Survey Results Reveal Music Preferences of Teen Audience
1. 70% of the people who answered my survey were female and only 30% were male. So my
demographic is mainly females.
2. Everybody who answered my survey is between the ages of 16-18, this is good because my target
audience for my advert is aimed at teenagers and young adults so I would like feedback off them.
90% of my demographic listen to music every day, this shows that people who have completed my
survey enjoy listening to music, and it is something that they are interested in so they can answer
the other questions properly. Only 10% of the people who answered the survey listen to music 1-3
times a week, which still shows that they like music, but not as much as the other 90% of people
3. Half of my demographic use headphones and speakers to listen to their music and only 40% listen to
music through the TV/radio and laptop/computer. This is a good thing that I half of my responses
use speakers, as my advert is advertising speakers, so I am glad that I have an audience to show my
advert too.
4. 80% of my demographic think that what the product is, is the most important thing, where as 20% of
people only think that the price and where to buy it from is important
70% of my demographic think that the music and the product in the advert is the thing that sticks in
your head the most, whereas none of my demographic think that the editing in an advert sticks in
your mind. This will help me concentrate on certain points of the advert more than others, for
example it is important that I chose the right song for my advert as this is one of the main things that
stick in people’s minds once watched an advert.
