Point Beach (PWR) nuclear plant EPU project (August 2008-June 2009)
EPU Project Engineer:
o Validation and verification of AST (alternate source term) and EPU License Amendment
Requests (LAR).
o Owner acceptance reviews of EPU LAR sections and calculations submitted by the NSSS, and
BOP vendors; LBLOCA report by NSSS vendor, and PSA update by a consultant

Project Engineer (1998 – 2005)
As a Project Engineer for several strategic projects including extended power update (EPU), to
increase electric generation capacity of nuclear power plants or to support operations, responsible
for developing project justifications, scope, plans, schedules, cost estimates, contracts, risks, multi-
discipline organization and interfaces, communication plans, management presentations and
reports, financial analyses, etc. in addition to coordinating project costs, overseeing licensing and
design change activities, verification and validation, quality assurance, issues identification and
resolutions, contractor oversight, due diligence documentation and project closeout.
• Hope Creek (BWR) EPU project to increase power generation by 135 MWe that included
engineering, licensing, modifications, replacement of main turbines and transformers, and
conversion to digital EHC.
• Salem (PWR) Units Turbine and digital EHC projects
• Measurement Uncertainty Recovery (MUR) project for all three units (Salem units one and two,
and Hope Creek) resulting in increased generation by 78 MWe.
• PSEG Nuclear Year 2000 project included: business software (including those used to perform
technical analyses, administration, and other miscellaneous technical applications), networks,
digital devices, and process controls using embedded microprocessors to monitor power
production and plant ambience, and contingency planning and supply chain risk management.
Nuclear Safety Review (NSR) (1985-1998)
As a member of full time Nuclear Review Board responsible for nuclear safety oversight of three
nuclear units (Salem/PWRs and Hope Creek/BWR) including independent assessment of incidents,
violations, proposed tests or experiments; 10CFR 50.59 and 50.92 assessments of changes to the
facilities, processes, core design, and operating licenses, inspection, testing and acceptance
criteria; review of plant performance indicators to identify technical or programmatic issues.

• As a NSR project manager for Salem restart oversight, led a team of engineers to conduct
assessments of engineering programs, resolution of technical issues and Salem systems
testing. Participated as a member of Salem Restart Independent Oversight Board
• Developed the company’s nuclear safety philosophy and policies, and led the development of
nuclear safety oversight guidelines
• Developed the company’s initial root cause analysis process and performance standard for
Corrective Action Intervention Team during Salem Restart
• Led and conducted several investigations of incidents at Salem, Hope Creek and Peach Bottom
nuclear power plants, and Burlington combined cycle power plant

Senior Project Manager
Developed standards of management excellence for nuclear power plant design, construction and
operations during the inception of this institute; Responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and
leading a team of engineers loaned from various US and foreign utilities, and other high technology
industries.
• Completed initial standards of excellence (Performance Objectives and Criteria) for evaluation
of operating nuclear plants, corporate management of nuclear power, and design and
construction of nuclear power plants.
• Completed the initial best practice guidelines for conduct of Operations, Maintenance,
Radiological Protection, and Training.
• Arranged technology transfer from Department of Energy, aerospace and other high-tech
industries, and national laboratories.
• Conceptualized and managed development of the Plant Experience Reports, and diagnostic
techniques to facilitate identification of the problem areas (in processes, plants, or management)
at nuclear power plants to be addressed in depth by the INPO evaluators.
• Participated in evaluations of nuclear power plants, and field investigations of nuclear plant
incidents that were used in developing a SOER (Significant Operating Experience Report).
• Conducted investigation of the incidents using MORT, KT and other contemporary root cause
analysis techniques. Developed and completed the first INPO report on root causes of
significant events at US nuclear power plants.

Nuclear Safety Review (NSR) (1985-1998) As a member of full time Nuclear Review Board responsible for nuclear safety oversight of three nuclear units (Salem/PWRs and Hope Creek/BWR) including independent assessment of incidents, violations, proposed tests or experiments; 10CFR 50.59 and 50.92 assessments of changes to the facilities, processes, core design, and operating licenses, inspection, testing and acceptance criteria; review of plant performance indicators to identify technical or programmatic issues.
