Types of symmetry
1. SYMMETRY
Today we are going to learn
about symmetry.
There are many types of it, but
we will take an interest in:
reflection symmetry, and
point symmetry
4. Reflection Symmetry
- the simplest kind of
symmetry, sometimes called
Line Symmetry or Mirror
Symmetry. It is easy to see,
because one half is the
reflection of the other half.
15. We can say
• If a shape can be folded in half so
that one half fits exactly on top of
the other, then we say that the shape
has got line symmetry.
The fold is called a line of symmetry.
16. POINT SYMMETRY
Point Symmetry is when every
part has a matching part:
the same distance from the
central point
but in the opposite direction.
