 I’m planning to create a music video for the
indie/rock genre. I feel this age group is a
appropriate as they are mature enough to
understand the concept of the narrative
based music video.
 This age group tend to be the most loyal and
attend concerts so I feel their support is most
effective.
 According to NME.com, a popular magazine
that publish indie content state that the most
popular gender to listen to indie rock music are
males. However I feel that my music vide will
attract more females than males as the theme is
based oThis is the reason I wanted in my music
video I want to target 56% females and
44%males as the narrative is based on romance,
it will attract more females than males although
the song relatable to both gender.
 C1 –Teenagers/young adults audience
 Social status : middle class
 Occupation: supervisory or clerical, junior
managerial, administrative or professional
 The younger generation who would watch
our music video are working part time
students.
 Our music video targets someone who is active
on social media, and very sociable.
 They are not fans of the current dance trends
and are die hard fans of the band Spanish
saharas.
 They’ve collected posters when they attend
minor concerts regularly.They play a musical
instruments (guitar, paino or drums)
 They participate sports such as table tennis and
badminton and play board games such as chess.
 Favourite film – dead pool
 FavouriteTV serious – flash/breaking bad and game of
thrones
 Favourite genre of music- indie and rock
 My target audience are aware of popular media text due
to their young but mature self and are able to follow the
trends and update themselves by conversation with
people of the same subculture.
 they are also able to be updated by social media by their
favourite shows and artist when new content is released
which is why they are able to stay up-to-date so quickly.
 I will stay connected with my target audience on social
media and my focus group to get constant feedback in
order to create a better and more suitable product.
 Fans of the indie/rock genre and especially
foals fans will enjoy my music video as there
are more than one setting used as the
location and the intense narrative will keep
them entertained till the end.With the
narrative of my music video, my target
audience are freely able to interpret the lyrics
and what the story may represent.
 Although my music video was shot in black and white, I used
different camera angles and close up shots to give the
narrative a dramatic effect.We know that most of my target
audience are able to relate to the idea of having their
heartbroken whether by a family, friend of a significant other
and we attempt to exaggerate what the effect could be to
gat the audience to empathise with the charaters in the
music video.
 The utopian theory was created by Richard Dyre expressing
the idea of an ideal world place. Many artist use this this
technique to connect with their target audience as they may
share the same feeling. I feel that my music video does the
complete opposite and is more of what could happen.
Enabling our target audience to trust us more.
