2. What the audience expected~
It was very important that we were able to attract our target audience
and they were appealed to what we produced. We created a
questionnaire in order to identify what the audience wanted to see, it
also gave us key information on what they were fond of. The
questionnaire gave us the ability and the knowledge to understand,
what we needed to include in our ancillary task and main production.
An example, would be never to include colours that didn’t reflect the
genre in this case, dark and grey colours would be completely
incorrect for our music video. As it had no moral connection with the
indie pop genre. It also gave us an expectation to live up to, as we had
an large amount of information on what was expected in the music
video .
3. The star image across the board~
The star of our ‘Skinny Genes’ music video and ancillary task was Nyla.
We created a star image by promoting her across all platforms and
media boards, with our main task we used close up shots to build on star
image. But, with the ancillary task we used a range of things to promote
her star image for example.

We built a Nyla fan base and produced a artist that had a large career base,
which is why I created a store to sell Nyla merchandise giving out artist a
realist effect and building on the image of our artist. On the website there
was also an ‘About’ page which allowed us to distribute information about
Nyla to our audience, which also builds upon her star image.
4. How your work fits into the context of other similar products ?
Through the production process and all of my tasks & activities, I’ve
always done a large amount of research in order to build my
knowledge and give myself a guide. For example, when beginning my
website I created three blog post on website research, this was done to
improve my knowledge and give myself ideas. Also with my digipak
research I used mainstream digipaks for a moral compass to follow
when developing my very own version.

5. How your work fits into the context of other similar products ?
When analysing the work I’ve produce, I noticed I gave the all the
products a similar style that was used across all tasks. For instance,
the digipak, website and main product all have the title Nyla in capital
letters, they also correspond on a similar levels and platform. The
website is a great example of how, the digipak and music video can all
be distributed all on the same platform. The website makes the
combination of the various platforms possible.
6. How the audience will access these products
Technology has influenced the ways we access music, over the years
the number of hard disc sold has fallen dramatically and the amount
of online sales have increase. Our music video will be available on
YouTube, as it’s a very covenant online platform that anyone can
access. Artist have become fond of making deals, with major music
outlets such as Apple music, Tidal music and ITunes; to release
their music exclusively to certain music outlets. However, I believe a
YouTube release would be the most suitable way for our audience,
to access our music video. The indie pop isn’t about making large
sums of money, the target audience isn’t usually very wealthy but,
moderately comfortable with their disposable income. Which is why
I believe a free access to our music video is relevant.
