to support Bauxite Mining and Alumina Manufacturing Industries on the achievement of new
challenges resulting from changes on philosophy, practices and technologies that focus sustainability,
adding value to the Community, Environment and the rational use of raw material and energy.
Walking along the path
The activities and services to materialize this vision embraces Greenfield and Brownfield projects ,
improvements of existing plant operation and leading effort to bring the existing plant operation
performance to a higher efficiency level.
The activities for Greenfield projects incorporate at the conceptual phase all the process requirements
for specified equipment, technology and operational / maintenance / process control application,
towards building a benchmark plant´s performance design that infers the lowest capex level at the
defined location, considering all excellence in sustainability , environment and community criteria.
The activities and services related to the existing plant operations can either manage both technical
and production groups to reach a higher performance level in all aspects of the business or, by
coaching and mentoring specific teams towards the achievement of operational & maintenance
benchmarking positions and process knowledge increase. Both cases will generate the definition or
review of the strategic plan and the roadmap of projects, studies and activities that would embrace:
• Improving operational and processing efficiencies by productivity increase, energy and
main/secondary raw materials consumption reductions in any of the specific process areas as Milling,
Digestion, Clarification, Impurities Removal, Precipitation and Calcination.
• Alumina quality improvement to reach the identified potential level in terms of chemical and
physical properties.
• Improving stack gas emission by purifying and generating sub products where possible to be
retrofit (Calciner and Boilers stacks)
• Improvements on reducing the bauxite residue causticity and the handling complexity towards
reduction of environmental impacts and consequent increase of the reuse opportunities.
• Improving the water balance management towards to zero discharge and minimum water input
from the environment.
• Identifying renewable energy source alternatives of high retrofit probability in the plant.
We have connection to a comprehensive range of key contributors with specific expertise in all
engineering areas related to Bauxite mining and Alumina Refinery. We are capable to compose the
adequate team that suits the customer, with the expertise level and the team size to fulfill the
requirement of the project, from the conceptual and detailing engineering phases to implementation
phase.
The activities and services can follow the most suitable route for the customer, as be part of the
owners’ team, or as an association/contract with specific partners but maintaining the leading of the
process concept and also developing the approach and strategy for the implementation of the
conceptual and detailing engineering phases for the Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
