2. BACKGROUND
Consideration of a resolution with the Texas
Department of Transportation (TxDOT)
City formally requesting Broadway Street from
Austin Highway to Burr Road become city owned
Action required as part of funding provided by
TxDOT and MPO

3. BACKGROUND CONTINUED
 Upon project completion, COAH assumes full ownership
and maintenance of Broadway
 TxDOT maintains ownership and maintenance of Austin
Highway from Broadway to N. New Braunfels Ave.
 Process takes 6 to 12 months for approval by Texas
Transportation Commission Board
 Second part - execution of Advanced Funding
agreement - still forthcoming

4. POLICY ANALYSIS
 Required action for the project to move forward
 Consistent with prior discussions between the City
and TxDOT
 Consistent with other binding agreements and in
accordance with State Law - Section 273.004 of
the Texas Local Government Code

7. FISCAL IMPACT
 There is no fiscal impact for the transfer of the
roadway to the city.
Transfer is finalized after successful project
completion.
