1. Our filming day was very successful - we
managed to get all the footage and images that
we needed. We first began filming in Castlefield
so get our YouTube shots. We had originally
planned to film in the bedroom, but we decided
that it wasn’t suitable since there wasn’t a good
background to sit in front of, so we decided to
film in the main room. Jerome set up the lights
so that mine and Holly’s faces were will lit and
looked professional. Our script was very
important for this stage of the filming because
this was the scene where most of our dialogue
would be. However we decided to film it like a
continuous shot/video that would be on
youtube, so that we could choose which parts
to use for the final trailer (rather than only
filming the specific lines that were on the
script). It took a while to film because it was
hard to get in the zone to act, but we got there
eventually.
2. Holly drove us all to the woods and as soon as we got there, I started setting up the
tent, Jerome setup the camera and Holly did Sarah’s make-up.
The animatic, storyboard and shot list were very important for this stage in our
filming as it was hard to remember all the shots we had planned and when they
would appear in the trailer. However we didn’t have the animatic to hand so we
had to work around it and try and remember as well as we could. We also
filmed extra shots just incase we didn’t have enough footage.
3. All in all, our filming day was very successful. Despite
the fact it was very cold and we didn’t have the
storyboard and animatic with us, we got all the shots we
needed and finished in good time.
I have gained better lighting skills from learning how to
use each light and what effect they have when filming. I
also got the opportunity to try filming in different ways,
not just from a tripod. We filmed with a hand held
tripod and used it in a variety of ways, we filmed by just
holding the camera in hand and we also filmed with the
camera on a normal tripod.
