1. Final Film Idea
Title:
‘Breakthrough’.
I chose this titlebecause it links to the storyline,
in the fact that one of the characters is trying to
crack a scientific theory.
Short Synopsis:
The storyline to my film follows three characters that don’t know each other.
One of the characters (Charlie) is trying to crack his scientific theory and the
actions of the other spark ideas for how he can solve it. For each character, it
will show the physical appearance, personality and daily life with the addition
of the link between the characters; however this will not be apparent until the
end.
Target audience:
NRS Scale: ‘D/E’ because these are the people
that are eat the lowest of the scale and would
be children/teenagers that don’t have a job or
get minimum wage, so may relate to the
characters more.
4C’s model: ‘The Mainstream’ because this is
the majority of people and they also need
routine and security in their lives and my film
shows the daily lives of the characters.
Character Profile 1:
‘Mia’, 16 years old, female.
She wears all black, all the time and will be wearing the same clothes
throughout the film. She wears black jeans,a black top, black boots, a long
black coat and she may also wear a black beanie hat.
She is a very private person and was always the outcast as school so
decided to quit after her GCSE’s. She also has OCD because she is always
washing her hands and feels that she only needs one thing of everything
on her life. She also likes to watch the world go by in various places
because she feels better of when she’s alone.
Her role in the film is that one of her actions sparks an idea for another
character which then helps them solve a scientific theory.
I think that the audience will relate to her because I think that everyone at
some point in their lives wants to take a break from work or school and
wants to relax. Also I think that she is an interesting character that the
audience would find intriguing to watch.
Character Profile 2:
‘Luke’, 19 years old, male.
He wears up-to-date clothes that are also a
bit unique and retro. Normally wears jeans, a
jacket; however he may have two or three
outfits to show different days.
Luke is a very outgoing person, and a little bit
arrogant, who was always the popular guy at
school; however he now likes to just spend
time with his close friends playing football
and the occasional poker night. He’s not the
brightest of people however he is very
talented with a guitar and is now teaching
himself how to record his own music.
His role in the film is that one of his actions
helps another character solve a scientific
theory.
I think that the audience will relate to him
because I think that some people are
‘popular’ themselves and maybe relate to
having lots of friends, or some people that
don’t particularly have many friends but are
still happy with the ones closer to them.
Character Profile 3:
‘Charlie’, 17 years old, female.
She wears comfortable casual clothes and doesn’t particularly want to be
on trend with clothes. She normally wears jeans, a t-shirt and trainers and
a coat when it’s raining.
Charlie is a very smart girl who got 9 A*s in her GCSE’s and is currently at
college taking chemistry, biology, physics and maths. She doesn’t have
many friends because she is also a very private person who doesn’t take
risks outside of her comfort zone.
Her rolein the filmis the character that is solving the scientific theory that
she has been working on for a year, and other characters help her to come
up with ideas.
I think that the audience will relate to her because everyone has a passion
in their life that they concentrate on a bit and I think that this character
can show the audience that we can help each other even for the smallest
thing.
