Adolescent pregnancy is a global issue that disproportionately affects poorer and marginalized communities. Teen parents tend to have children with poorer health and educational outcomes, who are then more likely to become teen parents themselves, perpetuating the cycle. While many sexually active teens do not use contraception correctly or consistently, leading to risks of STDs and unintended pregnancy. Addressing the underlying causes such as lack of self-esteem, peer pressure, and lack of parental relationships could help reduce teen pregnancy rates and promote child well-being.
