2. What I'm making- ideas
I'm going to be creating a set/props that are related to the ledged of Zelda universe.
I could make some props that would be use in a short stop motion animation of breath of the wild.
If I make a miniature set design, I'm planning on designing it based of a character from the games. It may be better
to make it based of a character from breath of the wild such as Beedle or Kilton since this is new game more
people are familiar with. Both characters are salesman that travel around in the game, I think it would be
interesting to design what their own shop would look like.
I could also recreate some of the scenes/locations from the game such as the stables, temples and villages.
Another option is to make life size props from the game. This could include items (weapons, shields, materials and
food). These could be use as both decoration and for cosplays. If I were to make this instead of the set design, it
may be easier since I will be making less things. However, it may also be harder since the product will be bigger.
Storing it may also be a problem
3. What I'm making
I'm am going to be making props that would be used in a short stop motion animation. The animation
will be based of the game the legend of Zelda: breath of the wild. the animation will tell a story mostly
through visual's rather then actions, meaning the story itself will be something simple and recognizable
to the audience. Here are some options for what story I could tell:
1. Collecting Korok seeds
2. Fighting a Guardians or Bokoblins
3. Korok forest (the master sword)
Out of these three options I think collecting Korok seeds will be the best choice. In the game you can
come across puzzles, when you solves these quick puzzles you find a Korok that gives you a Korok seed
as a reward for finding them.
It is something that everyone that plays the game is familiar with and can be told with little writing or
dialogue.
4. What props I will need to make
the puzzle that I have chosen from the game is one where you need to
put apples in front of statues that don’t already have one. After
completing this a Korok will appear and give you a Korok seed
Props:
1. Statues
2. Offering trays
3. Apples
4. Korok
To make these prop the main things I will need are clay and paint. To
give structure to my props and shape them I can use foil and wire.
From my research I will be using air dry clay by DAS. I will also need
something to set/seal the clay once painted to protect it from chipping.
5. Materials/resources
I will need a variety of different types of materials to create the props for my product. During my experiment It helped me
to use to use resources such as tutorials on the internet to find different ways of making props. This gave me more options
when it came to what materials I had to use. I because I will be making my product mostly by hand I will most likely be using
materials such as paint and clay.
Finance/ sourced content
I will need to buy some materials that I need to create props. When buying the materials for my experiment I found
everything I needed online through amazon. I plan on doing this again for this project. I will try and find product that are
within my budget and that can be delivered in tie for when I need them. To make sure I have everything need I will need to
outline everything and I'm making and what I need to make them.
Location
To take pictures of my product I will use a studio. This will work well because I want the product to be the main focus and to
capture the details. I will be making m product indoors either at home or in college.
Time
will create a check list with deadlines to make sure I get everything done on time. When I did made a faux cake for my
experiment, it took me around three days to complete. Knowing this I predict it will take me around a week to complete my
final product. And 2 days to photograph and edit the photos.
