Deputy Trade Manager, Imports and Exports since June 2013
Manage import and export business and communications, prizing of the product. Monitor the budgeted
volumes, product launch, coordinate with the sales & marketing teams over the region to explore business
opportunities. Offering specialized services to the customers to meet their business needs. Monitor
allocation on vessel its distribution and management in respective areas/locations for maximizing
utilization on the vessel.
Evaluate the additional D&D free time and D&D waiver requests for imports shipments. Evaluate the
tender businesses and their special terms & conditions including but not limited to the D&D free time and
special D&D tariff.
Monitor and follow up import long standing shipments with the customers, 3rd
party agents and Hamburg
Sud offices. Negotiate additional D&D free time, D&D waivers to expedite the clearance of long standing
shipments. Coordinate with the CFS, ICD and Customs officials for disposal of long standing un-cleared
cargo through auction process. Coordinating with legal advisors for matters under litigation for enforcing
cargo delivery, disposal and recovery of the outstanding dues.
Deputy Manager, Customer Service Exports July 2011 to May 2013
Lead the booking and sales support desks to offer best in class experience to Hamburg Sud’s customers.
Monitor the booking systems and release the booking orders to the customers. Selling Hamburg Sud
products & services to the customers. Handling after sales customer service and customer queries.
Handling internal and external communication. Coordinating with the operations team to finalize the
vessel load plan from India. Quoting competitive freight rates to the export business and
follow up for booking requests.
Selected Accomplishments:
 Reduced the number of long standing shipments (idling over 60 days) in Nhava Sheva from 200 TEUs
in Jan 2014 to below 100 TEUs at the end of 2014 and then continuously improvising on it.
 Reviewed and abolished the practice of collecting bonds and securities while releasing the delivery
orders for import shipments. This simplified the cargo delivery process and reduce the administration.
 Successfully led the booking desk to reduce our response time to the customer from 2 hours to an
hour per booking. The improved booking response time helped in avoiding the diversion of business to
the competition.
SEABRIDGE MARITIME AGENCIES PVT. LTD.
Customer Service Export Jan 2010 to June 2011
Monitoring the booking system by creating and issuing the booking orders to the customers as per their
booking requests placed through inttra portal. Handling customer’s queries related to products & services
and handled after sales customer service. Tele-marketing and following up with the customers for export
bookings. Following up with the customers to deliver the export shipments to improve the vessel
utilization.
Selected Accomplishments:
 Handled the export customer service profile for ASIP (Asia - India) service single handedly.
Senior Executive Logistics & Operations July 2005 to Dec 2009
Monitoring standard allocation, utilization and coordinating with partners for additional space. Maintaining
container inventory as per the booking forecasts provided by the sales & marketing team. Evaluating Off
hire, On hire and empty repositioning options in India. Coordinating with the port and the CFS for smooth
en-block movement. Evaluating vendor invoices for processing payments. MIS reporting and statistics as
per the management’s requirement.
Selected Accomplishments:
 Successfully brought down the inventory movement reporting time from 2-3 days to 24 hours per
move. This helped to get a more clear picture of the inventory status in India.
