Young Founders School is a free startup bootcamp for high school students. We take students from ideation to pitch deck and pitching real VCs in just 36 hours. Each team is assisted all weekend by entrepreneurs that dedicate their time to making a difference to the next generation. Graduates then have the opportunity to attend regular mentor hours and startup events in the city they live in and connect with other graduates around the world. We are a non-profit organisation founded in Hong Kong and now operating in Singapore, Shenzhen, and Dhaka, with sponsorship from Credit Suisse and the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund. In line with our mission and vision to bring free entrepreneurship education to 1 million students globally by 2025, we are looking for potential partners to help us fund our programme outreach and roll out globally.

33. Who owns the idea of the team?
- The students. YFS does not take any equity in their business.
What do the winners get?
- The winning team gets a US $1,000 seed funding for their business.
How much does it cost to attend?
- Our bootcamps and ideation days are completely free.
If parents or schools want to make a voluntary donation we would welcome it.
Do I have to stay with my kids for both days?
- No, you don t. We will look after the students during the programmes.
How can I help YFS?
- You can help by donating to us. We will use the fund to help underprivileged students.
34. Do students need to apply in teams?
- No. Students apply as individuals but they can let us know if they want to
work in a particular team they already have an idea with.
Do students need an idea to attend?
- Not for Ideation Express. No experience is necessary. We do require a basic
idea to apply for bootcamp, but students do not have to stick with this idea.
Is it just for business and economics students?
- No. We believe everyone can be entrepreneurial and that these skill sets are
useful in all career paths.
Does the school need to provide a member of staff?
- No. Schools can send staff members if they wish, but students can attend
the workshops unaccompanied by a school staff member.
35. How should I get to the bootcamp?
- Students will need to arrange their own transport to and from the venue.
How often do you run the bootcamps?
- We run 4 English and 4 Cantonese bootcamps.
I have other plans over the weekend, can I just come for one day?
- Students are required to attend both days of the bootcamp.
Do I have to record a video for my application?
- Yes. You might be a bit camera shy, but it doesn t have to be perfect, we
just want to hear about your idea.
Do you have any non-english programs?
- We are developing programs for local languages. Stay tuned!
36. Who are the mentors?
- Mentors are industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs. YFS trains them
before providing mentorship to students.
How old do students need to be?
- 11 to 18 years old.
Are your staff first-aid trained?
- A first aid certified member of staff is present at every bootcamp.
Is YFS non-profit?
- Yes. Full charitable status is pending.
