TIME FOR ACTION: MAY 2024 Securing A Strong Nursing Workforce for North Carolina
Evaluation- Question 3
1. {
Question 3: What have
you learned from your
audience feedback?
By Amie Conteh
2. In our pre- production we did research in
three main areas. We used to research
was Questionnaire/survey, interviews,
focus groups. For our questionnaires we
asked it on survey monkey which was
easier platform from us to form our
questionnaires. We recorded our
interviews and asked a few participants.
4. 1) From the trailer's two I have shown
you, which do you think is the most
effective and why?
From what the group Said They chose
Lights out on SE7EN Because of the
conventions it being followed and
how the suspense / mystery made
them feel more willing to watch the
actual movie. This suggests that, to
them, SE7EN did not quite grab Their
attention or interest as it May have
been a basic / expected semi Whereas
Lights Out built up tension
throughout. When we want this
filming and editing our trailer, so
having more "black fade" transitions
and less dialogue would match my
chosen target audience's interests.
We had asked six students (aged 15-18)
from school to be in my focus group as it
was easier and more convenient to both film
and get all of them together in a room.
The two trailer's that were shown to them
were SE7EN (crime) and Lights Out
(horror). Though They are different genres,
we wanted to get Their views to see
whichthey preferred more and the Reasons
for it, So THAT When filming our group
will be bootable to include some features of
a horror genre (zoals camera angles and low
key lighting ) and apply to our police crime
genre in order to get our trailer axle
effective and visually + acoustically pleasing
as possible.
5. 2) In a police crime thriller trailer / movie, what would you expect to see? The group
Mentioned the Conventional props and 'sense' (aka Mystery) on What they would
expect to see, so during filming and production, we will take this into consideration.
May we have to spend money to get iconic props zoals crime scene tape and plastic
guns (to make it more realistic, perhaps lightly spray metallic paint). Further More ook
They would want to see clues and wanna feel engaged with the trailer, in order to
interest them enough to watch the movie.
Character identification is ook what is expected to see, and to preventable our trailer
from being basic and typical, THEY Suggested usefull to have an antihero, All which is
what our plot in fact already includes.
3) In a movie poster, what is the Most Important feature to you and why?
They have Mentioned all features you would see in a movie poster, but to them it is the
image and title that they look out for the most. Taking this into account, we will make
sure the suit bootable image and title stands out against it, but both combined attracts
my target audience Where They remember the poster.
Text wise, they would like to know cast + crew members, and a slogan would add a
finishing touch.
6. For our group analysis, I was in charge of the interviews of different people
and ages. Our target audience was two groups which were young
adolescents. This was to see the different opinions and what was similar or
different between the teenagers approach to our questions. I asked a range of
different questions both open and closed but they were mainly open
questions.
These are the list of questions I asked:
Interview questions: (script)
Semi- structured interview
1. What appeals to you in a film magazine poster?
2. Do you prefer conflict within a gang or conflict outside the gang?
3. What is the first thing you think of when it comes to gangster?
4. What type of films do you enjoy and why?
5. Do you like the idea of a police officer killing a man?
6. Who do you feel more sympathy for if the police officer was killed or
the gang member? Why?
7. Does the name “redemption” appeal?
7. This is because we wanted to get a full picture of what
people prefer in films and what they enjoy and do not enjoy.
Many of my participants did not understand the word
'redemption'. This can be seen as either a positive or negative
thing. From the positive perspective it makes the film title a
mystery as they do not know what is going to happen and
what that word means in terms of the trailer. However, it can
be a problem as the y do not know what it means so
therefore they might not be interested in watching the film or
even the trailer. For question 6 they all felt more sympathy
for the gang member even though the gang member is
potentially a criminal. This was interesting as it shows that
they are interested in what the gang member has gone
through instead of the police officer trying to protect society.
Key Learnings:
They all had a mixture of different films that they enjoy
The perception of a gang member was a black male,
tracksuit, bicycles etc
They feel more sympathy for a gang member
