Natural gas saving: On technical basis and potential economic benefits, management installed new boilers. Annual Natural
Gas saving to fertilizer complex equivalent to 200 MMSCF..07 months payback
• Process Safety: Upgraded the Fire water network by site evaluation and installation of additional fire
hydrants/monitors and installation of utility points near wooden areas to avoid fire hazards
3. • Process design: Developed Scope of Work, reviewed EP contract for Nitric Acid Plant of Midwest Fertilizers Corp. USA.
• Product quality: As a focal person, detailed study completed, recommendations made and implemented at the plants.
Product quality improved by 07% from 53% in Y2007 to 60% in Y2012. (Design product quality is 60%)
• Cost reduction: Developed the Scope of work, finalized Contract and complete activity follow up with M/s Johnson
Matthey UK for chemical clean down of equipment. USD 45 million saving to the company
• Energy optimization: Study and design package development for Installation of Boiler Feed Water pre-heaters at
Plant, that will offer Annual Natural Gas saving to fertilizer complex equivalent to 63 MMSCF.01 Year payback
• Management of change (MOC) : Evaluated and Process design package developed for about 40 No. of plant
improvement modifications/design changes.
