• Peoples opinions of representation of disability
in TV and Film.
3. Layout
• Interview 4 or 5 people
• Different ages and backgrounds
• Have them holding a card with a question on
• Then look at camera and have them answer question.
• Have first person read question then answer
• Others answers to the same question shown
• Then same first person reads second question
• Others answers to follow
• Etc.
• (To include their pauses to think and hesitation to represent
true opinion, i.e. struggling to think of examples.)
4. Questions to ask:
• What access to TV channels do you have?
• How many hours a week do you spend watching TV?
• Can you recall any TV shows featuring characters with reduced
mobility or learning difficulties?
• Were these characters played by actors with real disabilities?
• Have you seen at least one episode of the Channel 4 show The
Undateables?
• What are your thoughts on the show?
• Do you think those with physical disabilities and learning difficulties
should have equal opportunity to able bodied and able minded
people when it comes to landing roles in TV or Film?
• What are your general thoughts on the representation of disability in
the media?
