Dear Sir/Madam,
I am looking for the positions of Civil Engineer or Quantity surveyor. With my strong educational background
and relevant experience, I believe I have the combination of relevant knowledge, skills and qualities to fulfill the
responsibilities of this role.
I am currently completing a Master degree at NTU with a specialization in Civil Engineering. NTU has given me
exceptional opportunities to broaden my horizons through a wide variety of courses from engineering to
management disciplines. This semester I registered the course of information technology in construction which
is more about the skills of Building information modeling (BIM). I am quite interested in the area of Building
Information Modeling (BIM), Pre-Fabricated Pre-Finished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) which is the trend of
future construction technology. I also registered the course of Project Financing taught by Associate Professor
Tiong Lee Kong Robert who is an expert in the area of project financing and risk management. During this
course, I presented my project asignment called Life cycle costing of asset as a volunteer and I was asked to
organise a group dicussion to analysis the risk of the Jakarta-Bandung (Indonesia) high speed railway project
which helped me gain a better understanding of project financing and risk management.
I hold a Bachelor of Management with a special focus on Engineering Management, during which time my
persistence and passionate studies resulted in my achieving the mark of 89.22% and ranking of 1 out of 75. A
Score of 93/100 (ranking 1st
in class) has been achieved for the courses of Engineering Budget which help me
acquire the basic konwledge about Budgeting and cost control. I am also fascinated with the fesibility study of
real estate development project that involved with cost estimation, technical and economic evaluation, risk
management and selection of mutually exclusive investment alternatives. So my Graduation thesis was entitled
with: A Feasibility Study of the XinYe Landscape in Changsh. And I got the highest score of 97, which helps my
award the excellent graduation thesis in school.
As I continue to strive for academic success, I enjoy working on teams and have had significante experience
though my extracurricular activities and internships. I was fortunately chosen to paticapate in the National
College Student Mathematical Modeling competition at university, and i experienced 2 months Mathematical
modeling and Statistical analysis software training such as SPSS and MATLAB. Moreover, aside from
abundant professional competitions, I have taken part in practical internship during holidays. I interned in some
famous companies, where I did much work as intern quantity surveyor. Helping the budgeteer to estimate the
cost of the project, checking reinforcement of steel bars with construction drawing, I finished each assignment
with outstanding preformance. Internships and competitions have given me the opportunity to enhance my
leadership and organizational skills as well as increase my practical knowledge and experineces.
I believe that my solid background of knowledge, relevant experience and skillsets in the construction,
management and financing sectors, as described above, together with my effort, passion, persistence would
