2. What my audience looks like
Young adults and teenagers that are
interested in nature and cottage core
aesthetic.
3. Primary research.
For my primary research I plan on taking a survey with people my age since that is my target audience. I think it would
work best if I ask at least 6 people so that I can have some varied answers. This will help to analyse them and gather
more information. Here are the questions I will be asking:
1.What kind of magazine/fanzine covers do you prefer?
2.What are your thoughts on including interactive elements(folding out pages, things you can turn)?
3.Do you prefer information be shown in a more visual way or as articles.
4.Do you prefer online book or physical copies?
I picked these questions because I feel like this will help me get a clearer view of what I want to do and how to get a
better end product .I plan on also analysing the result and seeing how I can apply them to the design of my fanzine.

5. Analysis
from this interview I have observed a few things.
My audience likes covers that have a good colour scheme and look visually pleasing. This means that
my audience like to take into account the cover of a fanzine before picking it up. I can make sure my
product appeals to my audience by making sure the cover reflect the aesthetic of the fanzine, i could
even add some extra element to the front like a pen holder?
Another piece of information I gathered was that most of my audience like the idea of having
interactive pieces. This tells me that my audience likes to discover new things. I plan on using this
information to target my audience, so I will include interactive pieces such as things that you can turn
and open. I also learned that more people preferred a physical copy which means the interactive
element would work even better
6. Secondary Audience research
From my research there are quite a few instagram accounts such as Florazine, Freshfrootzine and Changezine
that post on social media about their fanzines. Theses accounts have quite a big following (Florazine has 824
followers at the time of writing this) which is proof that people around my age are still interested in fanzines.
One thing that I have noticed through these accounts is that they have visually pleasing posts, and the response
from their audience is positive meaning they enjoy it. The page get a lot of recognition through its posts so it
makes sense that they should be eye catching. I can use this information to make sure that my fanzine is also
visually pleasing towards my audience and follows a style.
7. Subject Research- fungi
For my additional research I want to find out some information on fungi and herbs. This is because this will be in if the
main topics in my fanzine and so researching on it now will help me to create content later on.

Use this space to record any secondary audience research you might do. This is finding out about the audience for existing products.
Observation, what it say about audience, how i can use this to make fanzine appealing.
If you do any additional subject research, record that here. This might be most relevant if you are producing a magazine or a documentary but even a fiction trailer might require some additional research in to a particular subject.
Getting some background information on your subject would be a really good idea.
Find some resources, log them, read them and write something about them.
