Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) involves analyzing and redesigning workflows and processes within an organization to achieve greater efficiency. It aims to identify processes, review them, and redesign new "to-be" processes with the help of information technology. While BPR promised significant improvements, it did not always live up to expectations as it did not provide ways to validate that processes were the limiting factor or focus on an organization's constraints. Today, BPR is performed in a less radical way and has been succeeded by Business Process Management which is supported by information technology.
