Significance.
The use of ICT in
English Language
The Syntactic
Categories &
& Syntactic
Rules.
3. OBJECTIVES:
1.Be able to construct and expand short
sentences to longer sentences with
grammaticality.
2.Be able to use Immediate Constituent Analysis
in analyzing sentences.
3.Be able to expand our knowledge in the
Syntax of English Language.
4.
5. SYNTAX
(ICA)Immediate Constituent Analysis
also known as (PSR)Phrase Structure Rule or as
(CSR)Constituent Structure Rule
From the term CONSTITUENT, it
refers to the NATURAL
GROUPING of words which may
be represented through PST or ICT.
(PST)Phrase Structure Tree also known as
(ICT)Immediate Constituent Tree or simply
Tree Diagram contained the Syntactic
Category that is governed by Syntactic Rules
From the term RULE, it follows
certain WORD ORDER. Thus, this is
what SYNTAX is all about, the
structure of phrase and sentences

syntactic knowledge which are:
a. Linear order of words
b. Identification of syntactic categories of word
c. The hierarchical structure order of words in phrases and sentences.
Importance of PSTree or ICTree:
First, it helps us construct our sentences with GRAMMATICALITY no
matter how long the sentence is.
Second, it also helps ANALYZE the sentence.
Lastly, it helps us UNLOCK AMBIGUITY in sentences enabling us to
comprehend well.
