An ordinance was presented to cancel the May 7, 2016 general election and declare three unopposed candidates elected to office based on the certification of the City Secretary that each candidate was unopposed and no other propositions or write-in candidates existed. The City would save $3,000-$5,000 in election expenses by canceling the general election.
