EFFLUENT TREATMENTConcast Water Treatment Iscor Vanderbijlpark In another steel industry related project AGE Engineering secured the contract to assist Iscor's planning department with the design, project management and commissioning of the automation system required at the Vanderbijlpark works Continuous Casting plant. The main scope was the equipment supply and product training of Modicon Quantum PLC's and FactoryLink SCADA. However, the whole project was to be executed during a planned shutdown period and required careful planning in order to minimise disruption at the changeover. The PLC was programmed in hot stand-by configuration and it was decided to make use of standard terminal cabling in order to facilitate a smoother transition.
