just me yo" and adds his name to the
song in saying "The Mighty Mos Def." These intros and naming are common in rap as well as some
pop. Mos Def also wrote in metered lines, with stressed syllables that make it sound like rap. This
accompanied by a simple but consistent beat help to create the overall sound. Mos Def also points to
specific examples of his subject, citing "only 15% of profits, ever see my pockets," "Hip–Hop past

The Movie ' The Band One Direction '
Have you ever found yourself in awe at the videos of the three–year–old singing "Rudolph the Red–

five talented, handsome, young men who use their favorable looks to their advantage; basically the

One Direction even brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "over–used love songs."
Although love songs are normally the topic for all artists, it's also the biggest in boy bands. One
Direction started with a love song and is most likely going to end with one too. In their newest,
well–liked songs, "You and I," it is all about not having a typical relationship, and no one
understanding their love. The music video was pretty popular, even too many critics. The Australian
production company "Oh Yea Wow" have accused One Direction and their managers of
"regurgitating" a video for Clubfeet's song "Everything You Wanted." In their song "Best Song

once again accused of stealing a song. This time of The Who's track "Baba O' Riley." When I say
"over–used," I honestly mean "over used." I 've also never understood why they write these songs
about love, when their audience is typically twelve–year old girls; the age love shouldn 't even be
considered. On their song "Midnight Memories," it was also pointed out it has the same similar
structure as Def Leppard's song "Pour Some Sugar On Me." In addition, on their very first single

knowing what she's worth, and how everything about her creates her uniqueness and beauty. This

Def Leppard Influence On History
Def Leppard
Def Leppard was a music band of the 20th century, that brought heavy metal music to people all
around the world. It all started when five kids came together wanting to play music. Then went on to
be the most well known bands in history. Def Leppard has become one of the best bands of the 20th
century.
Def Leppard was a band that had five kids interested in music in many ways. For example, Phillip
Kenneth became interested when he got his first guitar when he was 16. Also, Rick Allen was 11
years old when his parents got him his first drum set (Jeffery, 2011). When the band began to play at
a younger age, it inspired them to play for a career. This inspired them to love playing music which
lead them to their successful career. In addition, to them being inspired to play, their childhood has
played a role too. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, once Rick Allen got his drum set he practice every morning when he woke up he
would play. Joseph Elliot was idolized by the Salvation Army Band. Joseph Elliott wanted to play
after listening to the beatles throughout his childhood (Jeffery, 2011). Their childhood did indeed
affect them to start their career. Since, their childhood played a role they went to start their career,
which later played out as them meeting.
The members of the band came from different paths, but eventually formed one group. Some
examples are, Richard savage and Peter Willis knew each other from school and started up a band
called Atomic Mass. Another example is that Rick Allan dropped out of school to be in the band Def
Leppard (Jeffery, 2011). Once they started the band, Joe Elliott contributed to the naming of the
band "Def Leppard". How the band met was very important and that's what started it all. In addition,

Hip Hop Racism
Since its early days Hip Hop has been in the midst of political and racial violence here in America;
sometimes not good, but always real. Nocella II et al. (2017) article stated that: Hip Hop was
founded as a response to faulty urban policy, poverty, and social rejection. The culture is founded
upon the principles of community and resistance to the status quo. The theme of anti–colonial and
anti–racist practices connects Hip Hop culture/activism to the work of food justice and
environmental justice scholars/activists. (p. 179) So, on many artists have come to use their platform
to not only be a voice used to illustrate the stories of blacks in America but an avenue for change.
From N.W.A's "F the Police" to J. Cole's "Be Free", Hip Hop has historically been aware of the
racial tensions in America. However, there are still those who argue that Hip Hop just glamorizes
gang violence and ghetto–life. Nevertheless, there are plenty of rappers who are "socially
conscious" and have remained true to the heart of Hip Hop. "Socially conscious" or "woke" rappers
have always been around, it is just that their music is considered to be underground because they are
not mainstream artists. Rose (2008) explains that "Generally speaking, "socially conscious" artists,
no matter how brilliant their rhymes or how funky their beats, have been kept on the margins of
commercial radio and industry promotional agendas" (p. 243). This makes it extremely difficult to
be an underground rapper because

An Analysis Of Kanye West's Music
Fans of Kanye West's music will be in for a treat because the rap artist plans to do three albums a
year. According to BoomBox, March 13, 2016, Kanye tweeted that he is dropping his fashion career
and focusing on music.
"No more fashion calendar... I'm going Mad Max... 6 collections a year... 3 albums a year."
Kanye West has one album, "The Life of Pablo" already completed, which is his eighth album, and
he released it last month during the debut of his Yeezy 3 fashion line . He allegedly has another
album in the works called, "Turbo Grafx 16" which he plans to release this summer. Kanye is still
working on the final mixes for this album. It is possible that he can do a third album and have it out
before 2016 ends.

Another problem with Kanye is his Twitter rants when he attacks people who do not agree with him,
or love his music or fashion.
Last month, after his Yeezy 3 fashion show, Kanye attacked Taylor Swift, Amber Rose, and Beck at
the 1Oak nightclub. He had a meltdown backstage of Saturday Night Live because someone
changed his set without asking or informing him of the changes. And he also went after Bob Ezrin
for criticizing his new album "The Life of Pablo." Bob who has produced and worked on Pink
Floyd's The Wall, KISS's Destroyer, and Lou Reed's Berlin gave a review of Kanye's music and it
was not all praise. "Unlike other creators in his genre like Jay–Z, Tupac, Biggie or even M.C.

The Essence Of Kanye West
The essence of Kanye West is a contradiction; he embodies two opposite sides of the hip hop
spectrum: the conscious and the ignorant. One side of the spectrum embodies the ideals of
brotherhood, collective being, and addresses the social and political aspects affecting the people of
society as Kanye explained formerly as "spoken word." The other side demands the artist to live
through the art of self–gratification by any means necessary or as Kanye put it, being able to "buy
80 gold chains and go ig'nant." Some may argue that the art of compromise in the
commercialization of rap music has been compromised by self–proclaimed fashion mogul, and
egotistical rap artist, Kanye West. He 's one of the most virtuous and artistically driven rappers in
the game, with goals much bigger just dropping albums.
In 2004, College Dropout was the album that brought the combative soul producer from Chicago
into the hip hop conversation. It sold 2.6 million copies and won a Grammy for Best Rap Album.
On Ye's classic, he addressed his personal struggles of insecurity, conforming to social norms,
spirituality, materialism, consumerism, family and personal relationships, near–death experiences,
and his rags to riches story. "All Falls Down" was one of Kanye's early masterpieces, a time when
his vulgarity, goofiness, soul, and intelligence came together to create a mesmerizing four minute
story. Originally debuted at the Def Jam Poetry Slam as a spoken word, you could hear the sincerity,
soul, and

Well, this is it. These are the only seniors who were able to survive the culminating exhibition. If I

Norway. You know, it's funny. As I look around at the familiar faces in the student section, I am
reminded about something. Our class, particularly the girls, have been very fashion–conscious over
the last four years. Some even seem to be in competition with one another. Well girls, here we are on

Evidently, I'm supposed to talk about the future, and where we might be headed.
In terms of the future, I feel that we are at an advantage. Every student in this room has passed the
Culminating Exhibition. We've proven to the community, the school, and ourselves that we have
gotten the most out of our days at Hoskins High School and earned our right to move on. It is,
however, up to us to take it to the next level. It's like Mr. Sullivan said at our senior meeting, a
couple of you were there. I actually had to piece this quote together from various torn napkins and
Post–it notes. Mr. Sullivan said, "You've come this far, why give up now?" He's right. We've been
through 12 years of a 16–year program, we would be cheating ourselves if this is as far as we get.
Let's take what we've learned so far with us into college, and for some, into the world of work. We
don't have the right to waste our minds and our talent. I guess it's cool to have a job.
I'm probably going to regret this later when I find myself on the receiving end of a
wedgie/swirly/pantsing/beating, but when I look back at my years at Hoskins High, the words of
Stevie Nicks come into mind. In her song Landslide, she sings, "I've been afraid of changes, because
I built my life around you." Like so many of you, my friends and fellow students, I have built my
life around Hoskins High School and it will be very hard to leave and meet new people, new
teachers, new friends. That's the way life

Jackson Vs Kanye West Essay
In her epilogue article "Crack Music: Michael Jackson's Invincible," Elizabeth Amisu brings to light
a multitude of striking similarities between a handful of seemingly unrelated artists. The artists in
question being Michael Jackson, Kanye West, and none other than William Shakespeare. Upon first
reading the article, I could see the similarities between Michael Jackson and Kanye West, as both
were black artists who were able to break through into the mainstream music industry despite
institutional limitations. However, I initially believed that their relation to Shakespeare was quite a
stretch, but after reading further realized that Shakespeare had many similar hurdles to overcome as
Jackson and West, just perhaps in different forms. Jackson, West, and Shakespeare all had to
overcome a multitude of obstacles in their own careers in order for their talents to be recognized by
the mainstream. Jackson had to overcome racial barriers that were designed to keep exclusively

Jackson brought rock aspects and soul aspects into the pop industry, and was one of the trailblazers

of his albums ("Kanye West," 2017). On top of that, both Jackson and West had sizable impacts on
industries outside of their main one, particularly the fashion industry. Michael Jackson's impact
came from the clothes that he wore in his short films and his live performances, iconic outfits such
as the Beat It Jacket, and the suit that he wore in Smooth Criminal. Kanye West actually held a stake

Rap Music : The Most Influence Of Rap Music
"Politically Incorrect " is a term that describes language, ideas, policies, or behaviors that bring
offense to groups of people based on gender, race, culture, age, religion, physical or mental
capability, etc. People could argue that rap music fits into this category or others that it should be
respected as a form of art. In an article written by Lawrence Downes called "A Word Gone Wrong"
he writes, "In cases of discrimination, it's probably best to let those affected speak for themselves."
When artist write music the things that speak of range from racism, police brutality and struggles
they may encounter. Only they can speak for themselves. Rap music is an urban genre that grew
from the hip–hop movement which started in the 1970s. It mashes up instrumental tracks created by
a DJ with rhyming lyrics of an MC also known as a rapper. Rappers express their ideas of feelings
on politics, sexual exploits, conditions of daily life and their characters. Many critics consider rap
the greatest example of postmodern music because it adapts so well the fast and constant self–
promotor that is television. Unlike television, however, rap gives African–Americans a voice to
speak freely for political dispute. For rap music to be seen as frightening to some listeners adds to
its political insult. In a comedy stand up starring Chris Rock he goes on to say, "You have to defend
rap music. Because people always say, 'That's not music, that's not art, that's garbage! How can you
listen to that garbage? How can you listen to that trash?' And in the old days, it was easy to depend
rap music. It was easy to defend it on an intellectual level. You could break it down, intellectually,
why Grandmaster Flash, Run–D.M.C. and Whodini was art in music" (Chris). When listeners hear
the works of these well respected artists they should be aware of the ethnocentric and where they
came from. Rap has made as many fans as enemies, blamed for concerts, riots and accused of
glorifying crime and sexism. For example, Kanye West's release of the song "Famous" sparked
controversy. In the song he says, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that
bitch famous."– The lyrics refer to an event in 2009 at the VMAs when Taylor

Kanye West's Pinocchio Story

the trajectory of his life. Kanye's quest for identity formation, kickstarted by his mother's death,
leads him through the realization of his cultural entrapment and shattered psyche due to media
portrayal. This song, Pinocchio Story, encompasses his struggle through his identity crisis,
amplifying said quest with the usage of raw sonic aesthetics. To properly understand the lyrics,

Negative Effects Of Music Downloading
While some may argue that downloading music illegally increases an artist's popularity by exposure,
doing so greatly harms the artist and the dedication they put into producing their music. Supporters
of free music downloading claim that online sites only increase the popularity of an artist's music by
giving them more exposure to a bigger audience. John Dino, a supporter of free music downloading
states in his speech, "sites, such as Napster are helping artists' music to be spread around worldwide,
while simultaneously granting listeners a simple way to access music" (Theft in Music). These free
online sites give listeners a way to test an artist's music to see if they are truly interested in buying.
By doing so, it saves the listeners from buying music they could potentially not like, and it saves the
artist from gaining false music purchases that listeners could actually not be listening to. This
process can limit an artist's fans to only listeners that are interested in the artist's music and fans that
generally want to support and endorse the artist by buying their merchandise or going to their
concerts. In turn, the artist's sales should profit as more people are listening to the artist's music and
buying their products which allows them to become more known worldwide as they are getting
more easily recognized on a global scale. Regardless, even if listeners find that they are not
interested in the artist's music and therefore do not purchase their music, the music industry can still
benefit from the wide–access other artists receive. According to a speech done by Ariana Torres, she
summarizes that the music industry still makes money despite loss from free music downloading
that the industry can then turn into more contracts ("Downloading Music"). The music industry is
highly flexible mainly because they focus solely on popular artists, or emerging artists that could
potentially make a hit and gain the industry profit from their sales. Either way, the industry still
makes money because of the people listening to different artists' music. The chance of a listener
listening to only one artist is highly unlikely, so that means the listener has to be listening to two or
more artists' music. This means that

"Wind Guide You" – Composed by Jeremey Soule If the "Orchestral Suite to the Inner Light" is, in
personal opinion, the most romantic instrumental to date, the most thought provoking is "Wind
Guide You" composed by Jeremey Soule. How could an instrumental be thought provoking?
Honestly, it's just a feeling I have. The best way that I can describe it is that "Wind Guide You" is
the retelling of a somber epic.
Every once in a while, I try my hand at freelance writing (purely as a hobby), and this piece is my
go to in finding inspiration for my work. Jeremy Soule's "Wind Guide You" was featured in the
video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and first appeared on the soundtrack album of the same
name in 2011. 5. "Memory" – Performed by Barbra Streisand When it comes to vocal music, I will
confess that I typically listen to male artists. It's just personal taste. For me, there are only three
female vocalists that I could listen to for more than one or two songs. My favorite female vocalist?
Barbra Streisand. I watched the musical film Funny Girl once when I was very young. I could care

West a great artist is the fact that he has never been shy of his identity. Kanye West burst on to the

in music many questioned Kanye and his credibility to be a "rapper". He did not fit into the rapper
mold; Ye was quiet, calm and collected. Many described him as the "Kid with the Pink Polo and
Backpack" However, his music spoke to the masses as he brought a different tone to what Hip–
Hop/Rap genre used to be. It was still the hard truth about growing up in a middle–class black

dreams, he simultaneously reconciles and underlies tensions that simmer the lives of his fellow

How Has Hip Hop Changed Popular Culture?
Want to look back and see how much Hip hop has changed over the years? Hop in your car, turn on
the radio and tune into 103.5 or 102.5 then tune into 101.1, feel old yet? Well thats because you are,
and if you didn't do what I said, or even care, the radio station 101.1 plays hip hop and Rnb hits
from the 90's and the early 00's. If you compare the sound, lyrics, and even the style of music, the
difference are quite drastic. But listen closely to the stations because the contrasts are quite telling of
the standards of music in our current times. The origins of hip hop started in the late 70's as a
pastime that brought all the impoverished people of the projects together to have fun through. But
decades later in the 90's, people began to rap about many subjects ranging from the crack epidemic,
hard life in the ghetto, or just having fun, but the underlying motive of rappers in this era was to
reflect on their rough lifestyle through clever lyrics. The motive wasn't for money, but recognition
for their unique wordplay among the rap community. However, that all changed when record
companies saw a financial opportunity in rappers, and rappers saw a financial opportunity through
music. Due to the commercialization of hip hop, authenticity is rare to find in the mainstream ...

It's a culture that has gotten so big that its influence can be seen everywhere from movies,
commercials, and even pop songs. "We live in a popularity contest now," says the rapper Chuck
Inglish. The genre has become so recognized to the point of over saturation, in addition the music
industry has monopolized the radio to dumb down the masses with homogenous rap songs made by
a handful of people. So it's up to the listener to "Put our money where our ears want to be," and
support fresh, creative, and unique hip hop. If the listeners become intent with such sub standard
expectations, then the authenticity of Hip Hop will die

The Undeniable Influence of Kanye West
The Undeniable Influence of Kanye West Kanye Omari West, an icon of hip–hop, pop culture,

By using the bear alone Mr. West turned Ralph Lauren onto the masses of rappers and fans (Kanye
West: The Evolution of an Icon's Clothes). As stated by West, he is "the most influential person in
fashion in the last ten years". That statement very well may be true. West is always in the public eye
showing off his new outfits. These outfits are then turned over to the masses where people take
inspiration from them. Many people like to mimic and dress after their favorite celebrity but it
seems West has started an empire of clothing, striking deals with A.P.C., Nike, and Adidas
seemingly creating some type of "sub–genre" to clothing called "streetwear". West has been
inspiring and influencing the way rappers and the regular population dress since the days he wore a
bear on his shirt. Newer staples of West's fashion are tighter fitting clothes, leather, and suits. These
types of materials and clothing are undoubtedly a new trend in the hip–hop community and industry
all courtesy to Kanye Omari West (C.M., Emmanuel). Rap with introspective, thought provoking
lyrics never really dominated the industry. The type of rappers who wrote about these kinds of
things were usually more underground artists and generally called "backpack rappers" and their
fans, "backpackers". It's not to say rappers in the mainstream never talked about varying subjects, it

Although this particular album may not be West's most accredited album, this album was a visual
masterpiece. Not only was the tour a visual masterpiece, but it enabled West to work with new
people like Saul Williams, Paul McCartney, and Trent Reznor. Even though he did not have a
natural singing voice, one of his most significant inspirations, Michael Jackson, encouraged him to
keep trying. Not being able to sing certain notes, West switched to Auto–tune. Stand out songs
like,"Love Lockdown", showed the boldness in West's risk–taking when using Auto–tune.
Nonetheless, West was still hurting and mourning the death of his mother and felt truly lonely after
His ex–fiance, Alexis Phifer and he broke up. "Coldest Winter", is an extremely haunting track, of a

Is Chicago A Serious Problem?
Chicago is facing a serious problem. Over this year 's Fourth of July Weekend, eighty four people
were shot resulting in fourteen deaths. After this violent weekend, Mayor Rahm Emmanuel nearly
called for total martial law, calling upon United States Military 's support to help protect Chicago 's
citizens and patrol Chicacgo 's streets. So far in 2015, over 2,300 people have been shot in the city
of Chicago, and it is only a matter of days until the death toll surpasses four hundred on the year.
There are a number of factors that contribute to this inflated level of violent crime. Some would
point to loose gun restrictions, others to gang fragmentation. I believe the most influential factor

should come a greater sense of social responsibility. Imagine being a thirteen year old growing up
with a single mother in Compton or Chicago, two communities heavily inflicted with poverty and
gang violence. Too quote the website, Teen Ink says "American youth are a target of the marketers
of rap and hip–hop. In many low–income areas, some youth, particularly African–American males,
are growing up with limited opportunities. Some of them have no important male role model in their

to the dignitaries of rap and to those 'higher ups ' behind the scene who target and take advantage of
the disadvantaged kids; living in broken homes, without an identity, and desperate to be a part of
something. It is so easy to exploit troubled youth because a vast majority of the artists influencing
these young kids came from the same city, started from the same projects, and escaped from a
similar, hopeless situation. In his essay Realness and Hoodness, Ginger Jacobson states,
"Adolescents are particularly vulnerable to the information they are exposed to because they are

Analysis Of The Movie ' Gangs Of New York '
Positive Criticism – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0217505/ Warping you into Manhattan's Five
Points, an area in New York City upon which seemed as a place with no law during the mid–19th
century. The drama film directed by Martin Scorsese, Gangs of New York, provides us an account of
the anarchy that occurred; following the life of a man named Amsterdam, the son of a popular Irish–
American leader, Priest Valon. Supported by the extraordinary acting performances by Daniel Day–
Lewis (aka Bill the Butcher) and Leonardo DiCaprio (as Amsterdam) the film is a massive
achievement. Scorsese creates a visualization of American's primitive past, where violence and
unrest was frequent in New York at the beginning of the Civil War. This is due to the editing and
packaging of the story is filled with the same no–nonsense attitude that is shared with the characters
themselves. Fueled by the hostility between the different social–groups who inhabit the Five Points.
Every character lives on knives edge the whole film, as the groups live amongst each other in the
crowded burrows. Scorsese uses this attitude to elegantly transition between the multiple plot lines
within the film. In addition, the attitude gives context to the film, helping the plot lines build on top
of each other slowly increasing the tension, adding value to the viewing experience. Unlike most
films today, Gangs of New York, does not use computer generation. The coordination of the film

jamming as we speak. This band has been through just about everything you could think of and
surprisingly they are still together after drug over dose, care accident, and divorcees. First of all Def.
Leppard should get this award because they have very good musical and are a pretty sweet bad. The
other reasons I think they should get this award is because they have a lot of achievements. The first
achievement that I liked was they were on the "Bill Board 200 with their song "Hysteria", sold
10,000 in the first week of it being out, and also with the song Hysteria spent six weeks at number
one and 133 weeks on the Bill Board 200."(Caulfield 57) There next achievement was that there
was a big accident and there main drummer lost his arm. So he was back to playing the drums.
That's when they made the big hit "Hysteria in 1983 whit there album "Pyromania" after the car
accident." (Tamenbaum 16). There next big achievement was that "Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell
had there amazing guitar abilities over looked." (Hammond 16–20). The next achievement I believe
is very good because "Def. Leppard and Kiss are paring up to go on tour to support our troops in the
U.S.A." (Fekadu) The next award that they received was "The 2008 Kerrag award also known as the

Black Stars : An Extension Of Slick Rick 's Original...
Growing up in run–down neighborhood can have various effects on an individual. Getting involved
in illegal activities, albeit easy and rewarding at the time, can lead an individual to a jeopardizing
ongoing cycle. Illustrated in both Slick Rick and Black Stars "Children's Story," a young man has
been led down a wrong path, where each of their lives were dominated by illegal acts. This was
consuming to the individuals, and ultimately lead to tragic outcomes. Black Stars rendition of
"Children's Story" was an extension of Slick Rick's original composition. Black Star expanded the
track to incorporate the embezzlement often found within the music industry. Slick Rick and Black
Star emphasize the fatal aftermath that often supersedes the preoccupied performance of thieving. In
1989, Slick Rick released a single that had an undeniable truth about growing up with inferior
influences. The song starts out with Slick Rick narrating a story of a young boy growing up in the
Bronx. In conjunction with many poverty–stricken areas, this young boy was heavily influenced by
the felonious ways of others. The antagonist child encouraged the young boy to assist him in
stealing money from old folks. The young boy concurred, and they succeeded. This lead the young
boy to repeatedly burgle multiple persons, progressing from old folks to many others. Robbing
became an addiction for the boy, and he continued until he attempted to steal from an undercover
detective. The detective attempted to

Mos Def: A Poet, Lyricist, and Actor Essay

"Initially regarded as one of the most promising rappers to emerge in the late '90s, Mos Def turned
to acting in subsequent years as music became a secondary concern for him. He did release new
music from time to time, including albums such as The New Danger (2004), but his output was
erratic and seemingly governed by whim. Mos Def nonetheless continued to draw attention,
especially from critics and underground rap fans, and his classic breakthrough albums –– Black Star
(1998), a collaboration with Talib Kweli and Hi–Tek; and Black on Both Sides (1999), his solo
debut –– continued to be revered, all the more so as time marched forward. Mos Def often used his
renown for political purposes, protesting in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the Jena Six
incident in 2007, for instance." (About Mos Def, MTV Artist).
Even though he had enormous success with Black on Both Sides, he returned to his acting career
from 2000–04. During this time period he appeared in several movies such as Bamboozled (2000),
Carmen: A Hip Hopera (2001), Monster's Ball (2001), Showtime (2002) and The Italian Job (2003).

In 2008, Kanye West released his album 808 & Heartbreak, which included the song "Heartless".
The song is a story about a woman who has left West after a mistake, and is left him distraught over
their relationship. The song evokes a tone of loneliness, coming as a result of his heartbreak. In the
song "Heartless", Kanye West uses metaphors and hyperboles to describe the agony of love and the
heartbreak and loneliness that can result from it.
The speaker is a lonely and distressed character going through a heartbreak. He is upset with the
woman who has left him after "all the things that we been through". The song ets a cold mood
bashing the woman who's causing the agony, but West reveals an internal resolution to his feelings

Kanye West 808's And Heartbreak Interpretation
Kanye West's "808's and Heartbreak" (2008) was a very significant album in the hip–hop industry
for many different reasons. The title of the album itself is significant because it is actually named for
a type of automatic drumming machine that is commonly used throughout the hip–hop industry
today. It was created for rock bands that didn't have a drummer for monetary or other reasons, and it
was just easier than having a drummer, but was very unpopular at first because of its fake sound. To
many, the sounds it produced just wasn't the same in comparison to actual drum sets, which caused
it to fall off the scene. Kanye West, however, uses the machine to create distorted, unique sounds
instead of trying to get the sound of an authentic drum as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It actually discusses many of the same things as "Paranoid" (another song on the album) does, and
again shows Kanye as frustrated with his ex. Specifically, Kanye discusses how his ex, Alexis
Phifer, tried to control his life by making him her "robot." He also talks about how she tried to dig
up things from his past and how this led to the end of their relationship. Examples of lyrics that
display this include "Up late night like she on patrol, Checking everything like I'm on parole, I told
her there's some things she don't need to know, She never let it go, oh." This track again features the
808 drum machine in the background along with string instruments and other electronically
produced sounds. The most interesting section of this song occurs from the three–minute mark of
the song until the end. In this section Kanye strips the autotune, 808, and other electronically
produced sounds found throughout the rest of the album. Kanye continues to sing, but his voice has
a much more natural sound to it and he is only accompanied by string instruments. It's an interesting
twist from the rest of, not just this song, but the rest of 808s & Heartbreak

"Good ass Intro" is an up–beat testament to Chance changing both as an artist and as a person. The
four minutes that follow work by on skittering rhymes and slippery wordplay, "ending with a line
proclaiming this to already be your favorite album." He speaks on his life since the release of "10
Day" and vows to be "better than the last time." The track really sets the tone for what is to come.
The most lyrically rich track comes next as a two part analysis of the cities violence. After a few
minutes of boasting of getting women, becoming famous, and selling only the finest of ganja, and
after a silent 20 second break, Chance lyrically pours all his feelings on the violence and paranoia he
has had to witness and endure. Though while he's rolling with a gun on his hip, a blunt on his lip,
he's not mirroring the violence, but admitting to the accompanying fear and hoping for change.
Something that a lot of Chicago rappers could take note of. He wants to be "Captain save the hood"

Yeezus Kanye Analysis
Intro
Yeezus is probably best summed up by the first sound you hear after turning it on. A deafening
distorted synth assaults your ears while Kanye reminds us that he's number one. This overwhelming
introduction was specifically chosen by Kanye for the purpose of conveying the themes of anger
and frustration that will appear throughout the album. It's marked by songs where Kanye declares
himself a God and moments of the most extreme egoism in modern music.
Ye is...shockingly different. It begins with a quiet passage of what I think is manipulated vocals
creating a simple, relaxed melody. Kanye starts rapping about something we've never really heard
him discuss before: his internal monologue. It sounds calm, like a warm summer morning. Kanye
isn't yelling, he's not telling us how much of a legend he is. Instead he's painting a picture of his
struggle with mental illness. So how the hell are these two albums related? Despite the massive
chasm between them in production, lyricism and presentation...I see them as two sides of the same
coin and together they create a beautiful narrative about who Kanye is as a person. Let's learn more.

What Does Runaway Kanye West Mean
"Runaway Kanye West"
A year before this song was released Kanye West had his famous moment when he interrupted

by many. The following year he performed this song "Runaway" at the next VMA's. I believe it was
an apology to women he had hurt and disrespected, Taylor being one of them, and showed how
lonely and vulnerable Kanye is. I think it impacted the way people view Kanye, and affected a
culture of men as he describes as "douchbags", and "scum–bags" and how men in society need to

The Negative Effects Of Downloading Music From The Music...
While few people may argue that downloading music from the internet should not be illegal, many
others realize that it is clearly an act of theft to steal the work of others. The amount of the music
being illegally downloaded has risen tremendously over the years causing music industries
worldwide to cripple and disappear. As many may say that downloading music illegally is not
harmful in any way, they are imperceptive to the fact that it is causing a large amount of decreasing
revenue. As Marielena Reyes states "The immediate effects from online piracy can be the sales drop
from CD labels and signings with artists, which could then lead to the large sums of money music
industries claim to have lost. Downloading music does not have any negative effects to music
industry finances, artists credibility, and earrings." Reyes claims music industries will gain money
off of online piracy due to the fact that sales of CD labels and signings with artist will drop but later
on this will only cause the music industries to lose billions since that is what they depend on.
"Potential know loses to all American Industry could amount to as much as $63 billion, with the
current losses occurring at a rate of $2 billion a month. The high–tech industry has an average loss
per incident reported of $19 million... continues to increase," said Neil J. Gallagher, proving the fact
that music corporations are losing money "due to piracy of software, music and interactive digital
software on the internet." The less money they are receiving from sales, result in having little to no
money for their own incorporation, no money for employees, and no money to sign contracts with
artists, leading them to the collapse of the company. By being able to download music online with
no coast, the general public worldwide will be able to afford music, as Jessica Martinez said
"Individuals have the right to make decisions when it comes to doing the correct action but if one

illogical ramblings over the past month, which currently range from West espousing on "dragon
energy" to claiming that African–Americans in the 1800's chose to be enslaved. It's safe to say these
accounts do not dissuade the infamous image that West's constructed since his musical debut in the
early 2000's, though for many, his statements as of late have damaged their view of the artist beyond
repair.
While Kanye is certainly no stranger to criticism, the newest wave of public disapproval feels
different. Media outlets and fans alike are hesitant to fully embrace the rapper's trademark ... Show

In light of his previous antics, many theorized that Kanye's career would be remembered more for
his troubled persona than his characteristic talents – in many ways, that fear became a reality.
Arguably, the reason my parents know Kanye West exists is not due to his creative output – I'm
positive my dad could not name a single song from "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" – but
because he's a controversial figure and married to Kim Kardashian. The image that instantly comes
to mind when West's name enters the conversation is not of the soul–sampling producer, but the
rambunctious tabloid icon. In the eyes of some fans, these ramblings – coupled with Kanye's
endorsement of President Trump – deprive the musician of any credibility and call his entire
discography into question.
After all that's happened, should Kanye West still be considered a genius? I believe the better
question to ask is, was Kanye West ever a genius in the first place?
If one were to go about answering this inquiry simply based solely on his achievements, the answer
should be an overwhelming yes. The artist's approach to music shaped an entire generation and
forever changed the way the medium is marketed, sold, and digested. Music will forever be indebted
to Kanye

T. J Cole: An Exciting Influence Of Rap Music
Music is a path of relaxation and happiness. Rap music has an interesting and exciting effect. Rap
music has an amazing talent of narrating a life story, thought or emotions to a rhythm of sound. Rap
artists create music that is not only great, but also meaningful. Yes, rap songs may contain violent
and insulting lyrics, and rap artists living violent s lives. Rap music could be considered a negative
influence on teenagers and young adults. However, unlike most rappers today J Cole isn't your
typical rapper you see on T.V.
Born Jermaine Lamar Cole on January 28, 1987 in Germany, and later moving to North Carolina.
Graduating high school. His grades were excellent earning him an academic scholarship to St.
John's University. A few years later, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There's one lyric that stands out, one that perfectly executed the meaning of Crooked Smile: "No
need to fix what God already put his paintbrush on." God made you different than anybody else, so
use the quality's god gave you. Crooked Smile is a pleasant bit of self–empowerment and officers
raids.
Cole become a leading light of the conscious rap crowd. This is only one example of a song that
pushes people to make positive changes within themselves. Rap music is misunderstood; people
criticize rap music by the rappers they see on the T.V. I believe, if people chose rap artist like J.
Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Tupac etc. and took time to listen to their lyrics, they would actually see the
positives rather than negatives in rap music. There are songs made by rap artist that are sexist and
meaningless, but there is numerous rap artist that go completely against those rap songs and
Crooked Smile is one of

What Are The Similarities Between Kanye West And Hype...

  • 1. What Are The Similarities Between Kanye West And Hype... Kanye West and Hype Williams have been accused by the film director Gaspar Noé for ripping off his fantasy movie 'Enter the Void' for the 'All of the Lights' music video. The similarities between the two videos were criticized by fans and critics in 2011, but Noé remained silent about it until now. In an interview, the film director finally addressed the controversy and has spoken about it. He revealed he was never consulted by the rapper during the making of the music video. Instead he was surprised when he saw Kanye's video and couldn't help but notice the similarities of it. He said he was totally in shock after he noticed William's name was added to the content, using his typography. "The director (Hype Williams) was someone else who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Dylan And Mos Def's Music Analysis While Bob Dylan and Mos Def's music often differs greatly, Dylan's "Hurricane" and Mos Def's "Mathematics," as shown at the end of this paper, have at least as much in common as not. Both artists continue to have impressive careers despite differing backgrounds. Mos Def was born in Brooklyn in 1973 and has had successful careers in both acting and music (Frick). His awards include Black Reel Award for best actor in The Woodsman, Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for his role in Something the Lord Made, his album The New Danger landed on the Billboard album chart at number five, and one single from the album, "Sex, Love & Money," earned him a Grammy nomination for best alternative/urban performance (Frick). Mos Def introduces himself in "Ha hah You know the deal It's just me yo" and adds his name to the song in saying "The Mighty Mos Def." These intros and naming are common in rap as well as some pop. Mos Def also wrote in metered lines, with stressed syllables that make it sound like rap. This accompanied by a simple but consistent beat help to create the overall sound. • 3. The Movie ' The Band One Direction ' Have you ever found yourself in awe at the videos of the three–year–old singing "Rudolph the Red– Nosed Reindeer"? It doesn 't help either, that the little kid is so cute and chubby you just want to pinch his or her cheeks and talk to him or her in Barney mode. Well, today with one of the biggest boy bands, their career is essentially the identical way. The band One Direction, is a combination of five talented, handsome, young men who use their favorable looks to their advantage; basically the same way the pretentious and self–gratifying parent does when they put their child 's video up on YouTube. The boys themselves; Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Zayn Malik are anything but ordinary personality wise. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One Direction even brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "over–used love songs." Although love songs are normally the topic for all artists, it's also the biggest in boy bands. One Direction started with a love song and is most likely going to end with one too. In their newest, well–liked songs, "You and I," it is all about not having a typical relationship, and no one understanding their love. The music video was pretty popular, even too many critics. The Australian production company "Oh Yea Wow" have accused One Direction and their managers of "regurgitating" a video for Clubfeet's song "Everything You Wanted." In their song "Best Song Ever," (the music video even broke the world record for most views in 24 hours) One Direction was once again accused of stealing a song. This time of The Who's track "Baba O' Riley." When I say "over–used," I honestly mean "over used." I 've also never understood why they write these songs about love, when their audience is typically twelve–year old girls; the age love shouldn 't even be considered. On their song "Midnight Memories," it was also pointed out it has the same similar structure as Def Leppard's song "Pour Some Sugar On Me." In addition, on their very first single "What Makes You Beautiful" (I bet you can 't guess what it's about!), it's all about a girl not knowing what she's worth, and how everything about her creates her uniqueness and beauty. This song was even accused of plagiarism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Def Leppard Influence On History Def Leppard Def Leppard was a music band of the 20th century, that brought heavy metal music to people all around the world. It all started when five kids came together wanting to play music. Then went on to be the most well known bands in history. Def Leppard has become one of the best bands of the 20th century. Def Leppard was a band that had five kids interested in music in many ways. For example, Phillip Kenneth became interested when he got his first guitar when he was 16. Also, Rick Allen was 11 years old when his parents got him his first drum set (Jeffery, 2011). When the band began to play at a younger age, it inspired them to play for a career. This inspired them to love playing music which lead them to their successful career. In addition, to them being inspired to play, their childhood has played a role too. ... • 5. Hip Hop Racism Since its early days Hip Hop has been in the midst of political and racial violence here in America; sometimes not good, but always real. Nocella II et al. (2017) article stated that: Hip Hop was founded as a response to faulty urban policy, poverty, and social rejection. The culture is founded upon the principles of community and resistance to the status quo. The theme of anti–colonial and anti–racist practices connects Hip Hop culture/activism to the work of food justice and environmental justice scholars/activists. (p. 179) So, on many artists have come to use their platform to not only be a voice used to illustrate the stories of blacks in America but an avenue for change. From N.W.A's "F the Police" to J. Cole's "Be Free", Hip Hop has historically been aware of the racial tensions in America. However, there are still those who argue that Hip Hop just glamorizes gang violence and ghetto–life. Nevertheless, there are plenty of rappers who are "socially conscious" and have remained true to the heart of Hip Hop. "Socially conscious" or "woke" rappers have always been around, it is just that their music is considered to be underground because they are not mainstream artists. Rose (2008) explains that "Generally speaking, "socially conscious" artists, no matter how brilliant their rhymes or how funky their beats, have been kept on the margins of commercial radio and industry promotional agendas" (p. 243). This makes it extremely difficult to be an underground rapper because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. An Analysis Of Kanye West's Music Fans of Kanye West's music will be in for a treat because the rap artist plans to do three albums a year. According to BoomBox, March 13, 2016, Kanye tweeted that he is dropping his fashion career and focusing on music. "No more fashion calendar... I'm going Mad Max... 6 collections a year... 3 albums a year." Kanye West has one album, "The Life of Pablo" already completed, which is his eighth album, and he released it last month during the debut of his Yeezy 3 fashion line . He allegedly has another album in the works called, "Turbo Grafx 16" which he plans to release this summer. Kanye is still working on the final mixes for this album. It is possible that he can do a third album and have it out before 2016 ends. Kanye West will not sell his music on CDs and the only way to listen to his entire album is through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another problem with Kanye is his Twitter rants when he attacks people who do not agree with him, or love his music or fashion. Last month, after his Yeezy 3 fashion show, Kanye attacked Taylor Swift, Amber Rose, and Beck at the 1Oak nightclub. He had a meltdown backstage of Saturday Night Live because someone changed his set without asking or informing him of the changes. And he also went after Bob Ezrin for criticizing his new album "The Life of Pablo." Bob who has produced and worked on Pink Floyd's The Wall, KISS's Destroyer, and Lou Reed's Berlin gave a review of Kanye's music and it was not all praise. "Unlike other creators in his genre like Jay–Z, Tupac, Biggie or even M.C. Hammer for that matter, it's unlikely that we'll be quoting too many of Kanye's songs 20 years from now. • 7. The Essence Of Kanye West The essence of Kanye West is a contradiction; he embodies two opposite sides of the hip hop spectrum: the conscious and the ignorant. One side of the spectrum embodies the ideals of brotherhood, collective being, and addresses the social and political aspects affecting the people of society as Kanye explained formerly as "spoken word." The other side demands the artist to live through the art of self–gratification by any means necessary or as Kanye put it, being able to "buy 80 gold chains and go ig'nant." Some may argue that the art of compromise in the commercialization of rap music has been compromised by self–proclaimed fashion mogul, and egotistical rap artist, Kanye West. He 's one of the most virtuous and artistically driven rappers in the game, with goals much bigger just dropping albums. In 2004, College Dropout was the album that brought the combative soul producer from Chicago into the hip hop conversation. It sold 2.6 million copies and won a Grammy for Best Rap Album. On Ye's classic, he addressed his personal struggles of insecurity, conforming to social norms, spirituality, materialism, consumerism, family and personal relationships, near–death experiences, and his rags to riches story. This time of The Who's track "Baba O' Riley." When I say "over–used," I really mean "over used." I 've also never understood why they write these songs about love, when their audience is typically twelve–year old girls; the age love shouldn 't even be considered. Upon first reading the article, I could see the similarities between Michael Jackson and Kanye West, as both were black artists who were able to break through into the mainstream music industry despite institutional limitations. However, I initially believed that their relation to Shakespeare was quite a stretch, but after reading further realized that Shakespeare had many similar hurdles to overcome as Jackson and West, just perhaps in different forms. • 14. Rap Music : The Most Influence Of Rap Music "Politically Incorrect " is a term that describes language, ideas, policies, or behaviors that bring offense to groups of people based on gender, race, culture, age, religion, physical or mental capability, etc. People could argue that rap music fits into this category or others that it should be respected as a form of art. In an article written by Lawrence Downes called "A Word Gone Wrong" he writes, "In cases of discrimination, it's probably best to let those affected speak for themselves." When artist write music the things that speak of range from racism, police brutality and struggles they may encounter. Only they can speak for themselves. Rap music is an urban genre that grew from the hip–hop movement which started in the 1970s. It mashes up instrumental tracks created by a DJ with rhyming lyrics of an MC also known as a rapper. Rappers express their ideas of feelings on politics, sexual exploits, conditions of daily life and their characters. Many critics consider rap the greatest example of postmodern music because it adapts so well the fast and constant self– promotor that is television. Unlike television, however, rap gives African–Americans a voice to speak freely for political dispute. For rap music to be seen as frightening to some listeners adds to its political insult. In a comedy stand up starring Chris Rock he goes on to say, "You have to defend rap music. Because people always say, 'That's not music, that's not art, that's garbage! How can you listen to that garbage? How can you listen to that trash?' And in the old days, it was easy to depend rap music. It was easy to defend it on an intellectual level. You could break it down, intellectually, why Grandmaster Flash, Run–D.M.C. and Whodini was art in music" (Chris). When listeners hear the works of these well respected artists they should be aware of the ethnocentric and where they came from. Rap has made as many fans as enemies, blamed for concerts, riots and accused of glorifying crime and sexism. For example, Kanye West's release of the song "Famous" sparked controversy. • 17. Negative Effects Of Music Downloading While some may argue that downloading music illegally increases an artist's popularity by exposure, doing so greatly harms the artist and the dedication they put into producing their music. Supporters of free music downloading claim that online sites only increase the popularity of an artist's music by giving them more exposure to a bigger audience. John Dino, a supporter of free music downloading states in his speech, "sites, such as Napster are helping artists' music to be spread around worldwide, while simultaneously granting listeners a simple way to access music" (Theft in Music). These free online sites give listeners a way to test an artist's music to see if they are truly interested in buying. By doing so, it saves the listeners from buying music they could potentially not like, and it saves the artist from gaining false music purchases that listeners could actually not be listening to. This process can limit an artist's fans to only listeners that are interested in the artist's music and fans that generally want to support and endorse the artist by buying their merchandise or going to their concerts. In turn, the artist's sales should profit as more people are listening to the artist's music and buying their products which allows them to become more known worldwide as they are getting more easily recognized on a global scale. Regardless, even if listeners find that they are not interested in the artist's music and therefore do not purchase their music, the music industry can still benefit from the wide–access other artists receive. According to a speech done by Ariana Torres, she summarizes that the music industry still makes money despite loss from free music downloading that the industry can then turn into more contracts ("Downloading Music"). The music industry is highly flexible mainly because they focus solely on popular artists, or emerging artists that could potentially make a hit and gain the industry profit from their sales. Either way, the industry still makes money because of the people listening to different artists' music. The chance of a listener listening to only one artist is highly unlikely, so that means the listener has to be listening to two or more artists' music. This means that ... The first achievement that I liked was they were on the "Bill Board 200 with their song "Hysteria", sold 10,000 in the first week of it being out, and also with the song Hysteria spent six weeks at number one and 133 weeks on the Bill Board 200."(Caulfield 57) There next achievement was that there was a big accident and there main drummer lost his arm. So he was back to playing the drums. That's when they made the big hit "Hysteria in 1983 whit there album "Pyromania" after the car accident." (Tamenbaum 16). There next big achievement was that "Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell had there amazing guitar abilities over looked." (Hammond 16–20). The next achievement I believe is very good because "Def. Leppard and Kiss are paring up to go on tour to support our troops in the U.S.A." (Fekadu) The next award that they received was "The 2008 Kerrag award also known as the "Classic Song Writer ... • 26. Black Stars : An Extension Of Slick Rick 's Original... Growing up in run–down neighborhood can have various effects on an individual. Getting involved in illegal activities, albeit easy and rewarding at the time, can lead an individual to a jeopardizing ongoing cycle. Illustrated in both Slick Rick and Black Stars "Children's Story," a young man has been led down a wrong path, where each of their lives were dominated by illegal acts. This was consuming to the individuals, and ultimately lead to tragic outcomes. Black Stars rendition of "Children's Story" was an extension of Slick Rick's original composition. Black Star expanded the track to incorporate the embezzlement often found within the music industry. Slick Rick and Black Star emphasize the fatal aftermath that often supersedes the preoccupied performance of thieving. In 1989, Slick Rick released a single that had an undeniable truth about growing up with inferior influences. The song starts out with Slick Rick narrating a story of a young boy growing up in the Bronx. In conjunction with many poverty–stricken areas, this young boy was heavily influenced by the felonious ways of others. The antagonist child encouraged the young boy to assist him in stealing money from old folks. The young boy concurred, and they succeeded. This lead the young boy to repeatedly burgle multiple persons, progressing from old folks to many others. Robbing became an addiction for the boy, and he continued until he attempted to steal from an undercover detective. The detective attempted to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Mos Def: A Poet, Lyricist, and Actor Essay Our group chose the man known by many in the hip–hop world as Mos Def. He is known for being a superb lyricist, poet, and actor. We are doing two of his works named "Hip–Hop" from off his album Black on Both Sides and a poem he wrote regards to the Barclays Center named "On center.stadium.status". He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Mos def is one of 12 siblings which included step–siblings. Mos Def and several of his siblings lived with his mother in Brooklyn. "Initially regarded as one of the most promising rappers to emerge in the late '90s, Mos Def turned to acting in subsequent years as music became a secondary concern for him. He did release new music from time to time, including albums such as The New Danger (2004), but his output was erratic and seemingly governed by whim. Mos Def nonetheless continued to draw attention, especially from critics and underground rap fans, and his classic breakthrough albums –– Black Star (1998), a collaboration with Talib Kweli and Hi–Tek; and Black on Both Sides (1999), his solo debut –– continued to be revered, all the more so as time marched forward. Mos Def often used his renown for political purposes, protesting in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the Jena Six incident in 2007, for instance." (About Mos Def, MTV Artist). Even though he had enormous success with Black on Both Sides, he returned to his acting career from 2000–04. During this time period he appeared in several movies such as Bamboozled (2000), Carmen: A Hip Hopera (2001), Monster's Ball (2001), Showtime (2002) and The Italian Job (2003). • 28. Kanye West Heartless Poem Meaning In 2008, Kanye West released his album 808 & Heartbreak, which included the song "Heartless". The song is a story about a woman who has left West after a mistake, and is left him distraught over their relationship. The song evokes a tone of loneliness, coming as a result of his heartbreak. In the song "Heartless", Kanye West uses metaphors and hyperboles to describe the agony of love and the heartbreak and loneliness that can result from it. The speaker is a lonely and distressed character going through a heartbreak. He is upset with the woman who has left him after "all the things that we been through". The song ets a cold mood bashing the woman who's causing the agony, but West reveals an internal resolution to his feelings when he says, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Kanye West 808's And Heartbreak Interpretation Kanye West's "808's and Heartbreak" (2008) was a very significant album in the hip–hop industry for many different reasons. The title of the album itself is significant because it is actually named for a type of automatic drumming machine that is commonly used throughout the hip–hop industry today. It was created for rock bands that didn't have a drummer for monetary or other reasons, and it was just easier than having a drummer, but was very unpopular at first because of its fake sound. To many, the sounds it produced just wasn't the same in comparison to actual drum sets, which caused it to fall off the scene. Kanye West, however, uses the machine to create distorted, unique sounds instead of trying to get the sound of an authentic drum as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It actually discusses many of the same things as "Paranoid" (another song on the album) does, and again shows Kanye as frustrated with his ex. Specifically, Kanye discusses how his ex, Alexis Phifer, tried to control his life by making him her "robot." He also talks about how she tried to dig up things from his past and how this led to the end of their relationship. Examples of lyrics that display this include "Up late night like she on patrol, Checking everything like I'm on parole, I told her there's some things she don't need to know, She never let it go, oh." This track again features the 808 drum machine in the background along with string instruments and other electronically produced sounds. The most interesting section of this song occurs from the three–minute mark of the song until the end. In this section Kanye strips the autotune, 808, and other electronically produced sounds found throughout the rest of the album. Kanye continues to sing, but his voice has a much more natural sound to it and he is only accompanied by string instruments. It's an interesting twist from the rest of, not just this song, but the rest of 808s & Heartbreak ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Popularity Of The College Dropout It's been almost twelve years since "The College Dropout" hit the airwaves. An album that would go on and mold so many artists of today's rap scene. Since then we have seen Chicago's beloved Kanye West, the "I miss the sweet Kanye, chop up the beats Kanye" slowly transform into the egocentric Yezus persona that we have amongst us today. Not to say that Kanye has stopped making his all– world beats and delivering Grammy worthy albums. He has just evolved. And with his evolution, a void was left in rap as we knew it. "Good ass Intro" is an up–beat testament to Chance changing both as an artist and as a person. The four minutes that follow work by on skittering rhymes and slippery wordplay, "ending with a line proclaiming this to already be your favorite album." He speaks on his life since the release of "10 Day" and vows to be "better than the last time." The track really sets the tone for what is to come. The most lyrically rich track comes next as a two part analysis of the cities violence. After a few minutes of boasting of getting women, becoming famous, and selling only the finest of ganja, and after a silent 20 second break, Chance lyrically pours all his feelings on the violence and paranoia he has had to witness and endure. Though while he's rolling with a gun on his hip, a blunt on his lip, he's not mirroring the violence, but admitting to the accompanying fear and hoping for change. Something that a lot of Chicago rappers could take note of. He wants to be "Captain save the hood" asking media members and really the white community why no one cares about the travesty that is the hood. "They murking kids, they murder kids here. Why you think they don't talk about it? They deserted us here. Where the fuck is Matt Lauer at, somebody get Katie Curic in here. Probably scared of all the refugees. • 34. Yeezus Kanye Analysis Intro Yeezus is probably best summed up by the first sound you hear after turning it on. A deafening distorted synth assaults your ears while Kanye reminds us that he's number one. This overwhelming introduction was specifically chosen by Kanye for the purpose of conveying the themes of anger and frustration that will appear throughout the album. It's marked by songs where Kanye declares himself a God and moments of the most extreme egoism in modern music. Ye is...shockingly different. It begins with a quiet passage of what I think is manipulated vocals creating a simple, relaxed melody. Kanye starts rapping about something we've never really heard him discuss before: his internal monologue. It sounds calm, like a warm summer morning. Kanye isn't yelling, he's not telling us how much of a legend he is. Instead he's painting a picture of his struggle with mental illness. So how the hell are these two albums related? After that moment he was tortured by the media and hated by many. The following year he performed this song "Runaway" at the next VMA's. I believe it was an apology to women he had hurt and disrespected, Taylor being one of them, and showed how lonely and vulnerable Kanye is. I think it impacted the way people view Kanye, and affected a culture of men as he describes as "douchbags", and "scum–bags" and how men in society need to change. • 36. The Negative Effects Of Downloading Music From The Music... While few people may argue that downloading music from the internet should not be illegal, many others realize that it is clearly an act of theft to steal the work of others. The amount of the music being illegally downloaded has risen tremendously over the years causing music industries worldwide to cripple and disappear. As many may say that downloading music illegally is not harmful in any way, they are imperceptive to the fact that it is causing a large amount of decreasing revenue. As Marielena Reyes states "The immediate effects from online piracy can be the sales drop from CD labels and signings with artists, which could then lead to the large sums of money music industries claim to have lost. Downloading music does not have any negative effects to music industry finances, artists credibility, and earrings." Reyes claims music industries will gain money off of online piracy due to the fact that sales of CD labels and signings with artist will drop but later on this will only cause the music industries to lose billions since that is what they depend on. "Potential know loses to all American Industry could amount to as much as $63 billion, with the current losses occurring at a rate of $2 billion a month. The high–tech industry has an average loss per incident reported of $19 million... continues to increase," said Neil J. Gallagher, proving the fact that music corporations are losing money "due to piracy of software, music and interactive digital software on the internet." The less money they are receiving from sales, result in having little to no money for their own incorporation, no money for employees, and no money to sign contracts with artists, leading them to the collapse of the company. By being able to download music online with no coast, the general public worldwide will be able to afford music, as Jessica Martinez said "Individuals have the right to make decisions when it comes to doing the correct action but if one person deals with tough situations such as not having enough money to buy music, free downloaders helps individuals deal with hardships by allowing them to indulge in the act of downloading free music." After all that's happened, should Kanye West still be considered a genius? I believe the better question to ask is, was Kanye West ever a genius in the first place?
