ANALYSED RESULTS
SABRIYA PHILLS
QUESTION 1
We gave out the survey to a range of 16 – 21
year olds. The majority of people that
answered our trailer was aged 17 and 16 year
old. This would be able to help us because
now we have a target audience.
QUESTION 2
29/36 people said that they prefer voice overs
compared to no voice over at all this questions
helps us because it lets us know that in a trailer
they don’t want much dialogue and prefer the
deep voice over to create tension and to not
give away too much of the story.
QUESTION 3
What hooks people to a trailer the most is sound
and the special effects. This is going to helps us
because now we know that when creating the
trailer we are going to need lots of sound to build
up tension and quick editing and effects to help go
with it.
QUESTION 4
What's the most frightening element of the killer?
The most frightening element of the killer for our viewers is the mask and weapon this
means that we have to use a mask that stands out and a weapon that is realisable.
QUESTION 5
The majority of our audience already watch slasher movies,
this means that they already know what to expect therefore
to make our trailer even better and stand out we would
have to use loads of codes and conventions and include
loads of jumps scares.
QUESTION 6
If not, what do you dislike about them? This question is very relevant when deciding what
we will and will not include in our trailers and it is
good to know this because then we wont include
it which will allow more of our target audience to
watch and enjoy it.

If yes, what makes them entertaining to watch?
This question is good just because it helps us know what people like about
horror movies and what we can use to improve what we want to do.
QUESTION 8
What do you expect to see from a slasher movie trailer?
People are expecting things such as chase scenes, gore and death. To help make these things
more suspenseful we will be using non diegetic music to build up tention.
QUESTION 9
What is your favourite slasher movie? What is it that made it so thrilling?
This question allows us to go and look at the trailers for these films and pick out the codes and
conventions that they used, to make sure that we use them in order to attract our target audience.
QUESTION 10
This question is very important because it is where
most of our shooting will take place. The top two
choices for locations was the forest and at a party
and this gives us an idea of what type of location
to use for the main part of our trailer.
