2. • Slovakia has many forests. They extend on
about 40% of its territory. They represent
Slovakian greatest natural treasure. As they are
popular place of relaxing, many tourists as
well as natives frequently visit them. There
also have been built many paths ideal for
cyclotourism.

In Slovakia is very popular Tilia, it is a deciduous
tree growing to 20–40 m.
The oldest tilia in Slovakia is 716 years old and tilia
was planted in 1301 by Matúš Čák Trenčiansky.
Tilia is considered a symbol of the Slavs.

5. Robinia pseudoacacia
Robinia pseudoacacia (slovak: Agát biely)
commonly known in its native territory as black
locust, is a medium sized deciduous tree native to the
southeastern United States, but it has been widely
planted and naturalized elsewhere in temperate North
America, Europe, Southern Africa and Asia and is
considered an invasive species in some areas.

Platanus (slovak: Platan)
is a genus consisting of a small number
of tree species native to the Northern Hemisphere.
All members of Platanus are tall, reaching 30–50 m
(98–164 ft) in height.
7. Aesculus hippocastanum
Aesculus hippocastanum (slovak: Pagaštan konský)
is a species of flowering plant in the soapberry and
lychee family Sapindaceae. It is a large deciduous,
synoecious (hermaphroditic-flowered) tree,
commonly known as horse-chestnut or conker tree.
8. Sambucus nigra
Sambucus nigra (slovak: Baza čierna)
It is a deciduous shrub or small tree growing to 6 m tall and
wide (rarely 10m tall). The bark, light grey when young,
changes to a coarse grey outer bark with lengthwise furrowing.
The leaves are arranged in opposite pairs, 10–30 cm long,
pinnate with five to seven (rarely nine) leaflets, the leaflets 5–
12 cm long and 3–5 cm broad, with a serrated margin. The
young stems are hollow.
9. Slovak „best“ trees
- The oldest tree is in village Dubinné. Oak is 850 years old,
survived wars and lightning strikes.
- The tallest tree is a white fir tree in Dobročský prales national
nature reserve. They measure up to 58 meters.
- The oldest Slovak beech grows at Počúvadlo. He is 400 years
old.

Galanthus nivalis (slovak: Snežienka jarná)
Galanthus nivalis, the snowdrop or common
snowdrop, is the best-known and most widespread of
the 20 species in itsgenus, Galanthus. Snowdrops are
among the first bulbs to bloom in spring and can form
impressive carpets of white in areas where they are
native or have been naturalised.

commonly known as the dog rose, is a variable
climbing, wild rose species native to Europe,
northwest Africa. It is medicinal plant, healing are
fruits, from fruits cooked jam and healing tea.

The ox-eye daisy, or oxeye daisy, is a widespread flowering
plant native to Europe. It is one of a number of family
Asteraceae plants to be called a "daisy", and has the
additional vernacular names common daisy, dog daisy and
moon daisy.

Lilium martagon (slovak: Ľalia zlatohlavá)
Lalia is a beautiful plant growing in Slovakia only in some
areas. It is therefore precious and protected. If cultivated in the
garden it is poisonous for cats.

Anacamptis morio (slovak:Vstavač obyčajný)
Is a flowering plant of theorchid family, Orchidaceae. It is a
native of western Eurasia, ranging from Europe to Iran. In
the British Isles it is found in central-southern England, Wales
and Ireland. It grows in grassy meadows, especially on
limestone-rich soil, reaching a height of 40 cm. It flowers from
late April to June in the British Isles, and as early as February
in other countries, such as France.
