Students were to read a comprehension text titled "Rain on Trial" about the environment. The lesson objectives were for students to answer comprehension questions correctly and identify important points from the text. To be successful, students needed to answer 3 of 6 comprehension questions correctly and write 5 of the 10 summary points accurately. The teacher introduced the previous lesson's topic and explained the comprehension text. Students then answered questions individually before discussing in groups the key points and writing a summary. Cooperative learning strategies were used with the workbook as the teaching material.
