 Facilitate the installation, testing, and modification of reactor plant systems and their components
for Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) through objective technical oversight.
 Responsible for nuclear reactor plant safety, proper component operation, and supporting on-time
delivery of the CVN 78 aircraft carrier to the U.S. Navy.
 Authorize all reactor plant work and testing that affects plant conditions to ensure appropriate
component availability, proper operations, and compliance with nuclear safety analyses.
 As the on-site technical expert, collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team of over 25 project
stakeholders, including: NNS engineers, U.S. Navy personnel, Naval Reactors Representatives,
Supervisors of Shipbuilding, and the Prime Contractors, to resolve emergent shipboard issues that
could compromise reactor plant safety or significantly delay the ship’s acceptance test program.

 Qualified as a RPCO JTG engineer by studying and demonstrating cognizance of 44 various reactor
and propulsion plant systems on the FORD class aircraft carriers, including: primary and secondary
fluids, instrumentation and control, chemistry, nuclear physics, and reactor protection.
Qualification period spanned ~19 months.
 Developed test procedures and analytic programs for all non-destructive testing for nuclear core
components (Ultrasonic, Phased-Array Ultrasonic, Radiography, Digital Radiography, Computed
Radiography, and Photometric Digital Radiography)
 Supervised a team of five engineers to independently research various sound-dampening materials
for submarine noise-reduction applications—the results were subsequently presented to the general
manager and his 8 department managers.
 Conducted six surveillances, overviews, and contract compliance observations for nuclear core
manufacturing, while assigned to the nuclear core vendor in Lynchburg, VA.
