UNIT 1: DAILY ACTIVITY
LESSON : Writing
I. OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, the student will be able to write a passage
and have and adequate understanding about their daily activity
II. LANGUAGE FOCUS :
+ Grammar : simple present, progressive present
+ New words : relating to the farmer’s daily activities
III. TEACHING AIDS : pictures, handout worksheet, projector
IV. PROCEDURE

I. Warm-up (5’) - Shows pictures of some people who are working-
( doctor, typist, football player, engineer, farmer)
Work individually
and give answers
- asks:
+ what does he/ she do ?
+ what does a farmer do ?
- says : to understand more about the life of a farmer ,
let’s come to Unit 1- lesson writing
II. Pre- writing (7’) - Has she asked, answer and write The questions about
their daily activities
- Comments
- Uses pictures relating to the farmer’s daily activities to
teach the word meaning
New words :
+ lead the buffalo to the field
+ plough (v, n)
+ harrow (v, n)
+ pump (v)
+ transplant (v)
+ fellow (n) } ( synonym ) friend
+ peasant (n) } farmer
Work in pairs

III. While writing
(20’)
* Task 1
- Has students open their book and try read while write
the text silently and do the task that follow
- Guides students to scan to get the information
- Comments
-Work individual
- Do the exercise and
give feed back.
* Task 2
- Has students wrote the text again then answer the
questions
- calls some pairs to answer the questions (closed pairs,
opened pairs)
- comments

- has students close the book taken ask and answer about
Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet according to the passage.
* Task 3
- has students do task 3 after explaining the requirement
- has students scan the text to get information to fill in
the table
- divides the class into 3 groups to make a brief note
about Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet’s daily routine in the
morning; in the afternoon; after dinner
- calls some to present their answer on the projector
- comments

  • 1. Lesson plan SCHOOL:SMP 37 JAKARTA CLASS:2 SUBJECT: ENGLISH TEACHERS: Yunia Anggie SCHOOL YEAR:2017-2018 UNIT 1: DAILY ACTIVITY LESSON : Writing I. OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, the student will be able to write a passage and have and adequate understanding about their daily activity II. LANGUAGE FOCUS : + Grammar : simple present, progressive present + New words : relating to the farmer’s daily activities III. TEACHING AIDS : pictures, handout worksheet, projector IV. PROCEDURE Stage Time needed Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I. Warm-up (5’) - Shows pictures of some people who are working- ( doctor, typist, football player, engineer, farmer) Work individually and give answers

Pre- writing (7’) - Has she asked, answer and write The questions about their daily activities - Comments - Uses pictures relating to the farmer’s daily activities to teach the word meaning New words : + lead the buffalo to the field + plough (v, n) + harrow (v, n) + pump (v) + transplant (v) + fellow (n) } ( synonym ) friend + peasant (n) } farmer Work in pairs Give feed back III. While writing (20’) * Task 1 - Has students open their book and try read while write the text silently and do the task that follow - Guides students to scan to get the information - Comments -Work individual - Do the exercise and give feed back. * Task 2 - Has students wrote the text again then answer the questions - calls some pairs to answer the questions (closed pairs, opened pairs) - comments Work in pairs
  • 3. - has students close the book taken ask and answer about Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet according to the passage. * Task 3 - has students do task 3 after explaining the requirement - has students scan the text to get information to fill in the table - divides the class into 3 groups to make a brief note about Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet’s daily routine in the morning; in the afternoon; after dinner - calls some to present their answer on the projector - comments Work in pairs Work in group Listen and comment IV. Post writing (10’) - has students write about their father and mother’ s daily activities - calls some representative to present their passage in front of the class - comments Work in group V. Home work (3’) - has students learn the new words by hear - has students write a passage about 80 words talking their activities
