operations (e.g. compressors, boilers)
– Contingencies will focus on industrial
spill response and confined space rescue
– Equipment recovery drills for loss of utility
equipment will be performed

 Internal Drills and Exercises to Confirm Proficiency in
the Yard
 Normal Operations Evolutions:
• Utility Operations (Compressors, Electrical, Fire Water, Boilers)
• Equipment Rotations
• Rounds and Readings, and response to abnormal indications
• Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance (allows maintenance to
practice expected maintenance evolutions)
• Routine shift practices (shift turnover, log keeping)
 Contingency Evolutions:
• HAZMAT response, including confined space rescue
• Loss of Plant Air Recovery
• Loss of Instrument Air Recovery
• Loss of Power Recovery

 Emergency Response Team
(ERT) standup underway
• Received final trucks/trailers and
ambulance from TOCDF and UMCDF
• ERT courses kick off April 2014
• Project all four crews to have ERT
stood up by Aug 2014
 Draft drill packages have been
developed for all normal
operations and contingencies
• All packages will be provided to ORR

 Toxic Area Training (TAT) kicked off – Operations & Maintenance
(O&M) training in progress
• Operations Support Backups Priority for classes
• Maintenance and Operations to follow April 2014 – April 2015
 Training Facility Projectile Mortar Disassembly and Munitions
Washout System installation nearing completion
• Provides Maintenance hands-on ability to practice preventive maintenance
and corrective maintenance (such as a Cavity Access Machine replacement)
• Maintenance training scheduled for summer 2014
 Training Facility Simulator Courses for Control Room Operators
kicks off April 2014
• Started in April – all four Control Room crews in progress to complete in
2015
 Final hiring wave in progress for O&M staff
• March-July 2014 brings on remaining plant personnel
