For our music video on the song ‘Mine’ by Beyoncé featuring
Drake, there will be three main characters who are shown in
the music video.
The first character will be Emily Cherry who is playing the
role of the main artist Beyoncé. Emily will be playing this role
as she fits in with the generic hip-hop/R&B look. She is slim,
pretty and has attractive features which makes her
appealing to men. As well as this, Emily has a background in
drama which helps as we plan to make our music video a
narrative so we need someone who is able to portray and
show a wide range of emotions. As well as this, Emily has a basic knowledge in dancing
so she is able to go a few abstract dance movements to go with the beginning of the
song as it starts of slow. Emily also has long hair which will flow easily in the wind as we
plan to make her look peaceful and innocent to show the artist as being full of emotions
and loveable for the audience.
Jebba Ali will be playing the role of the girlfriend in our music video. The girlfriend for
our music video is made out to look and seem vulnerable, innocent and upset. Jebba
fits in with this role as she as well has a background knowledge in drama meaning she
is able to perform this role as planned.
The character who is playing the boyfriend’s role in our music video will be Zaccius
James. The boyfriend in music video is made out to be shown as someone who likes to
party, drink and have no emotions towards his partner. However the character also has
another side to him which is loving and affectionate but is not always shown. Zaccius
fits in well with this role as he is able to perform and behave like a party animal but at
the same time is also able to show love and affection to someone. As Jebba and
Zaccius are close friends, they suit the role of the couple as they work and get along
well together meaning they are able to show the audience a strong and passionate
connection as well as a powerful realistic argument in which couples tend to have. This
is why they have been chosen to work in our music video.
