This document contains a lesson plan for a Grade 2 geometry class on flat shapes. The plan includes introducing new vocabulary about polygon parts, having students cut out shapes and order them by size and number of corners, and doing an artwork activity where they create pictures using the shapes. The teacher found the lesson went well overall but some activities took longer than expected due to having only one hour, and students preferred to work individually rather than in pairs. Audio, video, and picture files are included to support the different activities.

3. Lesson Plan
I have prepared a lesson plan for students in Grade 2. This lesson plan has been
implemented in Geometry (Maths).
The lesson is called Flat Shapes and it is introductory unit to start to study the
polygons.
The initial idea was that students would learn new vocabulary related to the different
parts of the polygons.

4. Reflections
This lesson plan has been been very useful as it was a great way to structure the
lesson, fisrtly in my head and then written in paper.
The lesson worked pretty well but I found some difficulties in doing all the activities as
I just had one hour lesson.
Activity one (Cut the shapes) was done in a previous lesson, as I thought at the last
moment that students would take many time of the class just cutting. I took profit to
recycle grammar structures such as What’s your favourite color?My favourite color
is.. How many red/yellow.. shapes have you got? I have...red/yellow shapes.
They also had some difficulties working in pairs. They preferred to work individually
and I had to insist on it.
Finally, I think students really enjoyed the lesson and especially the last activity
(Artwork).
