3. Empire...
● British Film magazine
● First published in 1989

● Front covers normally feature a main characters from an
action adventure film because it will attract their target
audience.
4. Fangoria...
● An American internationally distributed horror film
magazine.
● First published in 1979.
● Different to other film magazines because it only
features horror films and other subgenres of horror.
● Niche target audience - horror film enthusiasts - typical
middle aged males.
5. Total Film...
● A British film magazine published monthly and an extra summer edition every
year.
● Launched in 1997 - available in print and interactive ipad editions.
● Front cover features action films the most.
6. Which magazine will our film feature on?
● From researching these three film magazines, i think that
Fangoria would be best for our film.
● This is because it is specifically for horror films, so the target
audience parallels our film’s target audience, meaning that it
will effectively promote our film.
● The magazine has been becoming less popular recently,
however if they feature our film hopefully this would make them
popular again.
8. Front cover analysis...
Fangoria’s magazine covers all follow the same layout:
● Large red masthead at the top
● Movie reel edit on the left hand side for all of the cover lines.
● Main image - close up of the antagonist.
● Main cover line at the bottom of the main image.
