2. Having a target audience is vital when making a music video, in
my opinion. The target audience my music video is aimed at
would be mainly teenage boys, although the general attitude of
the actors in the song will strongly relate to all teenagers. This is
mainly due to the 'I can't be bovered' attitude with the duo in the
video messing around, being rude to their parents, and not giving
a care about the world. I feel it is useful to distinguish a target
audience as being able to be specific to a target audience will
make the song more meaningful to that audience and although it
is aimed specific all at teenagers, adults will be able to understand
from their memories of adulthood.
3. Throughout the entirety of our music video, we have made fast
transition cuts from each shot. Being a teenager in modern
society, I have acknowledged that the attention span of teenagers
is appearing to become shorter and shorter. So, in order to keep
our target audience interested, the need for fast shots was vital.
This fast-paced transition along with a variety of locations split
up will ensure that our audience is always focused on the screen
and will not miss a thing. A second aspect that teenagers
would relate to would be the locations we shot in. The locations
shot are where a teenager would hang out throughout most of
their lives. Whether it be their bed, their sofa, or even walking
down streets.
4. Our main aim was to try and make our music
video very humorous to watch. Some examples
of this would be the two actors in the bath
tub, with the third actor on the toilet, as well as
the three actors in the same bed together. This
will make the video enjoyable to watch for
teenagers and adults, therefore enforcing
a larger audience.
5. As myself and Barney are both teenagers and are
big fans of Rizzle Kicks, we thought it would
only be right if we portrayed the two artists in
our music video as we knew exactly how to
portray them. This again being a reason a target
audience.
6. Finally, the lyrics used can be
quite crude yet entertaining. They involve some swear
words, mention playing video games, going to the gym,
drinking wine and "getting texts from my ex wanting
sex". It is obvious to recognise that this is relatable to
teenagers growing up and also a lifestyle some adults
may have. This may be a factor in making the song more
meaningful and poignant to both our target audience
and also older members of society.
