2. Ore handling system revamp Sishen Mine ControlWize, a division of Age of Africa Technologies, was awarded this contract by Siemens to implement an InTouch SCADA and reporting system on the ore handling facility at ISCOR's Sishen Mine in the Northern Cape. ControlWize engineers frequently operate between the other companies within the AGE of Africa group. Included in the ore handling system were a washing and screening plant, a drum plant, cyclones, silo management, and a load-out station. The system revamp project was executed in a number of phases over a 19 month period and utilised 42 man months from commencement to completion in June 2000. In addition to the InTouch SCADA package, ControlWize made use of a Microsoft SQL Server with an Access data base for the train handling facility at the load-out station.
