The end of the Big Day Out is the end of one-day festivals
This website talks about the cancellation of Big Day Out and one-
day festivals as a whole. Big Day Out was one of Australia’s most
popular one-day music festivals, but the drop in ticket sales
caused the cancellation of this event. This site is useful to me as I
learn why the event was cancelled, and therefore the economic
impacts this cancellation brought upon the host communities.

The Economics of Music Festivals
This site written by Kelsey Clark
focuses on the economics of music
festivals and when they became
more about the money than the
music. She believes that although a
‘profound financial effect on the
local economy’, attendees no longer
get what they did back in the day,
despite paying approximately 2x the
amount.
